This is REAL authentic Thai food! Man, I was so stoked to finally have this experience after months of disappointment of trying places in Bay Ridge. Although this is closer to my work, I already told my husband I need to drag him here to share in this experience. My colleague insisted I took him here before for lunch, but I knew I hadn't. The inside is more spacious than what I was expecting and is more than a grab and go take-out place. Great chill vibe with Thai decor and wooden accents. The waitress was super nice and friendly, quickly taking our orders and explaining menu options. It was us and two other patrons dining in, so it wasn't too noisy for a weekday lunch. My green curry was everything I was hoping for and more! The chicken was tender and the veggies were cooked well with a great subtle snap. The jasmine rice that accompanied it was just the right portion. I could've happily downed a second, but I would've been super stuffed. It smelt and tasted wonderful - a great choice if you're indecisive. My coworker enjoyed his drunken noodle with pork belly, with just the right amount of spice that he wasn't sweating bullets. Amazing place! Came here for a 6 PM dinner on Friday night and had plenty of seating to choose from. My friend and I decided to share the chicken satay, the shrimp rolls, tofu pad Thai, pork masaman curry and mango sticky rice and a Thai iced tea. Everything was delicious and we stayed for hours until closing because we didn't have to leave. There were a number of people that came in that were regulars for either takeout or were eating in. Can't say too much about the space, but it was clean and good temperature even on a rainy 50° day. I came with three other people on an October Monday evening, it was a slower day and there was one person working. Water refills were quick as well as the food. The interior is quite cozy with cute art on the wall and there were Halloween decorations up as it was October. We ordered two drunken noodles because, iconic. Good Thai food in East Williamsburg. I got the usual Pad Kee Mao for their lunch special which include a soda, and 1 spring roll. Their noodles were soft and chewy, not as spicy as I wished. I also tried my friend veggie summer roll and it was a very healthy choice; not my favorite. My friend got the mushroom tempura and said it was so good; nice meaty texture. In the end we got fried ice cream which was a really nice treat. The server told us to wait after he set the plate down and BAM, he set it on fire. Came here on a rare trip to Williamsburg and decided to try out this place that I've saved for a long time. Can say it was def worth it! We got 3 appetizers and 3 entrees for a group of 4 and it was the perfect amount of food. For appetizers, we got the following: - Crab Rangoon - Curry Puff - Steamed Chicken & Shrimp Thai Dumplings The Crab Rangoon was the perfect size to pop the whole piece into your mouth and let the filling burst. The crust was not too thick like a lot of other places, which I liked and the cream cheese filling was really good! The Curry Puff was crispy and not too thick, making it easy to eat. The Steamed Chicken & Shrimp Thai Dumplings were actually on the house and we expected it to taste similar to shumai, but the inner part is actually slightly different and kind of like a ball of soft meat mixed together. For the main dishes, we got these three: - Kao Soi with Shrimp - Massaman Curry with Beef - Basil Sauce with Chicken I've found that Kao Soi differs vastly across restaurants and can say that the one here was one of the best ones I've had. Would highly recommend getting it! The flavor was not too sweet and the crispy noodle was a nice texture where when soaked into the sauce, it became softer and easier to eat. The Massaman Curry with Beef was also flavored properly and not too sweet for Thai food. We asked for mild spice, but I think we could've went for even spicier. The Basil Sauce with Chicken was a lighter dish to help balance out the other thicker sauce ones. Overall, the flavor of the food was just right across and I liked every dish, which does not happen often. What a delicious and seemingly underrated place! A friend and I stopped by on a Friday night around 8:30 and entered a completely empty restaurant. This did not deter us. We sat right down and I settled on the Roasted Duck Over Rice. All these "over rice" dishes seemed to come with "ginger rice", which I wasn't familiar with, though I've had Thai food many times before. After a quick check with the waitress that it wouldn't be mixed with any onions or extras, I was down. The food arrived super fast and came with a little bowl of soup on the side (with little green cilantro-looking herbs that are NOT cilantro lol, and also little glass noodles!) and it was SO YUMMY. Next, the duck was GREAT. Crispy and not at all boney like some duck can be; good meaty portions with low fat. The ginger rice was yellow, nothing mixed in it, just how I like it, but still SO FLAVORFUL. By the time I got home at like 3am that night, I HAD to finish the leftovers because I couldn't stop thinking about them. I would DEF come back here. Wish I had gotten a picture! read more

It all mixed well together, the creaminess of the sauce along with the pinch of lime made it rich and savoury! Definitely a recommend. We also got the masaman curry with beef. A nice fulfilling portion filled with tender beef and a delicious curry. Mixed with rich, it provided us with an amazing blend of aromatic flavors from both the jasmine rich and curry. Lastly we had the sauteed chicken with basil sauce and rice. It was a great portion, filled with checken that were not dry at all! The basil sauces provided a great refreshing flavor that wasn't too sweet but just enough to erase the creaminess from the other dishes. After the Met game we came back to our apartment in Williamsburg. Felt like Thai food. No surprise as it is my favorite ethnic food. Three Thai places within a few blocks. This one had a good 4.4 rating. Velvet had the Tum Yum Kai. She said it was loaded with chicken and was very good though she would have preferred more veggies than meat. I ordered the Rama Curry. It was not great. Fried dark meat chicken over perfectly cooked broccoli and a few carrots. They dribbled peanut sauce over it. I had to ask for more peanut sauce as the dish was very dry. The restaurant had a few people wrapping up their meals but, it was mostly empty. They had one person on staff who was handling everything except maybe cooking. Which unfortunately, meant we had to wait for even the most basic transactions such as getting utensils or placing an order. A meal that could have been 45 minutes took over a lot longer. I ordered the chicken pineapple fried rice ($12) and thought it was okay. Farabe got spring rolls ($6.50) along with a Thai ice tea and thought both was okay. I think this Thai place would do in a pinch if you were hungry and craving Thai but, its definitely an average tasting place. There are so many different other places that make better Thai food. We linked up with Link Thai a day or two in advance to put in an order for 27 people. I chatted with the manager and he suggested instead of 27 individual boxes, he can create platters (like a buffet style). With a friend (with a car), we did a self-pickup to bring the food to our own venue. The food was flavorful and cooked well. This place is awesome and the summer rolls are my favorite! I ordered twice in a row for dinner this week and I am happy to eat my leftovers, which is a surprise because I am not a leftovers person at all. I've been trying to get the chive pancakes but both times they were unavailable. Seems like a standard item to have, however for some reason two nights in a row they called me to select a replacement item. That's the only complaint I have but I am sure those will be good too! Another thing I love, is typically at most Thai restaurants, some of the standard mild dishes like massaman curry always feel like there's a kick missing to it. I enjoy my food on the spicy side. At this place, they include a "spice level" when you're ordering! So I was able to get my curry SPICY for a dish that is usually mild and quite plain or standard. And their "spice level" is true to taste! Because also, I noticed most restaurants will claim a dish is "spicy" however, I usually find it not spicy at all! They know how to fix that, and I love this about the place. Their summer rolls are so tasty and I love that the tofu added to the rolls. It's not just firm tofu either, it seems they fry or brown it too which is so good! I loveeee the curry and ground pork with sticky rice. This place also allows you to select noodles instead of rice if you're in the mood for something different! I will be a loyal customer for sure going forward. Before this, I always ordered from Sage. They're okay, consistent, but the food quality here is better and they actually have chive pancakes on their menu--unlike Sage. Also, their shrimp/pork dumplings are way tastier than Sage...sorry to compare but if you're in the Greenpoint area, you may be familiar with that place and I wanted to provide a point of reference.
