Blown away!!! This food is so good. Like some of the best tacos I've had in my entire life (and that's saying something - I'm from Texas!) We arrived right near closing time and asked if they were still seating. There was no one else in the restaurant but they said the kitchen would still be open for a few minutes. So we quickly sat and ordered our tacos and margaritas. The staff was so so friendly even though we came in so late and treated us so well. We felt guilty we might be keeping them staying later than they intended, but they made us feel so at home and held as we waited for our food. They brought us chips and salsa which was some of the hands down most delicious salsa I've ever tasted. So unique and flavorful and beautiful. Then our tacos came. And they were so good my mouth is watering thinking about them now!! We ate our food in delight and chatted with the owner. She told us how her husband who is the chef comes up with new ideas all the time and takes things off the menu to make room for his new creations. Apparently people come back asking for one of his older dishes all the time! We can't wait to come back to try new concoctions, and bask in this beautiful, warm, romantic atmosphere. I met up with friends for a book club meeting at Gourmando. It was on a Saturday. There were only 2 parking spots available for customers but there was plenty metered street parking. It was a rainy day so I don't know if parking will be easy during a normal weekend. I ordered a burger, that was excellent. My friends seemed to have enjoyed their meal as well. We came in right before happy hour was over around 545. we ordered a few happy hour items and some from regular menu. We were never offered any water We had to ask for it. We were never told what the specials were if they had any which they did. (I'll explain in a min) we were kind of on our own. Andrew was our server a younger nice guy. He wasn't rude just wasn't very attentive or seem to be interested in really explaining anything to us. There was a couple seating near us (Myself, my husband and my 3 year old son) when we arrived. I'll also explain why I mentioned them as well in a bit. Anyway. Our cocktails were from the HH Menu and they were quite good. My son enjoyed his Shirley temple as well. We ordered two sliders and some fries for my son they were also on HH menu. My son was never given any kids crayons or anything kiddush that the restaurants normally give however when another group of people came in that who two kids with them were offered different kinds of things for the kids to fiddle and play with. My husband and I found that interesting... yes my tiddler had his iPad with him but it's never stopped any other restaurant for offering our child the same they offer to any other guests. I wanted to order the Lobster as my main dish but it was on the "teaser" side so when be beckoned Andrew over to ask him how small it was he indeed told us it was small portion and only as a appetizer. So my husband ordered that for for me and a entree. We later heard the other waitress tell the other table with the kids that the chef ‍ was offering the lobster roll as main dish with more lobster on a roll with just a small upcharge.. we also found that to be interesting because we were never told that even when we asked. The lobster roll was delightful I just wish we would have been told the same thing and I wouldn't have order the steak entree that was not very appetizing. I ordered it medium rare and it came back pretty much medium well. my son's sliders were okay and his fries were good. My husband got the Chauncey chicken with risotto cuss our son loves risotto. He said it was okay as well. Service was lack luster at best, food was mediocre and well felt snubbed. I over heard the man asking the couple next To us how their food was. His response was the octopus had no flavor and his and his steak Was not prepared the way that he wanted it prepared. Same as me. We dined here for Dine LA and the menu did not disappoint. The flavors and overall seasoning were spectacular and the cook on everything was spot on. Corkage fee is $15 and the service we received was unmatched and fantastic. This place has officially become my new favorite date spot. Went for the first time this week and enjoyed their lunch special. The cost was $25 and included soup, salad, Arnold Palmer or tea and an entree. The food was fresh and seasonal. I had butternut squash soup that was amazing. Their side salad included a light dressing with goat cheese, walnuts and pomegranate seeds. The food was very tasty and decent portion sizes. Not big but not small and about right for lunch time. Service was nice and friendly and prompt and the atmosphere is nice. Seems like newer tables and chairs which made it clean and comfortable. Oddly the bathrooms seem old and dirty so hopefully those will get a little make over at some point. Horrible service. We've been wanting to try Gourmando for a while and finally went today. The place was not crowded at all which doesn't make sense. We walked into the restaurant and were not greeted. Someone behind the bar stared at us and we had to ask if we could choose our own seat. We sat at a hightop booth and the booth next to us was noticeably uncleaned. Someone came and put a menu on the table without so much as saying hello. Just dropped the menu and moved along. Awkward. In the spirit of honesty, my meal was pretty good. That's the bummer of it all bc if the service were better I would go back. I had the farmers scramble and my girlfriend ordered lox. It took 30 minutes to get our food. I don't understand how scrambled eggs, and lox could take 30 minutes. On top of all that, there was an automatic 20% for gratuity. The truth is I still would have left 20% despite the fact the service was horrible and I won't be returning. I don't see how they can just add 20% for a party of 2. read more

Every bite of food is so delicious, the presentation of all the courses is outstanding, the service is excellent. and the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The lady and I wanted to try somewhere new for brunch so we took a walk over to Gourmando. For those in the know, they are the same owners as Prospect Gourmand and just as good. They have a large comfortable and tasteful space with a few parking spots in back. Good for small groups or a nice intimate meal. Since we were the only people (came in as they opened,) the service was impeccable. Fast on water, drinks, and orders. We had a wonderful chat with Issac the owner as well who was doing both front and back of the house. TLDR: we cleaned our plates and plan to come back. We had a French omelette, Salmon Benedict with a Bloody Mary, and shot of espresso to wash it all down. Service fee was included for a total just under $60. The omelette was superb. Light, fluffy and with a tasteful amount of gruyere. It was not cheesy/greasy. The omelette was topped with chives and served with arugula and a hash brown (more to come on the hash brown.) The Benedict was also a delight, with a fresh lox on a toast, hand poached eggs that had a runny yolk when you break into them (not the over hard poaching from a machine) and a good amount of hollandaise that didn't over power, served with arugula and that hash brown. The hash brown deserves its own write up. It was not what I was expecting but it was so much more. The secret is that the they roast the potatoes, then grate them and form them into patties with a mix of egg and spices. Then they fry it and you get this hash brown of joy with a soft center and crispy outside. It's perfect for soaking up eggs or covering in ketchup. Overall, this place was very good and I hope to keep coming back on a consistent basis. Support this small local businesses and enjoy their great food. read more

