Where this place is located the parking lot is a hassle but there is plenty of street parking. When you first walk inside it's a dark ambiance and it's not a friendly vibe but they are attentive and it's not unfriendly either it's just silence with low music in the background, I have yet to see it busy. I was helped by Joselene and she was a very nice lady who did a good job on my nails. I will say it is very expensive, compared to other shops but they offer services your average nail salon doesn't so that's a plus. Moved from Atlanta ga to New York recently so this happened to be the first nail salon to service me since I moved here. Anyways I had them take off the design because it looked literally like a child had a paint day on my nails. I went in yesterday for a mani and spa pedicure. it was my first time at this spot, they were a bit behind schedule but I had nowhere else to be but indulge in some self care. I had a few issues with my manicure: the nail tech was a bit aggressive snd cut into my skin when removing my cuticles and she failed to moisturize my hands, that's like a must for me when getting a manicure but I didn't make a thing out of it. whoever did my spa pedicure did an amazing job, I work 10 hr shifts and have tendonitis so I really appreciated the care she gave my feet. I'll definitely try them out again, just won't cut the cuticles and the salon is very clean. read more

She was the weave slayer and could hair dress fabulously. Her husband Gregory is now doing another fabulous job running this posh nail salon. I planned a nail date with my fellow Yelper Sasha.B and felt Grace was the perfect salon to kick off our evening of relaxation. The atmosphere was very calming with the changing dim LED lighting, aromatic eucalyptus and lavender. There was gospel music playing and it was for once QUIET and peaceful. We were even provided complimentary red wine! Gregory greeted us and we picked our colors right away. Gregory was very welcoming and professional, however, our Nail technicians were not. They did not appear to want to provide the service or have a conversation. It was 5:45 p.m. and while I know they had a long day, we were the only 2 clients besides 1 other regular getting an acrylic service. My pedicure was done well. I appreciated how the cuticle and nails were cut accurately. But what I didn't appreciate was not being asked if I wanted callus remover or anything else relating to the pedicure. My tech was very quiet, taking phone calls, texting and clowning around with the other technician. After a while it took away from the experience. All in all, the quality of the job was well done. Luckily, after the pumice and pomegranate scrub I did not need callus remover. The towels were steaming hot and clean. That's more than I can say for these local rinky dink salons. I really like how sophisticated and modern this salon is and that is where they really score stars. The seats were comfortable and the service Gregory provided was exceptional. He went above and beyond as a manager. I usually pay $21 for a Mani Pedi at my home nail salon in Jamaica, so paying the $18 with the 15% Yelp offer was pretty good for this experience. I really wish they were open later. I saw 4 customers turned away at 6:30. We were informed they take their last client at 6. This business is very strict about punctuality and going home early VS making an extra dollar. LADIES! Come early or be turned away. For a posh, relaxing ambiance it was worth it. I plan to visit again in the near future for the Happy Hour Special during the day and I pray that the ladies work on their professionalism and more appropriate client service skills. read more

I am currently sitting in this nail salon, waiting on my toes to dry. My sister and myself met up here a few minutes before 6pm to get our nails done. Long story short, the staff left my sister to sit and soak her nail gel off for about an hour and a half to 2 hours. No one asked her how she was doing, no one attended her. It was not until 10 minutes ago at 8:10pm, that the same woman that sat her down asked her to sit in her chair. The whole time I have been here, I am watching and observing everything. They spoke bad about us in Spanish, they gave us several side glances, and this was because I kept checking on my sister because she was neglected and no one was helping her. We never cursed anyone out and we did not partake in any kind of ratchet behavior. I watched as everyone was helped except my sister. I don't understand stand the kind of dislike that someone must have and this was a bad observation for me. I don't believe we need to raise our voices and act a fool, just to get service. If you're not particular then maybe this review wouldn't interest you. I got here at 12 in the afternoon and I noticed that it was a good collection of acrylic dust around the work station; it's quite obvious that they don't clean the stations at the end of the night. I wasn't too fond of the fact that they feel it's necessary to talk amongst themselves as if they've never seen each other before. I'm not talking about a few words here and there; one of the nail techs came over to have a full on conversation with my nail tech. In my mind, I'm like can this wait ? It just seemed very unprofessional. My nail tech was very aggressive with the nail file. She scrapped off a good portion of my skin; I mainly noticed it when i went to wash my hands and at the end when they sprayed my finished gel mani with alcohol (yikes!)