Definitely great if you're someone who is into sports, comic books, and also likes to discover hidden gems. Service here is best described as prompt but sassy, but also something that can't be accurately described (in a good way) and just needs to be experienced in person. I'm not exactly sure if there's a menu, as the regulars seem to already know what to order - but this is something that can be researched online and is both bolder in flavor and more interesting than what you can typically find in a bar, or Korean restaurant. Kind of a fusion between familiar and tasty American bar food -- but with Korean influences to elevate the flavors. All the food I tried here shined both in texture and flavor. The seafood pancake had a great crisp on the outside and generous amounts of seafood inside. It was packed with tasty herbs and a slightly chewy texture that was still fantastic after I reheated it the next day. The Korean fried chicken used large wings and drumsticks, which really helped to provide more tender and moist meat than some local competitors. This was super crispy, possibly more crispy than similar options at Bonchon and CM chicken. A small warning for the spicy options, as this is a higher spiciness level than what many people may be used to with fried chicken. The kimchi fried rice has a great mix of egg, kimchi, and seasonings that create a delicious dish even for those who may not particularly care for the flavor profile of kimchi. Putting the flame torch to the egg and rice adds a good smokiness to the dish, and the mix of onion and egg really adds a lot of umami to the dish. Overall, this is a unique dining experience and worth a visit as the food is flavorful, inexpensive, and well executed. Especially worth a visit for anyone who likes bar food but wants something a bit higher quality and packed with flavors -- this is definitely not the menu you'd find at a traditional Korean spot.

The decor is sports theme mixed with Christmas but they have the most amazing food! The chef cooks food inspired by his mother's cooking. Their chicken wings are gigantic. Close to half a chicken in each piece. We also had the mixed mandoo, bulgogi tacos, and the kimchi fried rice. The dishes take a while to come out because they are made fresh for each order. The chicken is brined for 48 hours. All of the food is cared for and it comes out in the cooking. The chef made our food less spicy just for our table! I've been to gopchang restaurants in Koreatown in Los Angeles and in Korea. I have not been to one that cooks gopchang in a grill with no outlet for oil drainage. For something greatly oily, it felt uncomfortable seeing it cook in an abundance of its own oil. The restaurant's lackluster solution to all of this oil was to dunk in large pieces of bread to soak it up. This not only looked very unappetizing but was not a successful solution. Additionally, letting the gopchang cook in its own oil, left the gopchang to be "fried" crisp and hard. The bulgogi hotpot had a good amount of meat and vegetables, but was way too sweet. They gave a small bowl of chive salad to a group of 5 of us to share, which we were each able to get very small portions of. They charge extra if you want more chive salad. Everything is ordered individually, and for some meats, you have to order at least two portions per table. We got two orders of the marinated kalbi and one order of the thick pork belly, which ended up being the perfect amount for the three of us. We also ordered the Gondeure Namul Bap (곤드레 나물밥), and it was a pleasant surprise. It's a Korean rice dish mixed with seasoned gondre greens, and it was flavorful and different -- a perfect side to go with the grilled meats. One thing that really sets Pro Samgyubsal apart is the quality of the meat. You can immediately taste the difference compared to the typical AYCE spots. The cuts are top-notch, tender, and well-marbled. The banchan (side dishes) are also fresh and delicious. The service is decent -- not necessarily exceptional, but solid and consistent, just what you'd expect from a true Korean BBQ restaurant. Overall, don't let the lack of "all-you-can-eat" deter you.
