Came in on a dreary soaking wet Sunday night and was told of a wait time of at least 30 - 40 mins . We checked OG's waitlist next door's right away and they are about the same so we opted to stay since it's literally raining cats and dogs outside . We were told not long after that they had run out of ribs . Nooo . Lucky for us I guess is that they're still serving beef ribs and sirloins so steak it is then . After seeing so many of their TV commercials during Olympics coverage on CBC, we just couldn't resist driving the 2-3/4 hours from Sammamish WA to give them a try. We were not disappointed! TERRIBLE! I ordered the Buttermilk Chicken and it was so burnt I had to throw it out and the mashed potatoes were gummy and had no seasoning. My husband got fish and chips which were also way overcooked and came with no tartar sauce (what's the point of fish without tartar right?) and it was all just a hot mess. There were a couple of open tables though while we were waiting that didn't seem to get filled up very fast and a few newly seated people who hadn't received menus or drinks yet. When we were seated though we were taken care of pretty quickly. Waiting for the food was a little agonizing as we were hungry and only getting hungrier, but when the food did arrive it was amazing! Fall off the bone ribs with a great amount of sauce, the veggies that I ordered were sauteed to perfection and the sauce/spice combo on them was incredible, our drinks were constantly refilled, and they give you a good helping of fries. We even had dessert we were so happy with the food quality- the dessert was a tiny bit disappointing because we ordered the cookie with icecream and the picture had shown cookies the size of the skillet but we were given cookies the size of our own palms... Still, it was delicious and I just ate the leftover ribs I couldn't finish the night of. Still delicious three days later and microwaved! // Right, I also wanted to mention that while there are good handicap parking spots, the place is a bit cramped. Do NOT order the AYCE ribs here. They purposely make you wait progressively longer between your next order of ribs. They only give you ¼ of a rack each time but it takes about 25 minutes for your first refill. Then about 35 minutes for the next and almost 1 hour for your third round. They do this and keep asking if you want another drink so you can get full on your drinks and get tired of waiting for the ribs. It only should take no more than 10 minutes as the ribs are already pre cooked. They only have to stick it in the oven to warm up a bit. Also, the consistency of the meat is TERRIBLE!!! First piece was ok. The subsequent one were either too tough or too dry and full of fat. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant. read more

Went on Sunday August 6th for lunch. We had been there the previous week and had pulled pork sandwich, and it wasn't pulled pork, just big hunks of pork. Usually a great signature sandwich for them. Went back Sunday and ordered them again. It first took almost 15 minutes after we were seated to get service! Lack of servers! The sandwich had no sauce, so the server brought some, when we complained about the sandwiches, we got a SORRY! We sent in a complaint and the manager called and told us that they would use it as a training experience. No mention of making it right or sympathy! Very POOR customer service. $50 wasted and will never go back. When you have a chance to make it right, and you don't, you don't value customers. Shame on you! read more

Last time I ordered pick up via their app, not only did they lose my order, then it was reentered twice and I had to wait while they figured out the mess. Tonight we ordered via Skip the Dishes and the ribs we ordered were missing. I called Montana's where they told me their manager says all items were packed and checked off. That it's Skip the Dishes's problem cuz the driver had access to the order. I said the sealed bag I received from the driver was not opened in the least and it's Montana's that screwed this up! They wouldn't budge. Skip the Dishes customer service provided a refund as that's all they can do. Montana's you ruined my dinner, my night and will never have my business again. read more

For a bbq restaurant I was very surprised that we had to send back 2 steak dishes and a fried chicken for not being cooked properly. One steak that was ordered medium came back super bloody and rare. the other steak was ordered medium rare but came back well done. and then my fried chicken was black and burnt, they tried to cover it up with gravy. we sent the food back and they came back with another round of food. this time my chicken was still really dark and crispy but atleast not burnt. and both steaks were still not cooked to the desired temperature. but we were tired of waiting and very hungry, so we ate it anyways. the restaurant was nice enough to not charge us extra for the second chicken and steaks. and also took 50% off one of the steak dishes only. friendly staff but you come to a restaurant for good food and that's not what we got. if you want good bbq, i suggest skipping montanas in Langley. read more

Got some gift cards from my company for Montana's and decided to get take out. What a mistake, we ordered two lg ribs with loaded backed potatoes and sides. The ribs were very dry, they tried to cover this with some extra sauce and the backed potatoes were burned and must have sat in the drawer for a while. I wish I would never ordered from them, what a discussing meal, we did through most of it in the garbage and ended up getting some other food. Don't go to their Langley location.... read more

