This place's food quality is like the discounted version of the downtown one but charges full price. The two times I ordered dessert through drive-thru, cakes were both not fresh. The cake layer was dry, maybe because it was not made the same day. The sliced cake portion was smaller than the one given at the downtown location too. How did I not know Gourmandise had a dinner menu?! I've only been to the SLC location for brunch but happened to see the place (Draper) was packed tonight and decided to give it a try. First I want to give praise to our waitress, Kayla. She was so friendly, attentive, and did a fantastic job serving us. The food was DELICIOUS. We tried the Brussels appetizer which was rich and flavorful. The stew was incredible and tri tip super tender. My husband and I were also very happy about the la barba coffee. We love the Salt Lake location and frequent it quite often. We expected the same great quality food from this location, and unfortunately there were so many downsides to our food. The chocolate croissant and French toast both felt like old/frozen bread that was impossible to cut through with a fork and knife. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict, and instead of poached eggs he received hard boiled eggs. They re-did it, and then left off the hollandaise sauce. It definitely left a lot to be desired! A great treasure in Draper that is stepping up to the challenge Covid-19 is presenting. We ordered one of their takeout meals. The pulled pork and polenta was awesome! The whole family was pleased. I've been to this location several times and Aldo the airport and when my daughter needed a celebratory lunch , I aimed my car to the Draper location. It was a few minutes after noon and it was busy inside do we decided to do the drive through Ordered sandwiches and soup so the women who took our order said it would take 10-15 minutes to put together. Drive around to pay snd the young man took my payment , graciously got my daughter and ice water gave me my receipt and walked away. I was confused , went around to front parked assuming they would bring our order out. 15 minutes plus passed snd I went inside to check and the young man whom took payment said " where did you go you weren't in park and wait ,so I just thought you left ". I " you didn't tell me where to park so I was just out front ". He handed me my order. I asked if the chi latte was there he no he came right back and handed me the latte. Got into my car latte was Luke warm and I was mad. I love the food and pastry. It's always good but my customer experience was disappointing. I know it gets busy, but an apology and a " let me remake your latte " would have soothed my rumbled feathers. read more

The employees at this location need to learn to be more attentive, I watched my boyfriend stand at the register for five minutes as three employees were chatting, looked at him, and turned their backs. This is an experience I've seen a few times at this location, where I'll come in and there's no urgency, and it seems like the employees have an overall lazy and uncaring energy towards customers. Makes me almost not want to come in if the pastries weren't so good. It was a very horrible disgusting experience dining in yesterday as the place was infested with houseflies. Had to shoo away the flies eating our food as it kept landing everywhere including our drinks. Both me and my husband has bad severe diarrhea couple of times when we got home and also the next day. The health department must look and check on this unhealthy issue and eating environment! If i could give it less than a 1 star, i would. I bought a cake for a party and the cake was a literal rock, a saw probably wont even make a dent. I came back the next day for a refund but they refused to give us our money back. We argued and instead of giving us a refund, they gave us a gift card for $20 when the cake costed us $50. I told them "why should i get a gift card if i wont come back," they told me to give it as a gift. I wouldnt even give my worst enemy a gift card from this place. It was more like slightly peach flavored simple syrup. And the marzipan was so shocking!! Where is the actual marzipan?? What is this on top of the cake? Fondant?? Not too impressed with their drive thru! I ordered brussels sprouts and olives and waited 25 minutes! The server asked for a tip before I even got the food. Nobody told me they were backed up and I would have to wait longer than in some sit down restaurants for 2 little orders! TIP means to improve performance and I shouldn't have given them one! I had the croque madame which was good, my friend was very happy with her avocado toast, and the service was good. Before leaving, wanted a German chocolate cake to go, but their employee told me that it's been a few months since they stopped making this cake. Such a classic cake, what a disappointing surprise. I've been here before and had a pretty average experience but when I went in a few days ago I bought 2 cups of coffee, and a bag of coffee, on our way home my girlfriends coffee was great, but mine was incredibly hot, I know coffee is supposed to be hot, but mine was scalding, I waited 30 minutes for it to cool down and when I was actually able to drink it I immediately spit it out because they burnt the hell out of it and the milk tasted sour, once again my girlfriends tasted fine, I don't know why they made hers well and mine was a disaster but that's not even the worst part. The next morning I went to go make some coffee realizing the coffee they sold to me had expired TEN days before I bought it. I will never be back here again.
