I will start off by saying how tedious and annoying Olive Garden's "wait list" option is. I don't even know why they offer this option as you still need to physically go inside the restaurant before you are added to the queue. Somehow their system glitched and texted us with a message saying that our place in line was canceled, but when we called in to ask why it got canceled, they said they weren't sure why it happened, but our table would be ready in 18 minutes, so we started heading over from Willowbrook Mall. However, when we got there about 18-20 minutes later, they said our table wasn't ready yet and it would be at least another 15 minutes. Their system is clearly dysfunctional and disorganized. We wasted a significant amount of time for something that should have been time saving and straight forward. Now on with the actual dining experience. We enjoyed their breadsticks, although we did find they had less butter and seasoning on them than before. Their chicken gnocchi soup was satisfying. I enjoyed their chicken masala dish. I enjoyed both fruity ice tea options that they offered. However, neither of them had distinctive flavors. I left very full and had leftovers. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing. The restaurant is in the run down side. It could definitely use a fresh coat of paint at the very least. The bathroom stalls were dirty in the corners and there was a lot of toilet paper on the floor instead of in the toilets, which happened to be un flushed. There was no wait for a table and our request for a booth was granted, conveniently next to a wall plug, which my dying phone desperately needed. Our server was efficient and mostly professional but we could tell something was bothering him. Slight attitude, but we didn't take it personally. At the end he seemed to chipper up and even gave my husband his free Birthday desert with no problems at all. The best part of the entire meal were the breadsticks which were amazing! Soft and warm, with the perfect light crunch on the outside and delicious buttery flavour. The rest of the food sadly wasn't as good as I remembered The salad was a bit lacklustre. Could barely tasted the dressing on it, the lettuce was wilted and the croutons were rock hard. We chose 2 Fettuccine Entrees to share- the crispy chicken Alfredo (which of the two was by far superior) but the sauce was too thick and rich. I couldn't eat much. We also chose the Steak Gorgonzola Fettuccine. It came with Blue Cheese (which overwhelmed the entire dish) spinach & sun-dried tomatoes (barely enough to even mention) and the streak tips which were the best part of the dish. Balsamic was requested on the side as I am not a fan. Once again the Alfredo sauce was way too thick, that along with the overly strong cheeses made it nearly inedible. Perhaps the sauce had sat all day, (as we did come just before 9pm) but one would hope that it would still be made fresh ?? I ordered a Bellini after our server confirmed they did have a blender. Sadly this was not the type of Bellini that you would normally get at say Joeys or Cactus or even Old Spaghetti Factory. It was creamy and kinda bland. A grenadine topper would helped tremendously. It was my first time at olive garden and my friend was obsessed with the unlimited breadsticks! Since I am on a diet I didn't want to use up my calories on breadsticks so I gave her my share and instead went for 2 servings of the gnocchi soup. It was very creamy and I wish I had gone for a tomatoe based option instead, as I was way too full to finish my entree.... I had ordered the chicken and shrimp spaghetti and the chicken was surprisingly breaded! But the shrimp was a generous portion and not overcooked. Although it took a long time for the server to come by and take our orders, he was friendly and kept our waters topped up. Went right near opening on a weekend and got seated right away! The restaurant slowly filled up right after and people kept coming in. It has a comforting homey vibe and the booth we were seated in was very spacious and comfortable. Service was so friendly and attentive, and manager (I think) even came to double check on a friend who had a food sensitivity. I ordered the Five Cheese Ziti Al Forno ($21.79) and of course it came with neverending salad (or soup) and breadsticks! While it's not the most amazing or refined dish, it is comforting and hit the spot. It was served nice and hot, had a great layer of melted cheese, and a tasty tomato creamy sauce mixed in the pasta. The only beer they had on draft that day was bud light. The lasagna itself was very average. Always long lines during dinner, so beware! This place is typical for the Olive Garden experience if you've been to one in the US before (or other Canadian locations). Endless breadsticks, salad, and soup to complement your pasta dish. Staff here were friendly, but the place