I have got to say that this whole experience was one I'll never forget. I came here all the way from Burnaby because the one in Coquitlam has closed and my boyfriend really wanted to come here for his birthday dinner. I expected the same quality and service as I usually got at coquitlam but surprisingly it was the complete opposite. My server was subpar, didn't really check on us and I had quite a few problems with the food quality. Let's start with the appetizer- Four cheese spinach dip This was ok I mean it wasn't exactly hot when it came out but it was acceptable. The pita was a bit oily and the tortilla chips soggy and tasted stale. Main- Brisket Grilled Cheese w/ Fries and a cornbread This was absolutely disgusting. The bread on the grilled cheese was soggy and didn't hold anything just completely fell apart. The fries were fine probably the only thing that was good. The cornbread....OMG THIS DARN CORNBREAD. It was as hard as a hockey puck maybe even harder. I could barely bite into it and it just crumbled like a cracker. It looked and felt like it was overcooked and sat out to get cold before serving. All you can eat ribs This was for my boyfriends meal. He seemed to like it but his cornbread was also hard. Not as hard as mine but still no acceptable anywhere. It was awful. Also, since when can you not share?! At coquitlam they really didn't mind as the price we were paying was $30 for gods sake are you seriously going to police my boyfriend giving me a little taste of his pork ribs?! I had my food packed up as I don't believe in wasting food and I know that they won't be donating uneaten food to homeless so I'm going to go do that myself. She took my food away and brought it back promptly for me to realize she just took the paper from the plate and stuffed it all I emphasize on stuffed like crammed everything into a smaller container and that paper had some ketchup on it for my fries and now it's all over the food....- .- All in all. My experience here was less than acceptable. The wait was long for not many people here and the service was fair to be nice. I would not recommend anyone go here. If you want ribs go elsewhere literally you're probably better off at white spot to be honest. This is the last time I'm ever going to Montana's. Langley ruined this franchise. Edit- we also told the server at the beginning before we ordered that we had a coupon and she said that she would take it after as the manager would need to do it. 4-stars go to the food that I went for - the ribs. It was my first that there so I went for the AYCE back ribs ($28.79). There were 5 choices for sauce and I tried 4 of them. The winner is good ole Texas Bold. The sauce was just right and the meat just melts in your mouth. The other sauces were a tad dry for me, but tasty nonetheless. Service was very good, but the wait for long at times. We were promptly seated and the waitress came by to greet us quickly. The wait was for the food itself but it was worth it as most of us were all satisfied with our food. The kids menu full size burger was especially at good deal at $6.99. The cheese pizza apparently was not a hit though. So based on my experience and the other reviews here, I'd stick with what they're famous for - the ribs. If you want Mexican, go to a Mexican restaurant. Oh, and BTW, according to the waitress, I only ate the equivalent of one and half portion of a normal "large" order of back ribs, which meant I basically got my money's worth but not a "deal". Went here for dinner as the Montana's by the theatre is closed down. Ordered appies, buffalo cauliflower bites and Kapow shrimp. Both were good, the shrimp could have been cooked a little crispier. The three entrees that were pulled pork sandwich, buttermilk chicken and 7 ounce hand carved steak with the creamy shrimp. My shrimp was forgotten, but as soon as I told the amazing server JACKSON, he got the kitchen to make it. Took $5 off for that. Drinks were good too. We went to Montanas tonight for Valentines/ anniversary. We took the kids, 2 adults and 2 just pre teen as we wanted a family night. The wait to get in was over a half hour. We were finally seated and the first of the wait staff informed us there weren't any steak or all you can eat ribs. What?? They should have told us this when be booked our table Friday evening at 8 30 and no meat. Then a second server said they had ribs...???? Then a third came by and said they were out of steak and ribs. My daughter said to my wife that we should go to Spaghetti Factory and all of a sudden they were checking to see if there were ribs. What!!!! We decided to go for alternative meals. Big mistake. The pulled pork and brisket we ordered were hard, salty and garnished with Cole slaw that had the consistency of hay. My wife had ordered the brisket potato skins as an appy but they were rock hard and inedible. The only good thing to happen was our orders were comped by the shift manager. I would have pounded sand if a bill arrived and taken a chance of spending the night in the bucket. At least they get you Timmy's or McDonalds, which on this night, would have been a better choice. C'mon Montana's. We've been customers for years but if this is what it's become.... We won't be back. Zero stars for this one. read more

My friends and I went here for my gf's birthday and we were less than impressed. The service was lacklustre. I waited 20 mins for a menu, and my water was never refilled (and we were there a long time-- for appies, mains and dessert). The salads ordered were supposed to be what I like to call a "sexy salad" (aka a salad loaded with with fruit, nuts, fancy cheese, etc.) and came served on ICEBERG lettuce. This is such a no-no with me and just makes a quality dish look tacky and cheap. On to dessert-- they were out of the apple crisp (all I wanted on the menu), but that happens. Shortly after the birthday entourage came out singing, placing a moose hat on my friend, clapping, the whole hullabaloo (I can dig it) but topped it off with the most anticlimactic dessert: a tiny (and I mean TINY) spoonful of chocolate ice cream surrounded by whipped cream in a small dish. A group of friends and me after seeing a movie decided to give Montana's a try as few of us had ever been there. They were very busy and we in order to get all seven of us chose the patio. We were told that due to the new Golden Ears Bridge they were much busier than usual and perhaps the kitchen was no longer capable of keeping up. Yet the mistakes kept piling up one after the other. First a wrong side order and then the wrong main dish. Next up was an incorrect appetizer to which we were promised a replacement that only came when we were ready to leave. They did not seem all to apologetic and had more of an attitude that "well that's just how it goes". Anyway, fresh off the worst experience ever at East Side Mario's, Montana's was pretty good by comparison. We went there for lunch so the place wasn't too busy or too noisy. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable-ish. I say ish because I asked him which was the better soup and he said "Chicken Noodle?" As a question. I ordered the minestrone. It was from a can. I had the Lunch Trio, which is soup, salad and 1/2 a sammy. My turkey club was decent, soup was lackluster and caesar salad was pretty good. Real type bacon product sprinkled on top and shaved parm cheese. The hubs had the pulled chicken wrap and found a 3" chicken bone in the second half. It killed his appetite. Gross. I wish i had nastier things to say about Montana's. I wanted to work in the title Montana's Craphouse. AMIRITE! Heyo!
