I have been going to Gotham Archery regularly for about a month now and each time I am met with the same professional and friendly experience. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the venue is spacious and comfortable, and the equipment is top notch. I never shot an arrow before in my life but thanks to the instructor's guidance i shoot better each time I go. Always a good mix of new people and experienced shooters whenever I attend and whenever I bring people with me they always tell me what a great time they have had and want to come back. I cannot recommend Gotham archery any higher then that. In short its just a great place to go try something new and have great fun with friends and make new memories. read more

I loved it here! I took the intro course and quickly caught on. The instructor was a woman and unfortunately I forgot her name but she had red hair I believe. Needless to say she was amazing! Amazing experience! It was my sister's birthday and we wanted to something special for her. She loves being athletic. We did the introductory course. Upon arriving we were met with amazing staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Our course started off with the basic safety instructions. JB was so patient and friendly. I was a little scared because I'm just a scaredy cat when it comes to sharp objects but he was great. He helped me a lot with my technique and reassured my safety. I ended up having so much fun. After practice they divided the group and we did a little competition. We had colorful balloons as targets and go against each other other to hit a specific color. My sister, the birthday girl made it the final round. It was a great accomplishment. We had so much fun! We decided to extend the experience by going for another hour which was just $16 each. Great experience. Loved it. Even thinking about getting the membership! read more

These guys are not helpful I have driven there 40 minutes twice to be told I can't use the range. The 1st time it was late on a saturday it's understandable. The second time it was a tuesday and no one was there they said they couldn't let me shoot because I needed a lesson first. They never said that the 1st time I went. Also, like I said there were no paying customers they could've just shown me the range and told me the rules it would've taken 10 minutes and they would've had a customer for life. these guys stink. read more

A date took me here and i have to admit at first i wasn't really hyped. But i was wrong! Archery was such a fun experience! We went for the introductory class which gave us a few rounds of free shooting towards the end. It was about $35 per personn. The instructors were so chill and helpful in correcting our structures and teaching us how to hold and shoot the arrows. At the end there was a bonus round of popping balloons on teams so one person will win a prize of a tshirt. It was definitely a good idea for a date :) read more

They spend about 20 minutes going through the rules at stuff and then the fun begins. Because we came towards the end of the night the three of us had the instructor to ourselves. We had a great time here. We came as a group of 6 during a birthday trip out and the instructor was brilliant, had a great soundtrack, took the time with each person to make sure they knew exactly what they were doing, and made the whole experience fun even for people like me who know nothing about how to hold a bow! We held a birthday party at Gotham Archery for my daughter and twelve friends a few weeks ago, and it was so great I feel moved to write a review (something I'm usually only inspired to by a bad experience!). The two teachers were wonderful with this group of young teens, keeping them in line while engaging and teasing them; they made it really fun. It's really not a kid place, but they met them at their perfect level, which made them feel great. They learned a lot and had fun doing it. Under the throes of the urban forest (subway) I emerged. 7 minutes later, walking past hipsters and Brooklyn stroller moms, I was ready, bow and arrows in hand for my archery adventure. The site was a vast warehouse structure, clean and modern. The equipment was new and I felt invincible. I must admit, I'm more of a lover than a fighter but the staff at Gotham Archery were so friendly, helping me feel at ease for my first time practicing this medieval craft. Sir James of Gowanus (Teacher Jimmy) excelled at instruction. In no time, I was hitting bullseyes (although not all were on my lane). I learned so much about the technique and joys of archery. My 14 year old daughter did 2 weeks of camp at Gotham Archery this summer-one week at the Manhattan location, and one in Brooklyn. To say she loved it was an understatement! I tried this place a few times since they opened last year. The place is very spacious, but they are overpriced compare Proline and Queens Archery. I know this place caters to a complete beginners, but for people who really want to go deep into archery, whether if it's Olympic Recurve, Compound, or Bare/Traditional Bow, go to a place where experience archers shoot. And for people who have bows and live in Brooklyn who wants to shoot outdoors, there is an archery range in Floyd Bennett. It's $50 annually. read more

