Originally given the estimate $1800-2500 for a move from LA to SF for a 1-bedroom. Ended up being $2800. I figured with such great reviews, its worth the extra money. Welp. Now I'll be buying a new $2000 tv to replace my brand new tv. Since I had the basic coverage the claim will be $39. $39 for a $2000 tv. Either pack your own tv and drive it yourself or pray that they don't drop it and shatter it. In order to insure my apartment was safe during the move it would have been an additional $7,000. It's only fair that I share my experience with their services. Having 10+ years in business and breaking a TV and not being able to say when it happened during the move is unprofessional. The reason the tv broke as badly as it did was due to negligence. It's not a minor scratch or cosmetic issue, it's shattered. I need to replace the tv, it's too damaged to be repaired. Don't offer TV services, if you cant do it correctly or it depends on the specific "highly trained" mover the company hires. If you wouldn't put your flat screen on a dolly by yourself and run it down a truck ramp, then I wouldn't choose this company. He has a small business, but Im an individual looking out for other individuals who need their personal items moved. This is the BEST moving company I've ever worked with. Scheduling the move was easy and they even allowed me to switch my move-in date at last minute since I needed to postpone it by five days. I moved into a new apartment yesterday and had the best experience working with the three movers from Got2Move! They were all so thorough, kind, respectful and knowledgeable. They took apart and put back together several pieces of furniture (e.g my bed, giant desk set, console). They even made my bed more stable than it had been before. The company was responsive on the whole but I had a few issues with the actual move. *The first was a communication issue. I told the movers twice what I wanted to happen with two heavy items and they ended taking them out of my apartment and then just leaving them behind, which was not what I had said, and it put me in a bind. Since they did remove them from my apartment, I assumed all was as it should be and didn't notice until after they left that the pieces were still in my hallway and they refused to come back for them. The company agreed to give me a discount for the amount it would take to have someone else come and take them away, so though it was frustrating to have the extra hassle, that was fine. I had hoped/planned to give them to a friend so it was disappointing to not be able to, but whatever, I could get over it. *I went back to my old place two days later and discovered that they had hit the dials on the oven at some point turning it on, and it had been releasing gas for nearly 48 hours. *They did a shoddy job reassembling my bed and I will need to redo it as it looks at risk of falling apart. ***Update*** I did end up redoing my bed and discovered it was much shoddier than I thought. *The 3 support beams were not securely attached. I think the screws had fallen out of two of them but they had only been attached on one side of each in the first place. And the third wasn't attached at all and there were no loose screws lying nearby to indicate that they ever even tried with that one. *One of the metal plates that attach the foot of the bed to the side pieces had bent somewhere along the way, which created the gap that I had first noticed (but had assumed only issue until I tackled trying to fix it). I was able to hammer it back to flat enough but the gap it had created before was at least a half inch so was very noticeable. And they'd have known that it didn't leave my first apartment that way as they had dismantled it there in the first place. *There we're thin and thick bolts to be used on either side of the metal plates and they put the thick ones on the wrong side of ALL the plates, which meant that none of the boards lay flat against each other and led to one end of both side pieces being higher than the other. I didn't notice I'd been sleeping on a small slope but it was visually obvious. There are ~6 screws for each metal plate and they were inconsistent with what bolts they put on each side of each hole. So it was clearly a case of just poor attention to a small, but rather key detail vs just guessing wrong. I ended up having to redo the entire thing which was very challenging to do on my own considering how heavy it all is and it took me several very determined, sweaty, and bruising hours and a few close calls with injuring myself more seriously to manage it. I know moving is a long and grueling experience so I understand temptation to just get it all over and done with, so I'd be more forgiving of imperfections here and there, if it wouldn't have been *completely* obvious that the pieces weren't lining up right when rebuilding it. And if the support beams being rendered useless didn't put my cats at some risk, as they often hang out under my bed. And of everything that could have gone wrong, it is probably the hardest possible fix to handle on my own. I appreciated the support I got from admin office on the whole. They did try to shift blame for the 2 pieces left behind to me for not supervising the operation more meticulously, but they did ultimately agree to compensate me for it and they were responsive/communicative from start to finish. But now that I've seen the extent of how poorly bed was made, on top of everything else, I'm knocking off 1 of my original 2 stars. read more

They broke my new 48 inches Sony Bravia tv. As admitted by them the tv was improperly packed. They offered $150 dollars off which of course didn't even get closer to the price of that tv. Also we had some damages on other furniture that was chipped. They're careless in packing so get ready to have your stuff broken. I hired this company to do a 1 bedroom to 1 bedroom move. I was quoted for 3 hours. However, they moved incredibly slow and felt they dillydallied at times. It went almost over four hours, when it honestly shouldn't have taken that long. They dropped a couple of things during the move. They also didn't clean up the plastic wrap they left on my deck and didn't remove the plastic wrap from one of my items. For how expensive this was, I didn't get the service I expected. They requested I tip them 20-30% of the overall cost of the move, which is exorbitant and I felt like they didn't provide that great of a service. I'm usually a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to moving. So, hiring movers was not something I've done before and that alone provided for some anxiety. To my relief, Got2Move lived up to their good reputation and positive Yelp reviews! They were amazingly efficient! I received a call 30 mins before my scheduled move saying they were 20 minutes away. They showed up almost 10 minutes early, reviewed my moving contract with me and assessed the job before quickly getting started on my move. When they arrived at my new home just a 