genuinely super disappointed in this place. i've been there twice before and each time they have gotten my haircut right. went there monday after work and I told the lady "Medium skim fade, alittle bit off the top" "like an inch or inch 1/2" "yea an inch is fine" she then proceeded to cut my hair down TO AN INCH LONG. mind you I had about 5 inches of hair on top of my head. Now i look like a middle aged military man. i cant even slick back my hair now like how I usually style it. highly disappointed in this place , save your money and go to a real barbershop. read more

I've been with the same woman since 1999...I don't need overpriced name brand clothing, ridiculous $1000+ watches, a rocking muscular body, an unreliable European luxury car, and I certainly don't need a fancy haircut anymore. I've got simple hair style...#4 on the sides and back, and maybe a 1/2 to 3/4 cut off the top, blended in. Sweet, solid and simple, and only $20. Uneven cuts everywhere and literally butchered the back of my head. Could not even cut the sides evenly. How the hell are they still operating. Yikes. My husband brought my son here a couple of months ago and he got a decent haircut. He went back today and got an older gentleman who totally butchered his hair. He has never had such a bad haircut. My husband showed him a picture ofhis last cut and I don't know how he could mess it up so badly. He didn't fade it all but instead just shaved it all the way up and then just stopped. I am including a picture of his usual cut and the cut he got today. He also left the top super long. Review #291 - 2019 While we were trying to kill time until we had to get to the airport, my son decided that he wanted to get a haircut before we headed back home since his hair was getting too thick & long. The heat made his hair blow up. LOL I called around to see if anyone was willing to take a walk-in customer & this place was the only one that answered their phone after calling 4-5 different places. When I called, the lady told me that there was no wait at the time so we drove in hoping that he could get a decent haircut. In all honesty, anything was better than what his current hair "style" was. We showed up about 15-20 minutes after I called & the place was getting busy so my son had to wait a bit, but we didn't mind since we weren't pressed for time. The lady who cut his hair was very quick & seemed to know what she was doing because I took a walk around the strip mall for about half an hour & returned to see that he was almost done. The haircut came out pretty nice. It wasn't exactly what he was hoping for, but for $12, what can you really complain about? Am still a fan of this barbershop, but the barbers can vary drastically. While the majority have provided a quality haircut, I have experienced a couple "lazier" barbers. No clean up on the edges, only using the clipper for the entire cut, and blaming my hair for the reason why the haircut did not turn out the way I wanted. The previous half dozen times I have been here have been very positive so I will give them a pass for now. read more

I use to reside nearby in the Kearny Mesa area. Now I'm currently down south in Chula Vista and I would still come here. I did that usual yelping of nearby barbers in Chula. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are great. But starting prices all around are $20 minimum. Some were $25 with appointments. Here at Endzone, you can get haircuts at $11 and $10 with military discount. All the barbers here are great and pretty consistent. I would continue to make that drive and come here. If you're looking for some hot towel treatment/creative designs, then this may not be for you. There are a few things I would've liked. Just my two cents. -Accepts cards. I know not everyone carries cash on them these days. -Sign in sheet or something so people know where they are on the wait list. The barbers are pretty good at knowing who came in. -Appointments. There have been times where the customer to barber ratio have been high. -Longer closing hours. They are open at 9, which is great. But close at 5. read more

