Lavender Ink is a small and modest company run by Marissa and Brooke. Between these two girls, they have a level of talent that competes with the big stationary groups that design any sort of print work that you would need. I was a little hesitant to use those websites that you just pick one of the designs and type in your details. It wasn't the warm and personalized approach I sought, and I wanted something unique to really make people think "Wow!" when they opened our wedding invitations. Working with Lavender Ink was the BEST decision I had for my wedding. I worked with one of the CEOs, Marissa, who gave us top quality, personalized assistance. She's SUPER sweet and she even met with us in person, answered my millions of emails and phone calls timely, and just made sure every single minute aspect (even the way the ribbon was tied) was perfect. As a slightly neurotic Type AA personality myself, I most definitely appreciated her attention to detail, creativity, timeliness and communication. In the first stage, Marissa and Brooke, helped develop some unique designs. They came up with so many intricate, unique and creative invitations (even laser cut detail!) that it was so hard to pick from! They thought of everything from the type and color of paper (how much sheen was on the paper, the weight), the type of string to use to tie the invites, seals, etc. I don't think I saw a single website that even considered these options. I also would not have thought of these little things without Marissa and Brooke's guidance. They worked with us closely to tweak the design down to exactly what we wanted, and we couldn't have been happier with the result. Everyone was blown away by our invites, and I can bet you that no one had invites like ours. During the production stage, Marissa took it upon herself to assemble all of our invites (we had over 250 invites). She painstakingly ensured that everything was perfect. Stamps, labels, seals, etc. - down to the way the bow was tied.. perfect. I can't contain how excited I was to see what the final product was. It was also really exciting to hear compliments across the board about our invites. If you need anything that relates to invites, save the dates, table numbers, etc. - the girls at Lavender Ink would be that small business that provides A+ service and quality. There wasn't a single thing that I would have changed or requested from Lavender Ink. They set the bar in terms of service, quality, and creativity that any bride-to-be seeks for her big day. They are a small business but perform big. I highly recommend Lavender Ink, Marissa and Brooke, for anything you need on your wedding day. They can literally create and design anything you desire, and it's always above and beyond what you had imagined! They did my entire wedding invitation suite (save the dates, invitation, inserts, thank you cards) Also-our programs, table numbers, and gift tags! For my bridal shower, they did the invites, menu, thank you cards, and gift tags- So lovely! They designed AMAZING baby shower invites and thank you's for a shower I threw for a girlfriend. During the planning process, she was quick to respond to emails I had with questions. She created digital images of the invitations so that I could look over anything and make any changes. I am planning my wedding and I thought I would just print everything at home alone. The week before I was going to send my invites, my laptop died. Caput. Dead. I freaked out! How can I print my invites without my computer? I contacted Nate and he was able to help me with printing. I had all the rest of stuff done, and I just needed printing. He was able to help me with the process. Very thorough- he made sure I saw proofs and approved everything before printing. When something wasn't just quite right, he'd fix it, and he's work with me to make it happen. I had such a huge relief when I got the printed vellum for my invites. Just so you know, When I put the vellum onto the paper with ribbon, it took me and 3 friends a total of 4 hours to make 250 invitations. This is serious time consuming work. That did not include that fact that I already addressed and stamped the envelopes and put the response card in each envelope ahead of time. Very time consuming. Nate will work with you on prices. You can get a consultation in person in San Diego, or he can do things with you on the phone or online. I am having him print menu cards and I can't wait to see how they turn out. There is enough stress with wedding planning, and he pulled through to help me in a crisis moment.

Geraldine was amazing to work with, when we first called her she set an appointment immediately…read more When we met, she had everything laid out in front of us, from her personal lookbooks, an example board, font colors, color swatches, different kinds of paper, basically everything thing you want or need for invitations. The actual appointment took about an hour, but in that time we had chosen colors, papers, envelopes, the layout, basically everything we needed in the invitation but the text (take note that we had no idea what we were doing, not even the color scheme for the wedding, the only thing done was the venue). Over the course of a week we had the basic text done, a contract signed, and the text fonts laid out. The actual editing of the invitation text took about 2-3 weeks (not Geraldine's fault) and was extremely difficult because my sister kept changing her mind as to how she wanted the directions punctuated (Capital letters on the turns, period placement, etc.) and my parents kept changing the wording on the Vietnamese text. I felt extremely bad for Geraldine because we were basically the family from hell with 5 people emailing her for proper corrections which should have been done in a day but took us weeks because my family is indecisive. But anyways, even though we emailed her about 300 times, she was still very professional and very graceful when working with us. She never even hinted a sign of frustration, and she was very prompt in answering our emails (despite how many were sent at a time). Overall I highly recommend Geraldine because she is affordable, she does quality work, she's professional, and all the invitations come in cute boxes with pink tissue (which added extra excitement because my sister looked like a kid on christmas opening her wedding invitations).

I gave her the materials and list on Thursday afternoon, and pick everything up on Tuesday Morning. I have done this tradition for the past 10 years, and I don't think it ever has gone more smoothly that with Calligraphy by Lisa. Price was also in line with what I had paid in the past.