10 minute drive down the road, they quickly unloaded. They placed everything where I directed them to (wearing masks and following COVID guidelines). They even allowed me to jump in an help where needed. (Because I insisted) they didn't ask. They even hung our clothes and asked where every box and piece of furniture went. The movers came late, moved extremely slowly and inefficiently, and this company cost more than competitors per mover. STAY AWAY. Maybe if you have multiple people that can keep an eye on the movers, they'll be fine, but I was one single woman and I feel they took full advantage of that. The movers did everything slowly and wasting time at every step. They took multiple phone calls, packed boxes I had already packed into larger boxes, instead of just taking them to the truck and wrapped stuff in plastic over and over instead of using tarps. Each trip took around 40 minutes for an apartment that is a two minute walk from the door, and the truck was parked right outside the door. I've had movers before and each trip took under ten minutes. They just moved slow, and I believe they took long breaks at the truck when I wasn't watching them. It's not like they had to take fewer trips either. For a cross-town move of a small studio, it ended up taking 7+ hours. When I spoke to the owner expressing concern, he said that's their average. (???!!!) I heard one of the movers on the phone and he said 'it should be a few hours'. What happened?? In the past it's taken around 3 for me for a cheaper hourly rate. My apartment had two elevators and easy access from the truck to the door, I can only imagine what would happen if that wasn't the case. I needed the movers to pack some things, so it's going to take more time and cost more, cool! I watched them pack and that added about an hour of time (they also moved extremely slowly doing this - just no effort to move fast) so I believe the move should've taken around 4 hours, NOT 7+. Especially with the higher hourly rate, there was no excuse for the lack of hustle/effort. The unload was the most egregious part. Last time the unload took under a half hour for the amount of stuff I have and to put the furniture back together. This time it took multiple hours. It's really a bad feeling to be sitting in the apartment waiting for them for over a half hour and feel like I need to babysit the movers. I've never experienced this before and I've moved many times with movers. If you want your move to take 2 - 3x what it should and cost 4 - 5x, book these guys! read more

I had a poor move scheduled this week, resulting in me feeling very dissatisfied. Outside of feeling stressed already by moving, I felt my safety jeopardized by inappropriate yelling, bullying tactics (when settling up my agreement) and just overall aggregious conflict with one of the drivers - "Anthony". Summary: Broke $2k headboard in half and caused further damage to the bed through improper assembly. Left without telling me. Treated me terribly when I brought it up. Lied. Don't ever use them. Communications below. Got 2 move just destroyed my $2,000 bedframe. They split the headboard in half, and the inexplicably drilled new holes into the tops of the side wood panels. I was charged $3,950 for the move from the Bay Area to Santa Barbara. I have attached before and after pictures of the broken headboard, and the incomprehensible decision to flip the side panels upside down and drill random new holes all the way through them. You can see that the headboard was not broken, and you can see these holes did not exist until this juvenile attempt at assembling my bed was made. As if the drilling wasn't ridiculous enough, they drilled 3 holes on one side and four nails on the other side panel. On the way out, the mover did not inform me of the broken headboard and even accepted my $400 tip without saying a word. When I discovered the damage about an hour later, I called Alex. Alex admitted that they broke the headboard (and didn't tell me), but insisted holes already existed in the side panels. On the headboard, he said their policy only covers 60 cents per pound and they would only give me $200. When I told him that was not acceptable and explained they should have insurance capable of covering the cost of a bed. Alex persisted in arguing with me about their policy and blaming me for the side panels. He hung up on me and he will not answer my calls. He has since emailed me attempting to blame clutter (storage company) for breaking the headboard and told me how lucky I am that they are offering me the courtesy of a a $200 refund. I'll let everyone reading this review be the judge of whether the $200 makes me whole after paying $3,950 for a Bay Area to SoCal move and tipping the movers $400. I sure think this company is unethical, unempathetic, and underinsured. You should avoid them unless you want to risk ending up like me (in the hole $2,000 for my bed and $400 for an underserving tip). Update: In reply to Mikalai's comment: Your lies and misdirection only implicate you further. Let's start with your point number 3, which is a brand new lie where you are now claiming your crew showed me all the damage to the bed upon the bed's arrival in my home. If your crew showed me the damage upon the bed's arrival, why then (as you put it) would I wait until an hour after they left, and perhaps 3 hours since they brought the bed into the home for assembly, to notify you of the damage and ask for a resolution? Better yet, why would I give them a $400 tip while in the midst of "threatening, swearing and humiliating" them? You can see from my photos that there were no nails in the tops of the side panels. Are you seriously claiming that Clutter decided to mysteriously drill random nails into the side panels of the bed one night while it was in storage and disassembled? It is clearly a botched attempt at assembling the bed by somebody who had no idea what they were doing - your employee. Yes, I underestimated the replacement value of my bed in my email to you, which I wrote from my iphone based on vague memory just after discovering the wake of your crew's damage. I called up West Elm today to order and new one and it will cost me over $2,000 to replace. I will go through with the purchase tomorrow morning and post my receipt, item number, and photos of the order here. It is a king size Logan Industrial Platform Bed if you wish to call West Elm and inquire about the bed yourself. The most disappointing of all your lies is your defamatory claim that I screamed and swore at you, and humiliated you and your crew. I got along great with your crew and I was delighted to give them a $400 tip (unfortunately under the false pretense of a job well done and without damage to my property). It is a shame that you ruined an otherwise pleasant service experience by dealing with one issue so dishonestly. Please cease with the character defamation. The photos I have provided and the contradictions of your stupid lies speak for themselves.