could be a bit cleaner. It's not bad, but you'll notice some food crumbs on the floor or on the seats if they've just cleaned up after the previous patrons. Plenty of free parking in the lot. The first thing I noticed upon entering is the smell. Very unpleasant smell near the entrance/lobby, but is gone once you get to the seating area. The best thing about this place is probably the breadsticks. So soft, so warm, so comforting. (Even though they were inconsistent; some were salted more heavily than others}. I also like their soup menu as there are so many options, and they are bottomless too. I tried the minestrone soup and the zuppa toscana soup, I much preferred the zuppa toscana (kale and italian sausage). I went for lunch and they have a special lunch menu (half the portion of dinner at a lower price). I chose the shrimp scampi and I have no complaints but also nothing to call home about. I appreciated the plentiful of shrimp that was in this dish. Besides the comforting pasta, the selling point is the 'unlimited breadsticks and soup or salad.' However, I was puzzled when the first batch of breadsticks were served and there were only 4 for the 6 of us. We got a second batch no problem but the third batch took over 20 minutes. I'm not sure why a restaurant advertising for 'unlimited' don't have them readily baked. Our server was nice, polite, and attentive. This was an awful place to work with extremely poor management. One manager, Denise, singled me out nearly every shift. She constantly micromanaged me, criticized my every move, made comments about my appearance (including my nails), and embarrassed me in front of coworkers and customers whenever I made a mistake. What made this worse is that many of these "mistakes" were due to terrible training. Training lasted only about four days and was completely inconsistent. New hires were frequently trained by employees who had only been working there a couple of months themselves. We were expected to know everything immediately, and when we didn't get something right the first time, management treated us as incompetent. I was written up rather than offered any additional training. It's no surprise this place has such a high turnover rate when employees are treated like this instead of being supported. This was my first time trying the lunch special at Olive Garden, and wow it's a STEAL!! I got the five-cheese ziti al forno, and ended up eating two huge bowls of soup and two or three bread sticks. The soup bowls seem larger than at dinner. My favourite soup continues to be the zuppa toscana -- it's a delicious bowl of comfort. The server said the lunch entree is small, but it seemed like a regular-sized meal to me lol. The five-cheese ziti was quite good. A little too saucey for me, so I used the sauce to eat with my bread sticks. Yummy! The bread sticks didn't seem as fresh or salted today. I guess it's all about your expectation. Came to $100 for 2 people to have two entrees, one soft drink, one glass of wine, one dessert before tip. You decide. Waitress and all service was pretty good. So we tipped the waitress well. Breadsticks are fresh and hot but a little bland. I recall them being tastier. Tossed Salad used to fresh and crisp and lightly dressed. This salad looked like tossed salad from a grocery store bag that was two days past its prime and was drowned in dressing. Instead of ordering more we didn't even finish it. I make a " copycat" Olive Garden dressing from the web that's 100x better than what this was. The salmon( farmed) was ok on the outside but mushy inside. The shrimp scampi had very little taste except the sauce tasted a little like dishwater mixed with floral dish soap. The prawns were just poached and anemic looking. Cheese cake was bland and unmemorable if that's possible for cheesecake to be- quite the feat. I really don't get this restaurant"s popularity. Every Olive Garden I've ever been to is pretty much consistent. Pretty good food, pretty good service, pretty cool break out style rooms to eat in. I would say that the food is average. American style, Italian cuisine if you will. But just average. My preference if I'm going to pay this much money, would be to get homemade pasta and homemade sauces. read more

