Hmmmm...this place is...confusing. we would not come back here. This space is really bright, spacious, inviting. Bigger two tops than normal and everything feels very light and breezy. Service was attentive and kind. Parking is street only, but was quite easy at 1pm on a Friday. I wanted to like this place. The food, however, was a pretty serious disappointment, especially considering the price. I know that everything is expensive these days, but I've honestly had better tasting, more flavorful food, and cooked with more care at cheap diners than we did here. I'm not sure if we just came on an off day or time (Friday, 1pm). Waffles were clearly made earlier and then reheated. The server assured us that they have a waffle iron, and I believe them, but these were not fresh waffles. They were previously made, perhaps even that morning, and then re-toasted, resulting in a stale chewy texture that was just unpleasant. The fried chicken was just okay. The side of sausage was crazy over cooked and dry. They brought delightful room temperature whipped butter for the waffle, which was a real treat! They did have real maple syrup, which is a huge plus, but even that couldn't save this sad waffle situation. The Italian eggs toast was alright. Presentation was pretty. The eggs, advertised as "soft scrambled" were just regular scrambled. Decent enough but nothing approaching "soft". The truffle oil and the mozzarella were nice! The bread had a crust so hard I had trouble cutting through it, so I didn't have any. I ordered a side of the breakfast potatoes, but those also seemed previously made (tough and not at all hot) and reheated and weren't seasoned very well. I forgot we even had coconut fried shrimp until I was loading in pics for the review. It did not, in any semblance of a way, taste like coconut. Just regular old plain butterflied fried shrimp without any real flavor. The sauce was the star of the show. Orange juice was solid. Service was friendly, attentive and very kind regarding our issues. They offered to remove the waffle dish from our bill, but unfortunately the manager was on break and we were in a hurry to get to our next appointment, so we paid and left. read more

Terrible service unless the attitude is a theme here. Just seemed like plain ol' attitude (not "fun"). After verifying a detail about the food before ordering it and it turned out not as promised, the server asked how everything was. My daughter said, "I just thought..." and the server cut her off and said,"You just thought what??" We aren't/weren't difficult customers so this came out of nowhere. My daughter is a server and we are respectful of servers in restaurants. Nothing exciting about the lunch really but that was unpleasant. I hate to trash a business, so three stars. The bananas foster was one of the most delicious things I've had in a really long time, it was even served with a side of vanilla ice cream! We sat inside and it was nice, but they have outside seating that looks really cute too. All the servers were friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly. Gem. I've come here now, 3 times. I'll be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the food... yet. The Parmesan fries are great! The salmon tacos are far too messy, and weren't fried all the way. The Brussels sprouts were charred more than I'd prefer. BUT, my rating is solely based on the atmosphere, prices, and the service. I had a marvelous Italian dinner the night before. So, I wanted to start the next day with a good breakfast. Lucky for me, I was told about the Attitude Cafe. The funky, cool, not over-the-top, atmosphere was more than welcoming. We walked in, and commented on the swimming pool behind the back of the place; and was jokingly told that a 2-Margarita minimum would be enough to let us jump in! I'm so amiss in forgetting the owner's name; but he was one of the most friendly, accommodating restauranteurs I've met in a long while. I had the Smoked Salmon Benedict. DAMN, IT WAS GOOD!!!! My partner had the vegetarian (or is it Vegan...Christ, I don't know!) Mediterranean dish, and reveled about it all day! We were taken care of like family. We were visiting for a weekend of fun and Squid Games and were looking for a breakfast spot close to the Squid Games studio, and saw this place had good reviews. I was especially excited to try the smoked salmon benedict (which I ordered) because it really looked good in the photos. We were seated immediately upon entering the premises. The place wasn't busy yet when we arrived, but more customers started to trickle in. Service in the beginning was good, but as the place got busier, it was non-existent. The lady who checked us out (probably the manager or owner) told us that they were short 3 people that morning, so okay. The food was really good, which is the only reason this place gets 4-stars for me. Like I said, I had the smoked salmon benedict which was excellent. I didn't like how you have to pay $3 more to get sides, and when I asked for fruit, they didn't have it. I overheard a server also telling another table that they didn't have the ingredients to make a mocha latte. Hmm. The wife got the bananas foster french toast, which was divine. I actually ate my whole plate of salmon benedict plus a whole slice of her french toast. It was THAT good. Maybe on a fully staffed and fully stocked day, I'd give this place 5 stars. read more

I was in the area for the Grove and found this place due to a quick search and it was a pleasant surprise! I arrived around 1 pm and was seated right away. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left, the service was fantastic! Very attentive and friendly :) For food, we ordered the brisket hash and the frittata omelette with potatoes. Food took a while to came, I even went to the bathroom, waited in line and it still did not arrive (not to mention there was a man tanning by the outside pool of what seemed like a hotel, next door??) but the food was amazing! A really nice breakfast in a casual and hip setting. You can sit indoor or outside by the pool which most people seemed to prefer today for a Sunday 10:30AM breakfast. The restaurant is located right next to a hotel so their pool is visible from the restaurant which has tables that wrap around the exterior of the pool . The menu is really large and they have a lot of great options on it. Our server was polite, however, our service was very slow. Parking in this area is pretty easy because you can park in the neighborhood behind the restaurant if there are no metered spots right in front of it. We ordered the Croque Madame, which was very good and was unique in that the ham was thick. The gravy on top was especially good, and I would order it again. We also ordered the American Vombo and especially liked the pancakes and eggs. Overall a really great breakfast in an easygoing setting, somewhere that you would want to sit for awhile. gimme some attitude! Admittedly, we chose this restaurant because of its close proximity to The Grove shopping center. PARKING / SETTING We honestly didn't search for any nearby parking lots as we found street parking directly in front. Attitude Cafe is situated adjacent to a hotel, and therefore some of the guests were already dining when we arrived. The restaurant is spacious, bright and very inviting. We arrived around 9am, and were thankful there was no wait. FOOD / DRINK We started off with coffee (of course) while we perused the menu. As we were both quite hungry, everything on the menu looked very appealing. I finally decided on the eggs benedict with fries (no hash browns, sadly), while my friend chose the brisket hash (one of their popular dishes) also with fries. We had intended to share the french toast in addition to our entrees, but the server forgot to add the dish to the order (which was fine with us as we were getting full by the time we remembered). I was quite impressed with the eggs benedict, as the ham was an extremely generous portion, and the hollandaise was evenly distributed. The fries were crisp and a very interesting accompaniment to a breakfast dish. My friend was very taken with the brisket hash, and finished (not surprisingly) the entire portion. SERVICE Our female server had such a wonderful attitude! She welcomed us as soon as we walked in, and seated us in a corner of the restaurant away from other diners. She served us coffee while we looked over the menu, and patiently answered all our questions. Although she forgot to place the order for the french toast, she was very apologetic about the situation. BOTTOM LINE A great breakfast restaurant in LA! All the staff have such happy attitudes, and the entrees were pure comfort foods for sure. Recommended. read more