- it burned ! Overall the gel mani came out nice and I appreciated the wine offer. This is my go to spot for my nails even after I've moved away from the area. I've gotten full sets, manicures, pedicures, and my eyebrows done once here. I'm pretty much always satisfied with the full set. Comes out nicely and lasts about 1.5 weeks but I've had a couple instances where the technician has cut me with the buffer. Same for the manicures. The only time I left here disappointed is when I got my eyebrows done here. My brows were uneven and way too thin. The manager is really warm and professional, I like him a lot. Often times the word spa is overused so I'm always pleasantly surprised when I am given a spa like experience at a local salon. I was invited by yelp beauty Marissa M and after a long day it was the perfect way to catch up and unwind. Location: The salon is right in the heart of Hollister where I grew up so it was nice to revisit my old neighborhood. It's easily accessible by the 2, 77 and dollar cabs for those who commute publicly. It's strategically located right next to a hair salon and beauty supply. Great way to grab potential clients. From what I understand Gregory the owner is married to Grace the lucky lady the slain was named after who also owns the hair salon next door. Ambiance : Absolutely . The salon is beautifully decorated. It's elegant, chic and soothing. A mild scent of peppermint and lemon emanates throughout. Furnishings appeared to have been carefully chosen and every piece is exquisite. Lights are dimly lit, the music is subtle so are the pieces throughout that brought me to draw the conclusion that Gregory was Christian/saved and proud to share that. The towel pyramids add an extra touch and details come together to give this space a real high end feel. I love that there wasn't a huge obnoxious tv blasting and bombarding the space and peace. I was taken away; happily so. Yes, Hollister has a a salon/spa. Service Gregory is such a gentleman and so hands on. I love the way he carries himself and is involved with every area of the business. He was very welcoming, helped us to pick colors and offered us something to drink. Yes please, (wine)me up! While Gregory gives me high end the staff, not so much. Zoila was great on the pedi. She took her time to clean up my feet and paid great attention to detail. She scrubbed with vigor and I had happy feet. My hands now that's another story. I started off with Elizabeth. Elizabeth swears she doesn't speak English but something tells me that's just a way to stave off conversing so I am at her station for over an hr but we can't build rapport. She shaped me nails how she wanted and began to paint them without cleaning them up. I had dried up crusts of gel base coat yet she began to apply polish so it was messy. I had pieces of skin hanging from almost all nails. At times she yanked on my skin with the clippers despite me saying ouch several times. I'm b gonna assume "ouch" is comprehensible in all languages. Como se dice ouch en espanol? She had to tend to another customer but she didn't excuse herself, she just got up and sent over Mariella who quickly noticed my nails needed cleaning up and tended to them, much as gracias Mariella . The gel polish after 2 rounds of uv light were not dry, 3 times , 4 times. Yikes ! I was getting tired and frustrated. Final recommendation: I say go but brush up on your Spanish prior to. Def have Zoila do the pedi and pray Elizabeth is not on the phone while you get your mani. Enjoy the ambiance, drink wine and choose a pretty color . Life is short to have boring nails. Gregory, you've got something special here. Think about getting some more techs, some that are highly trained and professional and think about getting them at least a cute tshirt or smock to make things look more profession. read more

Prior to my experience today, the last time I came to this nail salon was about 3 years ago. At the time I stopped coming because the prices were trending upward while the service was declining. When this place first opened the ladies were very skilled, attentive, and the overall experience was very pleasant, as that started to change I took my business elsewhere. Today, I needed to get my nails done in preparation for an event and did not have the time to drive out to my usual place, so I thought it's been three years let's revisit. Gregory was as pleasant as I remember. Despite having to leave and comeback, because I could not be taken right away, when I did return, he speedily got me in a chair and was very attentive until the woman who could do my nails was available. The young woman who completed my services was the problem. It reminded me of why I stopped going to this salon in the first place. 