My husband and I wanted to try archery for a long time and it was every bit of the experience I pictured it to be and more. We came here on a double date with another couple. Jimmy was our instructor. He was professional and really funny we couldn't stop laughing. Everyone that is a beginner must take the introductory course as it is well worth it. Basically in 20 min you learned all the basic techniques needed, rules to follow and a nice introduction to archery. I'm usually clumsy when it comes down to hand eye coordination but archery def proves otherwise. I must applaud to our instructor Jimmy with his great training. Even my husband was amazed I had great form and many close calls aiming for the bulls eye. The energy is fun and energetic in there without being loud and crowded so it was perfect for our date night! Jimmy did warned us everyone leaves Gotham Archery happy! We weren't just happy, it got real addictive towards the last 15 min of it. After your hour they throw in an interactive game with other teams so the top player goes home with a winning tee shirt. It brings people together and share their experiences. I highly recommend this spot for date nights, activities to do before dinner, or just trying to challenge yourself to something out of the ordinary (as it was for me) oh, kids can join too 10yrs and up as we saw a family coming in too :-) read more

Gotham archery is a wonderful venue, easy to get to via public transportation or driving, super friendly and knowledgable staff, and overall enjoyable archery experience. I've been there on several occasions and each time I had a great time - learning, shooting and having fun! It's large venue that can accommodate larger groups and hosting of events (e.g. Recent successful wedding shower for the bride and groom). Everyone who went enjoyed their experience whether it was 1st timers or more experienced folks - the staff was able to work with all levels, they had ample amount of space and equipment for the whole party. They also hosted some fun different types of archery games specific to the shower which added a personalized feel and certainly made it more lively and added a little friendly competition!! I will certainly be returning soon and I know many 1st timers who have also now have a new found interest in archery who will return as well!!!! Had an unbelievable experience, all around, at Gotham Archery last week! Went with a few friends and was greeted by a very welcoming staff. Our instructor Frank was patient, funny and great to work with. All of the staff members treated us as if we were regulars and they accepted us right off the bat (despite our lack of Archery knowledge). After walking in with no prior experience, I can honestly say that one day in Gotham Archery helped me build a solid foundation and confidence in my abilities. Husband and I went on a whim as a change from the usual Saturday night dinner date (or doing the whole super played out boring bocce thing). This was way more fun! Staff ran us through some basic safety guidelines and how-tos, and then we had the rest of the time to practice shooting. Individual instructors walked around offering helpful tips or corrections, and the class ended with a balloon shooting game! Fun for beginners. Wanted to do something different so I took my wife here as part of her birthday weekend and both of us had alot of fun, everyone that works at gotham is very easy going and friendly, the price is nothing crazy that would make you not want to go, they are about a 10 minute walk from the Atlantic ave/barclay center train station so you have a ton of train options for getting to them, we agreed that we will definitely be going back to continue our hunger game training, the only tiny thing that they should maybe change is have the mandatory introductory class be 90 minutes instead of 60, their beginners lesson takes about 30 minutes so you'll only have 30 minutes of target shooting which is not alot, but the plus side you never have to take that lesson again. read more

I booked for 2 people an archery intro class. Everyone was extremely nice and professional, they wanted to guarantee no accidents. It was actually very fun event, and in the end we had a little contest. They taught me how to use the compound bow. I don't remember the prices, but it was very reasonable. I feel the only way for me to go back would be if I wanted to take archery more seriously since it is out of the way. Would recommend for anyone in Brooklyn that wants to try something new! read more

Just hosted another friends Birthday party here. It was amazing time. The instructors was so knowledgeable and fun she kept the party going for the full 2 hours. We had so much fun playing games and just chatting with her. They also gave us good food recommendations in the area. We order some pretty awesome pizza and brought in cake. We had a blast. The instructors treated my 10 year old and 12 year old with total respect and they left feeling psyched about their abilities and eager to return.
