Every thing. I had a small service dog and the owner was very rude, I showed her documentation, and she still gave me attitude. One girl started my nails, another finished. 3 stars because the pedicures are 4-5 and gel mani was a 2. Averaging out the stars. The salon is clean and convenient for me and my 3 pedis in the past have always been good and decently thorough. I was desperate to get something done before a work trip so I went here. My gel mani however was horrible. I went about an hour before closing and the woman doing my nails was rushing to get out of there. She dry cut my cuticles without soaking and cut my nails too short. I got a pink Essie color and she put on three uneven coats and then used a thick top coat which didn't fully cure the first time so she layered more on. The topcoat less than a day later started to yellow for some reason. Overall very disappointed in the mani that was $40 before tip. read more

Great pedicures and manicures. They have really good massage chairs which are very relaxing while getting a pedicure. Gel manicures are great and I tried the dip powder once too. Also good. Long lasting. Good quality materials. Also a clean establishment. Im proud of them because they've upgraded their manicure chairs and stations. Business must be good. And they have smart management because the upgrades have lent to a nicer aesthetic and thus experience. I came in for a pedicure on a Saturday. The technician did a great job on my nails, but she was on her phone during the service, which felt unprofessional. I didn't say anything at the time, but it definitely took away from the overall experience. While my toes were drying, another staff member approached and asked if I wanted a massage. I said yes, assuming it was complimentary. She gave me a short, 10-minute massage that was just okay. When I went to check out, I was surprised to see I had been charged for it--bringing my total to $60, which I wasn't expecting. To be clear, I wouldn't have minded paying for the massage--I probably needed it! But I would have really appreciated a heads-up that the service wasn't free. It's less about the price and more about being given the choice to opt in. Transparency and communication go a long way in customer service. As I went to tip in cash, both staff members were on their phones. The nail technician looked up to say thank you for while the massage therapist didn't acknowledge me or say thank you until I was already walking out, despite her colleague trying to get her attention. This is my go-to spot in JC. The owner, Jessica, is a magician when it comes to UV gel. I used to drive all the way to Bellville (35 min one way!) just to go to a nail tech that was consistent. But now Grace has changed my life for the better. A 10 min walk from my apartment and no one better to do my UV gel fill. The salon is clean, bright, and always has a relaxing playlist on. I came here for the first time to get a gel fill-in and Jessica (or some other name starting with J, I forgot) was spectacular. I made a same day appointment and was seated immediately upon arrival on a Monday evening. The gel extensions I already had on were horrendous and Jessica was able to fix them up. I just went here to get UV gel, can't remember the technician's name but a Spanish lady . She continued buffing and I told her how she's done it is horrible and my gels are each nail goes to different directioN and looks awful and are ugly and she said : it's your nails and it's nothing to do with me. I have been going to this salon since I moved to Jersey City 5 years ago and have LOVED IT. Management changed this year and the work has gone down hill with every gel manicure chipping within the week if not the same day AND they are now charging $40 for a gel manicure and $35 for a regular pedicure that is truly nothing special. I'd be willing to pay the up-charge for above average services, but this is an ok salon charging premium prices. Came here bc of the convenience. The gel manicure has lasted me 3 weeks thus far and is holding up quite well. I will say though that the next day and day after, my cuticles were peeling like crazy. Not ideal for the wedding I attended. Also, the woman who did my pedicure was very aggressive while pushing and trimming cuticles. The prices are slightly higher than some of the cheaper nail salons in Manhattan, but the quality makes it worth the price. I've tried several other nail salons in both manhattan and Jersey City and I always come back to Grace Nails and Spa. Friendly staff, good selection of colors and never have to wait too long. I went for manicure and pedicure there. Not happy with the outcome. The girl who did my manicure and pedicure spoke very little english, i had a hard time following her. I showed her a pic of the french manicure design i wanted and she ended up painting a single colour on my feet. She moved me to work on my hands and I asked her if she will complete french manicure pattern afterwards and she was confused. I think she was not happy and told me that it will be $5 extra each for my hands and feet. I told her i was fine. she asked me to pay up first then she continued to work on my hands. Walked in on a Saturday midday without an appointment looking for a mani and pedi. It was pretty crowded so I winded up waiting ~10-15 min until I was brought to a pedicure chair. To preface, I didn't enjoy the pedicure or manicure. There was a 2 second massage on each foot/leg during the pedicure. The woman who did the pedi and then mani seemed pissed off the whole time and was speaking in an angry tone in Spanish to her coworkers. The mani wasn't luxurious either and felt rushed. The mani/pedi winded up being $43 and wasn't worth the price. I've found comparable pricing in Manhattan for a much better experience. The service wasn't great, the mani and pedi weren't enjoyable, and I didn't feel like it was immaculately clean. I will not be coming back. Side note - when I was moved to dry my nails, I was brought to a seat where the hand dryer was broken. I tried moving to the next seat and turning that fan on and messed up a nail in the process. I went to the manager at the front desk and she said no one could help me because everyone was busy...why couldn't she help out? I showed that I was angry and then she immediately had someone come and fix my nail. Also, no one offered to help me put my sandals on or remove the paper between my toes. Poor service. read more

I only visit Grace nails out of last minute convenience - I truly tried to like this place due to it's highly convenient location but I just never have a good experience. I drive to my home town an hour away now just to get my nails done. On my first visit - loved it, the girl did a nice job and they give a great pedicure. However, I went back on my second visit. The woman tried to charge me $100.00 for a gel manicure, WHAT! She also didn't speak English, and took off my gels like you would an acrylic nail and RUINED MY NAILS. They became brittle and weak for about three months after that. I was so upset. I went back again four months later because I was in desperate need of a pedicure. Out of ten chairs, I was the only person getting a pedicure and my chair was broken. The massage is the best part, I had a long day and just wanted to relax. Mid-pedicure they said I could move (they knew before hand it was broken), why would you sit me there? It's a nice concept, they give good pedicures and nice massages but the service is just terrible. If you are going to do it - do it right. I do not recommend this place.