We went to Olive Garden Restaurant after a few months gap. The service ,quality of food, free flow of Bread Sticks with Soup or Salad was still being offered, The Main Dish prices however had increased by 20-25 % , but taste remained the same. One of the "noticeable" omissions in the restaurant menu was that the dishes "barely" had any semblance of vegetables added in them -which was disappointing to vegetarians like us. Further with the general trend nowadays for more vegetarian dishes, I believe Olive Garden should have a Separate Vegetarian Menu & offer well known italian vegetarian dishes likes , Cauliflower Au Gratin, Penne Paste baked with spinach & cheese, Plain Spaghetti baked with cheese & flavoured with gorgonzola cheese, Baked Eggplant etc. Also Meditteranian Pizza, with olives, bell peppers, gorgonzola cheese, jalpenos, onions , tomatoes should be introduced & also available as a calazone. I believe these dishes will enhance the variety & tastes for customers. Lastly Veg Pannini Sandwiches with fries should be introduced as another dish. 5 star for the exceptional service we received at Olive Garden by Raj. The service made the whole night/experience. Fun fact: they still don't make reservations but you can add yourself to the waitlist which was incredible. The place was packed (as per) and surprisingly, we didn't wait long (thanks to the waitlist). We were sat immediately but did have to wait for our server. Totally understandable because of the situation and thankfully, we got Raj! He was so attentive, kind, and the banter was so fun! We each ordered our meals that come with their delicious salads and breadsticks! I just want the salad! It is so fresh and consistent. My sisters ordered the gnocchi soup (nice and creamy and she loved it) and calamari (huge portion and not greasy). I ordered the alfredo with a side of broccoli and its just consistent and creamy. Plus it's enough for 2 people. My sisters all got different desserts (Tiramisu, Sicilian Cheesecake with Strawberry, and Warm Italian Donuts) and like a true middle child, I HAD to try each. It was my first time visiting this Olive Garden. I had no idea there was one in Canada until my daughter mentioned it, so of course we had to go! They don't take reservations, however you can go online and select the "join the waitlist" to hold your spot until you get there. We were coming from Vancouver, so just when leaving home I checked us in (still a 61min to 70min wait time) when we got there it was packed!! The good thing is, they're located in a busy strip mall. We still had 40min left in our wait-time so we went shopping and they text you when your table is ready. When we were being guided to our table, I noted the set up of the restaurant. It was like being in someone's home. It was cozy, warm, and smelled delicious. Staff were prompt and our food was brought out piping hot and in a timely manner. We were on the waitlist for a group of 6, but it was mistaken as 4. We were told to wait an extra 15-20 minutes, which we did patiently. Still no text after 20 minutes, so we went in to check, only to be met with unprofessional attitude from the Filipino hostess, who told us to wait longer with no explanation. Five minutes later, we received a text saying our waitlist was cancelled. When we returned to ask, another Asian hostess with glasses insisted our table had been ready and we missed the text, despite us having just been inside talking to the other hostess minutes before. I even showed her my phone, which had no such message, but she continued to blame us. My very first time at olive garden, the unlimited breadsticks were bomb The dinner menu also comes with side of soup that is never ending! Such a good deal! I got to try so many different soups so delicious. The classic minestrone soup is all veggies , my partner enjoyed the chicken and gnocchi the zuppa toscana that had spicy Italian sausage and kale was worth it and pretty good and the pasta e fagipoli was a happy medium with beans, beef, tomato and pasta. I love these savoury broth soups perfect start to the meal. For the mains, we got chicken Alfredo - the chicken was tender and the saucy was so creamy. And a lasagna Classico I had to try their lasagna, it's nice the cheese baked on top but kinda disappointing with the presentation how it's smacked and sadly looks like a messy pile onto the plate. Would have loved a better playing choice or structure to the lasagna to make it more appetizing. I had the cheese ravioli with meat sauce and was pleased with what I was presented with. The portion was adequate and not excessive. I'd argue that if it wasn't for the unlimited breadsticks there wouldn't be anything to differentiate the meal from most other casual Italian eateries. However, I understand the appeal. It's perfect for a family meal with a menu large enough to cover any pasta lovers requirements. It was void of gnochis...5 in total . The take out order does not include bread sticks. I would have been better off to open2 cans of Campbells clam chowder. We have been enjoying Olive Gardens for years and always look forward to a visit. Yesterday did not disappoint. Other than a 25 minute wait (told 15-20) everything was Good. Server Aaron was excellent. We started with Italian Margaritas which are worth the trip alone. The Salad and breadsticks were good as always. I had my standby, Shrimp Alfredo which was yummy and plentiful. My Partner had the Ravioli Carbonara and it was excellent. Very rich with a beautiful presentation. You wouldn't expect a Ravioli dish to be so filling but the Carbonara was perfect. $90 with tip made for an expensive lunch but it was worth it. We will be back. read more

