Mmm mmm everything you crave in that takeout sort of way. Stopped by today for lunch after being caught in the rain. From the outside the place is like any other takeout spot. But inside is adorned with quirky wallpaper and is impressively clean. The lady who took my order was extremely friendly which is always a good sign. We settled on beef with mixed veg and she helped me customize it with some spice. Fast forward to home. Still piping hot. My test for these meals are in two criteria. 1. Beef- chewy? flavor? This was the right texture of not too dry or too chewy was on point. There was actually a nice beef taste. Score! 2. Sauce: on boy. I know I worry about dat high blood pressure a lot for a young person but boy I hate it when the sauce is tooo salty. As in, the vegetables become overly darkened by the oh wonderful sauce of soy. This was a nice balance. Not too heavily sauced and not too salty that I am reaching for the soda (though maybe that's what it's for hahah). The vegetable selection was great as well. None of that too old let's fry it up stuff. Also get this, they print on their menu closed on Sunday morning because they are at church. How sweet! Just recently moved so unfortunately I couldn't order from my usual take out spot any longer. After doing some research, I came across Grace Chinese Food II, and I'm so happy I did!! We ordered sesame chicken, szechuan chicken, dumplings, shumai, and crab rangoon. Everything was delicious! The dumplings were flavorful and not the typical doughy ones you get from other places. Very happy about the pork fried rice and egg roll that came with the chicken combos. Chicken was also flavorful and plentiful. The crab rangoon could've been a tiny bit crispier but still enjoyable. I never write reviews for restaurants but this is needed. This place is discriminatory towards people of color, especially black Americans. I was once in the store where I ordered with my credit card and a black man came in and asked if they took credit cards. They said no, and of course he left. I was so shocked my friend and I looked at each other because we could not understand what was going on. After this happened my roommates and I started talking (since we ordered from here often). We realize that they fluctuate their prices depending on who is ordering the food. When it's a person of color they upcharge. The world is difficult enough without having to deal with blatant racism. The ingredients are so fresh. I've had about 30% of the menu and everything was great. Seafood delight, boneless ribs, orange chicken, general tso, hunan chicken, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, hunan beef, hunan shrimp. Everything is amazing. I 10000% recommend that you make it a combo with the shrimp fried rice. There was one item, I was truly not a fan of and that was the general tso shrimp, other than that, grace is your go to. The orange chicken is really tasty. They put large strips of orange peels in the dish which makes it extra orangy and unique. Their lo mein is tasty. I prefer the vegetable lo mein to the chicken or shrimp versions. The cashew chicken is also quite good. They don't skimp on the cashews at all, which is nice. A little too much celery for my tastes, but I've never bothered to ask for less celery. The give you plenty of rice with your orders, so there's never a need to order extra rice. The also give you 2 free soda pops with orders over $25. I recommend the place for take out or delivery, as the restaurant itself is small, and kind of a dump... So we order from here everyday almost and it's not one day they can get the order right. Today I ordered shrimp fried rice and chicken wings with EXTRA shrimp. I was charged $2 for 10 extra shrimp. When the delivery guy came I tipped him $2 extra dollars even though they are literally around the corner . A total of $12! There was only a pack of soy sauce , no utensils, no napkin, no extra duck sauce as I requested. As I called to make the complaint , a very rude person a male who refused to give me his name told me " I don't care who u call, I don't have time for the bs it's just $10 " and then hung up in my face . Refusing to come get the food and refund me my money . As I kept calling back he kept answering and hanging up . I along with my colleges have agreed to never order from them again. There spring rolls are often cold on this inside and sometimes contain black pieces of metal or plastic in them. There fried rice is not the best, it's just ok.