1. She was on the phone while she was doing my pedicure. Listen I get it if you need to take a call at work, but the entire service she was having a full on conversation. In so doing, many basic aspects of a pedicure were either done haphazardly or not done at all. For example, a hot towel, the scrubbing of the feet, putting on lotion. For the first time in my life I left a nail salon with ashy feet and hands. 2. During my manicure she did not wear a mask. I get it that some places do not enforce this, but there is a huge sign outside that says customers should wear masks, so I was confused. 3. The manicure itself was poorly done. She asked about shape, I told her almond. She in turn did a funky rounded square. She also did not shape them to look uniform at all. If I did not remind her she was not going to do a base coat. Overall the nails were not to my liking. 3. I also requested a chin wax. I asked Gregory if someone was available to do this, as I know in some places not all nail techs are able to wax. He said that she could. I sat down, and as expected she did not really know how to wax. Waxing is always painful, but when someone is bad at it, it hurts a lot more. She then under her breath tried to blame me, saying it was too much hair. I actually have PCOS, so unfortunately I get a lot of body hair fairly quickly, not because that is what I want, but just how my body is. She did not get all the hair, did not do the usual aftercare after a wax. Just poorly done and made me feel bad while she was at it. When this place first opened it had what appeared to be trained nail techs, but now I am not so sure. I stopped coming here 3 years ago, and unfortunately after this re-visit I will not be returning. I did let Gregory know about my dissatisfaction with the services after I left via a phone call. He was kind and stated he would speak with her. I did not want to embarrass the young woman as I was embarrassed and I am not confrontational. But I felt that it would have been a disservice to not let him know and to not write this review. I can't say for someone not to go to this nail salon, but I would be weary about some of the people who provide services there. read more

I guess that didn't mean much when the owner decided to charge me a different price for the gel manicure i received. I said; "Why is the price different?" He says; "Oh, there's a $3.00 charge to take off the gel manicure. And they may have not told me when you was charged before. Of course that is an absolutely ridiculous explanation for several reasons: 1. You're the owner and you should know your prices. 2. It is not my fault that your workers don't all charge the same price. 3. You took my payments several times.. and you the owner didn't charge me that amount. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a nail salon . I posted on my social media if anyone knew of a good mail salon in Queens . Literally everyone who replied sent me this place . I called made an appointment and went for it .What a beautiful experience . The place was clean and beautiful . The owner came and gave me the gel colors to choose from then he came with the matching color for my toes . Felt like concierge service . I love that. They spray and wipe down seats between clients. (Only thing I wish they had plastic liners for the pedicure tubs like my old salon, but they do clean them thoroughly between clients.) Nana was super nice and friendly . She feels like home, like I've known her forever . She was also very professional and a master of her craft. The second time I came the other lady who did my nails also did a wonderful job. I really wanted to like this place because its a Christian nail salon. But after going there twice I would strongly recommend everyone NOT to come here if you want acrylic or tips. I've gotten the thickest set of my life....my nails literally look and feel like cinderblock candy corns. Not to mention the tiny little cuts on each of my fingers. This is my second time experiencing this here...they always cut up my skin, leaving it to burn and hurt each time. This is extremely unsanitary given the times of COVID, my blood is literally on her tools and many others. I'm not sure if this is their standard or if they think cutting their clients with tools is acceptable but its the second time this has happened on ALL of my fingers. I came here about three times already and every time I'm not disappointed. The first two times I didn't wait for more than 5 minutes (I came during the week), the third time I did wait about two hours (Saturday). Although the wait was long on a Saturday and there weren't many nail technicians, they do such a fabulous job. It's so hard to find a good nail salon and this is definitely one. The one thing I could say that's not great is the wait, but with quality service that is a good sign, right ? The parking lot is shared so it's a struggle unless you come early. The pedicure seats have a massage feature that is FREE OF CHARGE - because some places do charge to use it. Their bathrooms are clean and they have candy available by the register. May be little things to you yelpers, but for someone to take the time to think Of that makes all the difference. I'm surprised to read how many comments are written about the lack of professionalism from the nail techs. Question to ask yourself: how am I treating people who are working to make me feel/look good? When I stroll in I greet all of the ladies working and treat them with respect. I initiate conversation - while other clients would prefer silence. These nail techs give you an experience based on what you project. Gregory, the owner is ALWAYS POLITE & offers refreshments while you wait or when you get your nails done. