My windshield wiper was not working on my 2016 Mercedes I stopped by to get a quote fully thinking it was mechanical and going to cost $$$. When i walked in i was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who went to look at the repair. Within 5 minutes he came back in showing me a video of a screw that was loose which he tightened up and took care of the problem. I asked how much i owed and he said It was an easy fix and didn't charge me anything! It was so wonderful to know that there are still honest business that still exist he could have totally taken advantage of this situation but didn't! It says everything about this place! I found GR Auto online while I was searching for a trusted garage in the Spring/Cyrpess area for my 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 4.5. All the recommendations led me here! What I liked most about this establishment was that it's a family run business; 3 generations working side by side. Once you enter the shop you can clearly see that its trusted by Mercedes owners. There were many classic Mercedes/BMW's which gave me confidence that these guys know their job, and I can vouch for that myself! Larry gave me a lot of time and care. Inspected the car thoroughly as though it was his own. His knowledge of classic Mercedes is extensive and you can see the passion and love for classics in his eyes. I knew I was in good hands. Larry, gave good advice. Stuck to deadlines and estimates. He even worked on a Saturday so that I could meet my departure date. Finally, I was able to have my 280SE all fixed up for a long road trip 2600mils from Houston TX to San Fransisco CA. Car performed flawlessly! I highly recommend, these guys. When I was living out of Houston for a few years, my son had a problem with his car and was shocked at what it was going to cost. I told him to go here (it was my car that he was using) and he was treated with respect and the staff showed him exactly what was wrong and repaired at a much lower price. I wanted to do body, mechanical and restorative work on my 2009 Mercedes SLK. G.R. Auto Care was referred to me by a close friend. I understood this was a family run business. I consulted with Larry who answered all questions, proved all needed work and itemized all charges. If a cheaper option was available, he pointed it out and let me decide which option I wanted. Except for my driver's seat, all body, mechanical and restorative work was done in shop. What I had done took time, but Larry made sure I knew I was welcome at any time to check on the progress of the work being done. In retrospect, I have nothing negative to report. Since purchasing my car new, I have always taken it to the dealership. The dealership advised they could not get parts for my car, so I was thankful my search led me to G.R. Auto Care. I had called 2 Mercedes service shops, I chose GR Auto because the owner of the shop said I only fix or replace what needs to be, that told me he was not out to just charge full price that he would do what he could to save me money. Based on that I showed up on a Friday around noon in need of a "B" service, he said he would have it done by 5 (I was surprised by same day service that late in the day) His son called told me what I needed and what my total would be, so no surprises when I went to pick it up. In 2016 my beautiful paid for LandRover LR was totaled in the tax day flood. I was forced to buy a new vehicle. I crossed over and purchased a Pre-owned Mercedes Benz GL 450. The truck is beautiful. I was referred to GR Auto Care in 2017 by a friend who happened to pass by and he spoke to George and Larry. The next day I went by to talk to them. Larry was very nice. He gave me a tour of the place. In a heavy German accent, he said "I only know Mercedes and BMW, I can't tell you anything about another car!" I knew then this was a place for me and my my truck. Larry and George are an awesome father/son team. They are patient and explain the process. They show you the parts that have been removed and the new parts they've replaced. I really like the shop. Own a 2008 BMW X3. The vehicle is used mostly for road trips. With a trip over the holidays coming up and the BMW going on 12 years old I knew it was time for a good going over. The guys at GR auto gave me a list of what needed done. Including a problem with the idler pulley on the main serpentine belt. After all service done including all fluids they noticed the vehicle was slow starting. Being it had a new battery they found the starter was ready to go bad. So glad they found it before my trip since it was the day before our date to leave. They worked on the car and had it fixed on time. After 4000 miles from Tomball to Bozeman Mt. round trip with 5 deg. weather in snow and ice. The car performed like a new vehicle. I had the misfortune of having my car totaled and having to get a new one. I opted for German Craftsmanship so I had to find a mechanic specializing in Mercedes-Benz. I looked on Google Places and G.R. had the best reviews so I drove over. I am so glad I found them! They inspected my car and confirmed my suspicions that the dealer had lied to me about the condition of the car. I was devastated and they didn't even charge me for the inspection which runs about $125! George and Larry are honest, hard working people who care about their customers and doing quality work. They even called me a few weeks later to check on me and told me they would fix my car as cheaply as possible! If you have a Benz, BMW or other European Vehicle then I highly recommend taking your car to them for some TLC. read more

