I decided to get some wedding nails done there. I called and asked if they do 3D nails. They don't. So I opted to have some flowers placed. I spent like 1 hour and 40 mins for a full set acrylic nails and flowers. It came out to about 80 ish bucks. The guy who did them took forever and they did not look nice at all. The guy kept saying, if you get the flowers, they are just gunna get stuck on things.... like, if I've never got my nails done. I didn't feel welcomed there, and the price did not reflect the price I paid. I wouldn't go there again. read more

I went in with a set from someone else so of course they do warn/charge additionally for this. But my total was around $65. I was serviced by Logan who was a great conversationalist and well educated on the products and the services provided. I have always booked my appointments with Aaron, his work is very good quality and nails do not lift for 3+ weeks. However, his designs are not that great. He tends to hurry to do as many sets of nails and that's why he doesn't take his time with designs. Prices are okay, for how long his nails last. Sadly, today is the last day I ever book with him. I made an appointment and he started doing my nails and 5 mins in he told me he needed to eat. So he asked me if it was okay if the other guy in the salon did my nails. He took 10 or so minutes to eat, came out, and then started to do someone else's nails. I don't know why he booked me if he wasn't going to do my nails. This is not the first time it happened. He has hurried to do my nails in the past because he already had other clients waiting. I have been seeing him for about 8 months, too bad he can't manage his time/ clients better. read more

There is a sign lit up that says "Waxing" and another that says "Walk-in welcomed". This is my third attempt (each a different day and over the course of 3 weeks) that I have walked in (as advertised) for an eyebrow wax (as advertised) and was either told they were either too busy or nobody was there that could do waxing. I can understand it happening once but 3 times in a row for services advertised on the front door is a poor business practice. The only reason I keep going back is because I have a gift certificate I'm trying to use. It has been a frustrating experience to say the least. If I ever get to spend this gift card, I will not go back. These salons are on virtually every street so I would think you would want to secure business when there are so many places to choose from. I cannot recommend Gorgeous Spa. I often give only positive reviews but this one warrants a negative one. read more

Yes I'm so glad I found this place. It's probably my favorite spot to do my nails. Ive had my toes painted for over a month an they are still intact The service was amazing. I had to make an appointment but I did see they accept walk in. Once I got seated they gave the colors they had and asked which one I wanted after a couple of minutes. I was relaxing on a chair with massage and drinking a juice I had brought with me. She asked which package I wanted I got the regular, and she provided stone and a quick massage on feet. Highly recommend if you prefer heavier handed pedicure prep (like myself), & close attention to detail even during a simple solid color pedi. I've been a regular for almost a year now, and you cannot beat the customer service and prices at Gorgeous Spa. Quennie, Aaron, and Logan are wonderful and will always make you feel at home. Some of the main reasons I keep coming back to Gorgeous Spa are: (1) They remember EVERY ONE of their clients. As soon as someone walks in the door, they will be greeted by their name, which shows how much they care about their customers. (2) All staff do great work. I don't have a preference on who does my nails because they always come out great. (3) Quennie is so sweet and Logan and Aaron are very funny. (4) They work fast. I like this because I hate feeling like I'm sitting around waiting, which they never do. (5) They have great prices. I pay between $35-40 for my acrylic set/fill. My only tip is make an appointment (a few days-week in advance) because these artists are very popular and typically cannot take walk ins. read more

I called this nail salon to ask if they had any openings for a gel manicure. The lady on the phone stated yes and I advised her I could be there in 5 minutes. She eagerly said yes, come now! And said she'd send me a text with directions to make sure I made it there. She sent me a text of a picture of the front of the nail place, no directions included. I knew how to get there anyway but that was kind of odd. I show up and the lady I spoke to on the phone asked,"gel manicure?" I said, "yes, I just called you" and she said, "yes, please sit here." so I sit down and Tina begins to work on my nails. The male owner, don't know his name walks towards me and in a stern voice questions me stating, "you didn't have an appointment? No appointment!" I explained I called 5 minutes earlier and was told I could come in. I told him I have a text from his nail salon with a photo. I showed him the text and he said that's not an appointment! I quickly stated,"I will leave right now if you are so bothered by me not having an appointment." at which point Tina tells him she has already begun working on my nails and to leave me alone. He walks away and then the lady who was originally on the phone with me walks over and says, I remember I spoke on the phone with you. I told her," yes, so I don't understand why you didn't explain that to him instead of letting him accuse me of not having an appointment." Tina worked quickly on my nails. Too quickly I'd say, not thorough, and the tip layer of the gel nail began peeling a day after the manicure. The experience is not worth ever returning but also, the quality of their product is even worse. I will never return to this nail salon there are too many to choose from. Stay away. read more

