After much pressure from my husband, we finally went here for breakfast. We chose this over pancake house, ya'll. I walk in and the decor is typical cutesy industrial decor. It's not super inviting but charming. We were promptly seated. And the waitress was really nice and was always checking on us. And my side salad was boring My husbands croque madam was very bland and he didn't even get to the other half it was cold before it got to our table. My wife absolutely loves this place, and I mean LOVES IT. So I wanted to get her something nice and ordered a dozen small tarts for her birthday. When I got home I opened the box to check to make sure everything was right, and it turns out that the box they had placed the dozen in was too small, so they had just tossed one on top, smashing several others. Our first experience with Gourmandise was at the Downtown location. That's when we were hooked. We loved the food and you can't say enough about the dishes and the deserts. It definitely become a favorite very fast. The thing to be cautious about at this location is parking. Make sure you pay attention because you can get a ticket. I learned the hard way. Tonight we went to the Draper location. This is our second time there and we will go back. The food is consistently delicious and the deserts are fantastic. I will say I was disappointed in the service tonight. The waiter we had was seemingly in such a rush that he wouldn't really pay attention. They carry these electronic ordering devices and it really feels like you're talking to someone while they're looking at their phone. It is However, very nice that you pay right at the table and the don't walk away with your credit card. But I was disappointed that he was so dismissive. Sorry Jake but it wasn't our best experience. I got a pastry off of the light (er) breakfast menu called the strawberry ring, it had an eclair like pastry with sliced almonds on top and heavenly whipped cream inside filled with juicy strawberries. Word of advice, if you're going to get macarons, get the original and not the tropical. The tropical flavors are mostly Hit and Miss, while the original are all pretty good. read more

I have heard a lot about Gourmandise, and I can't say my first trip disappointed. Because it didn't. In retrospect, I wish I would have taken a snap of the Croque Madame. But I suppose it's good I refrained -- not because I couldn't have made it look better than the pics already posted here (I could have), but simply because photos could hardly do the meal justice. The perfectly poached eggs, the delectable béchamel sauce, even the devilishly good veggie hash (with a surprising twist of sweet fennel) -- was all so perfectly handled that calling it "croque" seems unfair, since nothing short of an awakening is what this dish brought me this lazy Sunday morning. I will definitely return to be raised from the dread of mediocre food once more -- and hopefully soon. read more

Dont get the breakfast burrito! This review is only about the burrito and how slow ordering via the drive-thru is, even when there are no other cars. It seemed like they either completely forgot my order or they were trying to deter customers from using the drivethru. I pulled up and ordered quickly, was told it would be a ten minute wait which is no problem. It was 20 minutes, they did apologize. The quality of this 10 dollar burrito was ridiculous! I was shocked at how stale, flavorless and bad the entire burrito was. The tortilla was SO stale it seemed like it'd been nuked into a tortilla chip via microwave. The scrambled eggs were dry and hard, like they were old(or reheated) and completely unseasoned. The "shakshuka" was watery and flavorless. I got 2 bites of avocado on the corner of the burrito, that was it. But the worst part was that 90% of the burrito was made up of the biggest, mealiest fingerling potatoes that tasted like dirt! They were so disgusting that I had to spit the first bite out and remove the bad potatoes. Which left me w/ shards of broken burnt tortilla and a chunk of old hard cold scrambled egg w tomato water dripping off. Don't get the burrito, they don't know what they're doing. Yesterday was my first time ordering at their drive thru in Draper. I expected it would take longer than the average drive thru but was ready for the wait for quality food. Much to my surprise I didn't wait longer than 5min. I ordered the Marinated Olives and Chicken Cobb Salad... The Marinated Olives were delicious! It came with a good amount of Olives, toasted crostini, and a little container of a balsamic reduction. It was the perfect little appetizer, and am already wanting to order it again. The Chicken Cobb salad had Chicken (obviously), Bacon, Blue Cheese, Hard-boiled Eggs, Cucumber, and Avocado with Blue Cheese dressing on the side. The salad dressing tasted homemade, they did a simple classic really well. I will definitely be going back to utilize the drive thru. Why get fast food, when you could get a healthy, homemade, quality meal just as quickly?! Don't forget to pickup a tasty treat while you're there. Treat yo'self! read more

i've tried a few things from gourmandise and my favorite along with many others has been the pasta with roasted tomatoe and brown butter sage cream sauce. I ordered it online today and went in to pick it up and found out that they completely got rid of it!!! To say the least i am very sad along with many others and so surprised they got rid of one of the best things on their menu!! Super disappointing. I asked for a refund and the girls in american fork weren't sure how to process the refund... they said hopefully it works and i get my money back in a few days..? haha not very reassuring.