Highly recommend this place in Clairemont Kearny Mesa area. The staff are highly skilled and exceptionally gentle in demeanor. I've had haircuts by Jon and Van and attest that both deliver in the style of haircut that you want. They possess gentle hands and exceptional skills, artistry, and take time to listen and converse. Most barbers I've experienced do things quickly and can be "hit or miss" with the critical fade cut ( the true litmus test of a good "real deal" barber.). Van is amazing in performing the fade or tight taper cut .. does it with a combination of clippers and scissors so gentle with the hands. I had a pleasant first time experience here! I was trying to decide on a place since I read on Happy Barbers yelp that they've gotten new barbers. I went today at around 9:20AM and I happen to have Van cut my hair. The whole experience was nice, she's friendly and tries to accommodate you for what you want. I asked for a high fade and she did that with a #2 razor, I recommend going with the 1 if you want a shorter cut. For the Top I asked for an inch off my hair and I was happy with what she did. I wished I asked for a part though because I'm so use to the person I use to go to give me a part without asking haha... my bad on that one For $11 you can't really go wrong with this place. If you're not use to//never been to an Asian barber ran by middle aged asians, try your best to communicate with them and not make it too complicated because English is not their first language. I've been to this place several times now and had mixed results. When my head was shaved a few months ago I came here to get it cleaned up. I got a nice fade and they lined me up nice, too. They did a great job and the price was right. A few months later when I was trying to grow my hair out and my hair was all scraggly lookin', I came in and asked to just clean it up a bit. The lady looked confused and didn't seem to know what I meant. She chopped off a bunch of hair and it was completely uneven. All long and choppy on the right side and significantly shorter on the left. I thought maybe it was because she didn't know what I meant when I said "clean it up". (Although, that still doesn't excuse my hair being all different lengths all over my head.) This time I came in with a picture of how I wanted my hair cut on my phone. The lady looked at it for all of 10 seconds and proceeds to cut my hair. I ask her if she needed to look at the picture for reference and she said no. I got essentially the same haircut I got last time. Uneven every-frickin-where. When she showed me my hair, I told her it was uneven. She cut the hair on the right side, and without even comparing it to the left shoved the mirror in my face again. It was shorter but still uneven. I was frustrated so I just paid and left. There were 2 other guys waiting for a haircut and it seemed like she wanted to hurry up and finish my cut so she could get to the next guy. WACK! So basically, if you want anything besides a fade go somewhere else. Because that's all they know how to do here. read more

Nice people, not a nice haircut. The staff there seemed quite nice and I know they wanted to do a good job. Unfortunately the barber misunderstood my instruction to bring the fade line up high and instead cut a line for stylistic purposes but it ended up making me look like a middle school drug dealer. They ended up shaving off the mistake and giving me a high and tight, which undid most of the damage. I don't think I'll go back though. read more

This place sucks. Do not go here. Lady didn't listen to instructions, made my hair uneven on one side. Made it extremely awkward by singing while she made my hair a disaster. Do not recommend this place at all. Only thing good about it is the price, and even that doesn't make up for the terrible job she did. I have been coming to Endzone since they opened (this is my second review) at first a older lady owned it and she cut hair pretty well, shortly after that I met Van, and she is now the owner and such a sweet person, and she cuts hair pretty good, she is always nice and knows how to take care of her customers, there is another girl there and she cuts hair well. I now do not mind getting and going to the barber every three weeks to have Van cut my hair, it's a pleasure. I think you might enjoy it too. read more

When in town and need a fade this is where I go. The ladies here are very nice and courteous and let you watch TV during your haircut. It's a good price and the place is very clean. So I've been coming here now for a year and this is my second review for this Barbershop. I've used just about every barber here and they all cut my hair excellent. Recently I've started taking my son to get his and they've have been doing a great job. His barber, Helen, is very patient and takes a great amount of care when cutting his year. We highly recommend her as well as the other barbers here. My son sits on my lap and uses my phone to distract him while he gets his haircut and last week she took out an apron that had a clear box so his hands and the phone will be covered while he was still able to see the phone. Would give this shop 3 stars just because it's $11 for a cut, but I think they deserve a 1 star review for once. If you're looking for a cheap but rushed/unfinished haircut, come on through. I gave a women a picture of what I exactly wanted and I thought we had great communication of what the finished product should look like. I was also detailed on where and where not to cut. Unfortunately, half way through my cut, my barber went rogue and did the opposite of what I had asked. I felt unsatisfied coming off the chair and handing her my $11.