Im giving it a 3 stars because I liked this place for my pedicures but last time I was there they gave me an ingrown nail. One of my toe nails was cut at an angle from both sides of my toe and I had to suffer from both sides. My other toe was fine and cut how it should've been cut (squared). Maybe they need more business and did it on purpose to have customers return to get the ingrown out. Nice try. I will not be returning. Reminder- no one should be going into the sides of your nails to remove anything/ingrowns UNLESS they're podiatrist. read more

This was my first time at Gorgeous Spa! It was very clean and the customer service was better than most salons here in Bakersfield. However, I gave this Nail Salon three stars for a few reasons. First, I asked for a fill, and was told it started at $40 dollars. I assumed with the design and color it would be around $55 dollars. However it ended up being $63 ($68 with the tip). I don't know where the extra $23 came from, but it definitely was a surprise for a fill. The menu had no mention of extra fees for shaping or a design. Second, the hot pink color is strangely discolored? Part of its a neon pink and the rest is more of a hot pink. The small details show this defect to. I again don't know how this happened, but for $63 dollars I am a little bummed at how noticeable it is in person. All in all, it was decent experience and the staff was great but at $63 dollars a fill, I don't know if it was worth it. read more

Hate leaving bad reviews, but as someone who looked at the reviews prior to coming, I did not feel I was adequately prepared for this place. Immediately when I walked in, there was a terrible smell. Their equipment is not cleaned between uses, they kept setting dollar bills directly on the equipment as well. Their towels didn't look like they had been washed all day. It felt like it was a solid 90 degrees in there at least. They cut the girls toe next to me, and the girl said something and they sprayed hers off with hopefully alcohol, but made sure to say it was her fault. The guy cut my toe and then shoved my foot back in the water, pretending it didn't even happen. They didn't clean under my nails or file them. They didn't scrub my feet for more than 0.5 seconds. I left after being cut and still paid but won't ever go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, if only for the unsafe and unsanitary situation they have going on in there. They need a health inspection. read more

I have a disability that makes it difficult for me to keep my left foot all the way down or to move it. While I was getting a gel pedicure the lady doing my toes was extremely rough and rude. She made my disability seem like an inconvenience to her when putting the UV lamp over my left disabled foot. I tried explaining to her that putting my foot all the way down was hard for me and tried to move forward to make it easier so that my toes wouldn't touch the lights on the lamp and ruin the polish. She put no effort in to try to make me feel comfortable like helping move the chair up to make the situation easier for the both of us. I had to hold my foot down to try to help her which I did not mind at all but the main issue was her rudeness , attitude , rolling her eyes and her commenting "not my problem" after me telling her about my disability. Her roughness also left the sides of some of my toes bleeding. Will not be coming back and do not recommend. read more

I used to love this place Queenie is funny and there always did a great job... but even when an appointment was booked somehow never had time to do a service... Window says walk in welcome and that's simply a lie. As a dude going in for a pedicure it's already a awkward situation. Walking in and being promptly looked at by all the empty handed employees to be sent away again is just weird... and honestly this now has been going on for like 3 years now... if they just said hey we don't like you that would be a much better situation verses me coming back and trying my luck... Needless to say... if you go here you might get a decent pedi, but apparently will never be able to get in EVER AGAIN. Prices are very reasonable, customer service is amazing and my gel polish lasted over a month with no issues! The other place I was barely getting 2 weeks without chipping or growing out. I was visiting Bakersfield from out of town and looked this shop up on Yelp. Since it says they accept walk-ins , I chose this shop. When I arrived, I was turned away and adamantly told that they only accept appointments. When I pointed out that their Yelp page says otherwise, the woman vehemently denied it. This place is so cute and I felt like a princess in a girly pink castle! I called that morning and made an appointment for my friend and me, and I was told to text them and confirm my name and appointment time. They gave me some info about the location and parking and informed me when they were ready for me. I loved how communicative they were in preparation for our appointment! My friend and I got gel pedicures, and they used a gentle whirring tool to exfoliate our feet, and I chose a pretty peachy coral color.