As per my usual habit of indecisiveness, I spent too time analyzing Olive Garden's menu, carefully selecting what I would order upon arrival. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior - quaint and rustic. Heres what I ordered: House Salad, Zuppa Toscana Soup, and Fettuccine Alfredo. House Salad: Chilled, crunchy, delicious. The ultimate food for health nuts and people who don't like salads because you will like this salad. The vinaigrette tops it perfectly. Also, the bowl is huge. Zuppa Toscana Soup: comfort soup with a blend of spicy Italian suave, kale and potatoes. It's rich and creamy - everything you'd want in a soup. Fettuccine Alfredo: Rich and creamy, but perfectly bland. Personally, I find it paired best with the House Salad. The amount of salt and tanginess of the salad accompanies the creaminess of fettuccine nicely. The food is none other than splendid and so is the service. I've visited the OG in Bellingham, WA, USA and the one in Champaign, IL, USA. For many reasons, I confidently state that the OG here in Langley is my favourite location. The staff are incredible. I had teo friends visiting from Calgary and because they had never been to an OG before, I took them here. They both loved the place! There was a water-spilling mishap on one of the girls but our server was more than apologetic. The manager even came to our table to personally apologise and we were offered a free dessert. We also learned that if any stain-leaving drink were to be spilled, OG would pay for dry cleaning. So in short, they're amazing! This was my first time visiting the Olive Garden in BC as my previous encounters were only in the states. The service felt a little bit different and not quite as high as US standards (for the franchise) but the staff were still courteous and kind. Our actual table server was also very nice and prompt. We waited about 10 minutes for our table which was reasonable. The restaurant wasn't overly busy itself but it was a snow day so I can understand they were pacing out the tables so staff/kitchen weren't overwhelmed. There's quite a lot of "sections" and seating perfect for families and parties. Bread and salad were great as always (can't go wrong). The pastas itself (carbonara and Italian feast) we're just OK in my opinion and overly salted. The chicken parmigiana was perfectly crispy and cooked though! The fettuccini Alfredo was too sweet for my liking and not how I remembered it. The lasagna was great but again just too salted. Mint chocolates to end it which are the best too. Still a pricier meal for my liking. If you are there though and ordering an entree you can get select ones to go for $8 which is a really good deal. We arrived at Olive Garden at 5:30 pm on a Sunday long weekend and was told for a party of 8 there is an hour and a half wait (they do not take reservations). Since we drove an hour from Vancouver we decided to wait for a table. We enquired to the Host at 7:00 and he said that they are working on it and will be another 10 to 15 minutes. Twenty minutes past and he said the same line, We got a table at 7:40 pm (2 hour 10 minutes wait)!!! I had the chicken Gnocchi soup which was very good but the Shrimp Alfredo was very bland. Okay, I finally get the hype about Olive Garden. It might not be the best Italian food you can get, but I can't deny that it's tasty and is a great value for all the food you get. No wonder the place always seems to be packed! I ordered takeout from their online ordering system and it was super simple, with the food being ready exactly when they said it would be. When I got there, there was already a line of people waiting for tables. It's obvious how popular this place is. The service was stellar, with the staff being so friendly and helpful. I got the Tour of Italy, which comes with Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagna Classico, and Fettuccine Alfredo. The meal also comes with your choice of soup or salad (I chose the salad), along with two breadsticks. I thought it was a great deal for all the food you get. Honestly, I loved all three dishes that were included in the meal. They were really tasty and were definitely better than other pasta places I had recently tried. I'm not even a big Fettuccine Alfredo fan and I have to say that I actually loved theirs! I can see why it's so popular and I'd actually order it again. The red sauces on their Lasagna and Chicken Parmigiana were full of flavor and not bland. The salad was a nice portion and good accompaniment, while the breadsticks were nothing special. All in all, though, I'd order the Tour of Italy again in a heartbeat. I was so pleasantly surprised! I will most definitely be back to try their other dishes.