Superb diagnostic pre-purchase inspection. I was considering purchasing a 2003 Mercedes SL55 from a reputable dealer. The dealer handled other car brands & had taken the car in trade so it knew little about the car. They encouraged me to take it to someone knowledgable about this somewhat exotic, high-powered & complex car. George & Larry did a comprehensive analysis, even estimating the cost if all the recommended repairs (mostly deferred maintenance) were to be done. They were highly conservative; some of the work could be skipped or delayed, but their approach provided a thoroughgoing knowledge of the vehicle. They found so many things that I returned to the dealership & decided not to buy the car. The dealer reviewed their report, declared it outstanding & lowered its price to a point that the car was worth buying - which I did, confident that I was buying a good car and that once the work was done I'd have an outstanding car at a fair price. In short, although the cost of the pre-purchase inspection was somewhat high, it paid for itself more than 10 times over. GR Auto Care is passionate, professional & highly recommended. The owners answer every question completely, which is great because if you're contemplating repairs they recommend, their perfectionism need to be tempered by the car owner's priorities. We recently had our a/c go out in our Mercedes Benz right before a trip out of town. Larry and the crew were able to get the repairs completed in time for us to leave! Interior and exterior of the shop is well maintained. Vehicle is always received back washed and cleaned! Staff are always friendly and helpful. I'm not one to write reviews about my barber and even less likely to write one about a mechanic but this is an extraordinary case. I've been bringing my '92 MB to GR Auto Care for about 5 years. A father-son owned shop, George (the dad) and Larry (the son) are the most professional car mechanics I've known to date - which are many. Professional and cost efficient in their approach even toward the most difficult car problems to troubleshoot, they provide a service that awes. They stand by their work and in the process, are great tutors to the uninitiated MB owner in general and the used MB owner in particular. Every fellow customer I've encountered in the waiting area all say the same thing - namely it's these guys who are the reason none of us have ever soured over owning a MB. It's no doubt because of the way they take their time to explain to the customer exactly what the issues are and then can show a cost effective solution. This is the stuff that every successful business owner demonstrates - a loyal customer following. If I could give this shop a zero, I would based on how they treated my wife yesterday. The first time we went there with our new car, we had them service it completely to establish a baseline, which was like $400. Larry (Who was very nice btw) said, "From this point on, each service would be $100. The next time I brought my wife's car to be serviced, I dropped it off, and came back to pick it up, the father said, "Ok, that will be $300, which was three times what I expected to pay, but the father said it was very detailed service, and they had to order new filters and use special german oil etc." I thought a call would have been nice, but I reluctantly paid the money. Yesterday was the last straw. My wife scheduled an appt with Larry, who said try to get he car there before noon the following day, there should be no problem getting her taken care of. My wife showed up at 1PM (admittedly an hr late), and asked if she could do some work on her laptop while she waited for an oil change, as it didn't appear that any other cars were being worked on ahead of her. The father said "No, I will not be rushed, you have to leave" so my wife called an Uber to come pick her up, and was told to come back at 4:30 to pick it up. Six minutes later while waiting for the Uber, the father again very rudely reminded her again she had to leave. 4:30 comes along and she got a ride from a neighbor to come pick it up only to find that it hadn't been touched, which would have been nice to know. The father said "Come pick it up tomorrow, I had to order parts for it" which had not been communicated to us either as we only wanted an oil change so I can only assume we would have been looking at another $3-400 bill, so she took the car and left. Today I called to speak to the Larry (the son) about the treatment of my wife, and the father answered by saying "Hello", like it was his personal number. When I asked to speak to Larry, he said "He isn't here, what car is yours?" I asked when Larry would return, he said "Larry has 3 children and a life outside of work, what do you want?" I said, well since you asked, I wanted to talk to Larry about an incident that happened yesterday, and I'm not the kind of guy who hides behind his keyboard, but I'm tempted to let others know how my wife was treated yesterday, and I would like to talk about this man to man. What started as a calm conversation heated up quickly, and he then said "I'm 73 years old, and if you think you can hurt me by writing a review, go ahead....it won't affect me one bit", and hung up the phone mid sentence. As a thick skinned person, I can take this...but my wife didn't deserved to be spoken to in that way yesterday, and the way he talked to me confirmed any doubt I may have had. She deserved a courtesy call saying it wouldn't be ready when told, and she deserved the right to decide for herself that anything outside of a standard routine service would be added to the ticket. But the tone with which he spoke to her, and now me is beyond my threshold for customer service. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review, but if it helps spare one person's wife the torment that this man put mine through, then I've done a good service. My advice, turn around if the dad is at the counter. read more
