Loyalty goes along way, and I need that with my type of hair ha ha! The place is situated with in a plaza, and there is a sign leading to the area which can be hard to find. There is ample parking, and the place is full of seating. Usually when I go into mid afternoon there is nearly no one waiting, and I get my haircut done in less than 30 minutes. Prices are more than reasonable and start from $10 for a regular haircut, which is probably half the price that you would pay at most fancier places. Ask for Katie! She has been cutting my hair every 3 or 4 weeks for the last 2 years and she always does a great job! Very friendly and gentle, not scraping your head with the comb, jamming the clippers into your head, or smashing your ears like some other stylists have done to me in the past, and the cut is always great too. I get a skin fade (not quite high-and-tight military style, but almost). It's really cheap too, only $8 or $9 bucks depending on what type of cut you get, but personally I happily tip her $6 on top of that and pay $15 out the door...that's a minimum of what you'd pay at a lot of other places NOT counting the tip! read more

Just got a haircut from Becky. Very simple cut but I was pleased with the outcome and the experience. She was very pleasant and we chatted throughout the haircut as if we had known each other for many years. The Price for a base men's is now $9 which is very reasonable. I'd throw in an extra $6 for tip to make it $15 and you are still at half the price of the places in the mall or the trendy places like Floyd's etc.. The place is in a little shady Plaza but thst helps in keeping their costs down when providing you a haircut. There was plenty of parking available right in the plaza. read more

She listens, cares, and tells you what the best haircut you can have based on her experience. Katie, is a great barber, a great mother of a cute boy, and she carries a good conversation about any subject in life. I had my haircut done by the older lady and it came out great, although maybe there was a language barrier. I possibly could have been more specific as to what I wanted when I said "trim the top". I wanted my hair much longer so that I can hand comb it to the side. If I have received my intended hair cut they would have received the 5 star. I would come back to this place for another hair cut. You cant really go wrong with a $10 haircut. It beats going to a franchised haircut place and paying double. I personally cant justify paying double for a haircut. read more

Ok so for a $9 there's not much you can complain about. This is a no-nonsense little shop located east of Qualcomm, just south of the Kaiser Zion Hospital. It's run by two friendly Vietnamese ladies, who seem to be hard working and eager to please their customers. SD has become much like LA in its love of hipsterry boutique barber shops, where you get a shave and a beer and some guy talk. This is not such a place: you come here, get a quick cut, and go on with your merry day. For what it is, they do pretty well here. My barber did a great job. She cut my hair well, didn't rush, and I was pleased with the end result. And for $9 I think this is a great deal. Unfortunately, all good deals have caveats: there were a few drawbacks of my experience. 1. I had the barber redo a few areas that I wanted to change: thinner fade and shorter sideburns. She wasn't so happy about this: so I got to hear some Vietnamese curse words that reminded me of that Anjela Johnson nail salon skit. 2. The barber did a poor job of trimming my neck and left a lot of rogue hairs that I had to shave myself 3. When the barber cleaned my off, she covered me in hair. I recommend bringing a change of shirt if you have to go back to work after your cut, or you'll be itchy all day. All in all, the cut wasn't bad, especially for the price. Service and attention to detail weren't excellent, but I'd still go back if I couldn't find time to see my regular barber. read more

Before Walking In I Was A Bit Afraid Because I Didn't Know What To Expect!! But once I walked in, I noticed the place was really clean and the 2 ladies who were cutting hair were really nice and friendly. I showed the nice lady 2 photos of how I wanted my haircut, she saw them and then got started. She took her time about 15-20 min in cutting my hair. She was careful with the machines not being rough. As for the final result, my haircut was just as how I wanted it. Plus for $10 couldn't have been any better. Left her a $5 tip and said thank you and that I will see her soon. I will definitely return and finally found a barbershop where they cut hair exceptionally well and who take their time. Plus the price is good and not expensive at all.