We had a tremendously frustrating meal here. Seated twenty minutes before someone took our drink order. They were not busy...there were only two other tables. And then it took another twenty minutes to actually get our drinks. I ordered a salad with salmon and dressing on the side. It came dressed and without salmon. Literally everyone at the table had an issue with their order. Timing was way off, and at least five times we actually had to get up from the table to find someone to ask for things. While we were up, we saw the woman who was our main server sitting at a table talking to friends. For at least ten minutes. While we needed things. Our brunch took two and a half hours, and not by choice. We asked to speak to a manager, but no one was around. Too many other great restaurants in Beverly Hills that care about providing acceptable service to their customers. I do not recommend. read more

I have been to this restaurant about five times so far, I have not had a bad dish yet, the service is amazing. I/we are greeted with a hug and smile. The chef stops by and checks in as well. Brunch with a croq madame pizza is absolutely amazing. But we believe you can not do wrong. The omakase menu is always definitely worth doing. What's better than finding a restaurant you absolutely love? When the owners open a second location. Through the years Prospect Gourmand has continued to expand on a large and devoted following. And getting a table started to become problematic. So, just when I'm thinking they need to expand, they do. (It's nice when you can be an amazing chef AND a mind-reader). Gourmando is the same in terms of excellence, but the chef/owners have gone out of their way to offer different dishes or put a spin on their standards. The space that used to be occupied by Il Buco has been brightened and opened up and is comfortable and inviting. Chef Issac is so talented. The food is fresh, made with quality ingredients and excellent (obviously, or nothing else would matter). Front of house, headed by Chancey is so welcoming. The food looked and smelled amazing! I was really looking forward to eating here. The service however was abysmal. The table next to me warned me about the ( total lack of) service; unless you were a friend of the owner but I wanted to like this place so badly that I powered on even though I had waited 20 minutes and still had not received a menu. Finally I went to the restroom and when I returned I had a gorgeous plate of blueberry pancakes on my table. I really wanted to dig in but since they were someone else's order I let the server know. They ended up giving the pancakes to a friend of theirs who had 2 bites and put them aside. By this time I really wanted someone to take my order. Finally after ordering 40 minutes later I noticed people that were already seated when I had arrived starting to get some of their orders. Realizing I couldn't wait to eat another 40 minutes for breakfast ( 1 hour 20 minutes) after entering, I decided to leave. Did I mention that the friend of the owners received fantastic service? Water refills being poured generously while my glass was empty and I was seated next to the 'friends'. Also the table to my side had a gross wet rag on it for half an hour. This place is a little gem with most charming decorations and the most unique food. The chef makes all the recipes and executes them beautifully, you seriously cannot find food like this at any other restaurant or even remake it at home. It was a very nice and relaxing energy and my waiter Nathaniel was a darling! Charming and attentive he made sure my needs were met. Although they seemed understaffed they took care of all their customers smoothly and efficiently so I made sure to leave them a fat tip. Went for their first Sunday service during their soft open and had one of the best pizza's in my life! I ordered the Margherita which was a perfect portion. Made from scratch with an excellent dough. The staff was friendly and attentive. I also got the pecan tart which was, as expected, delicious. Can't wait for them to get their liquor license and try their Bloody Mary's and will definitely have to try their dinner service once it's running. They've done a wonderful job giving the space a homey whimsical atmosphere that's only enhanced by the food. So glad to have a spot like this in the neighborhood! read more

Only opened for a few months, Gourmando is currently having their soft opening and they are off to a great start. The restaurant is an airy, modern, and comfortable space offering farm-to-table cuisine. Their menu offers items that are freshly made and served daily. Unfortunately, the 2 most popular items that I was excited to try for lunch were their squash blossoms and lobster tacos that were already sold out. But, I was able to try their big eye tuna sashimi appetizer which was a bit ambitious served with a horseradish creme fraiche and olive oil for a different spin. The steak frites which serves top tri-tip was nicely prepared and came with an arugula salad and some great french fries that I had with truffle butter aioli. Service was reasonable, very friendly and generally acceptable. As they move forward, they will probably be better staffed to support a packed house which they were not necessarily prepared to serve during their soft opening. Overall, a great dining experience though which should only get better as they gear up for their official grand opening of this neighborhood joint. read more

Gourmando is classy, elegant & sophisticated while still being warm, welcoming & unpretentious. The food is inventive & fresh while being soothing & satisfying like home cooking. It's the perfect balance of everything I look for. They even serve the breakfast menu through lunch, so I can also get second breakfast when I want, like the Croque Madame today! Oh, and if you can get here in time to try the broccolini soup, DO IT! So good! Although I feel that way about just about all of their dishes. Other must-try dishes: French omelette (the hash brown they invented for this is amazing), lobster tacos, blue lake beans, savory oatmeal porridge, grilled cheese (delicious and huge!), Croque Madame, squid ink carbonara (limited special)...