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it!! My nails always last long. I let Sophia do mines every time I go and zoyla does my pedicure. Comes out perfect EVERYTIME. Remember.... It's always about having patience because they try to take their time with each and every customer. And they don't disrespect their customers despite the crap some people come with. When cutting my cuticles she actually made me bleed. thank goodness the utensils were right out the package. A definite plus, but the technician didn't seem apologetic at all for cutting me which really annoyed me. She kept painting over my cut n touching it as if she didn't previously injure me. Let me start from my beginning experience to end and include comparisons: When I first walked in, I was confused as to who to approach because I wasn't immediately greeted by staff.. it was initially 10 seconds of awkwardness. I was told to go pick out a color and after being fussy because I already had an idea of what color I wanted but.... the background lighting made it a little difficult to really see the true polish color, I finally settled on a few bottles of O.P.I. because I figured I couldn't go to wrong with the brand. The awkwardness and a bit of confusion came in when I saw other people start their pedicures before mine (approximately 2) and everytime I looked up I saw that time was steadily passing and it dawned on me that there were not enough nail technicians or pedicure technicians and I just hoped I could get my services done in a certain period of time... Eventually I was called to be seated and saw there wasn't a designated spot for my bag and coat (next visit I will leave my coat and bag in the car as there is parking directly outside) and I had to uncomfortably hold my bag and coat during my entire pedicure... My PEDICURE WAS EVERYTHING THOUGH!! The scrub that they use, had my feet soft and shiny and they use it ALL OVER your foot and on your legs as well.. my nails were painted to perfection, as they should since the O.P.I polish I ultimately chose was an additional $6.00 (it was considered a Luxe polish that doesn't chip or dull and a week later, the polish has held up its end of the deal. Chip and dull free! In a nutshell, my pedicure felt great and I felt like the products used, were good quality. My fill-in was done by Menzy and although it was quick and I'm sure Menzy meant well, the UV gel polish appeared streaky after drying and my nails looked a little uneven. Nothing she did felt memorable. Maybe it was me and my quest for nail nirvana but I wasn't totally taken away by the finished product and I love the color, but I have had better nail techs. Menzy has such a nice personality that I would come back to her from time to time, but I will go to my regular nail tech and look elsewhere as well. I also noticed that my nails looked like I needed another fill-in after a few days, which indicated that Menzy filed my acrylic too far away from the cuticle. In the end, I was a little irritated when I wanted to pay, because the prices are extremely high for the service and location, I really wanted to use my 15% off, being that my fill-in was $27.00, with $15.00 UV gel applicatuon brought it up to $42.00 total. My pedicure was $15.00 and with an additional charge of $6.00 for luxe O.P.I. no chip polish brought it to $21.00 plus tax for a GRAND TOTAL OF $63.69... AND WITH TIP (I always tip $10 for my fingers and $5 for toes, wasn't about to change for high prices here...) ended up being $78.69. Mind you, in most other urban areas, you will pay $50.00+ for the same thing and a tip.......... Well, the staffer wasn't able to use my coupon because the owner never showed her how to use the register in combination with Yelp and it didnt help that she didnt speak much English. She ended up calling the owner and after about 10 mins, I gave in and just paid the total with tip without a discount.. and the owner came in right after and I explained my desire to use the discount and he told me he would allow me to still use my coupon on my next visit which made me feel slightly better... In all, the need more nail techs with more precision, or just more employees in general and if they aren't going to lower the prices, they should offer more promotional sales and discounts, and make an area for bags and shoes, maybe some straw baskets by your chair for comfort... I will return but I won't be a regular with those prices. read more

This place shines above the rest! Came in while my friend got her nails done and i was AMAZEd at the cleanliness of the salon, the service by the girls, and just the overall feel of the spa. My friend loved the amazing products they carried, and i was shocked that the workers offered me a cup of coffee or tea while i waited, and i wasn't even getting anything done (although next time i will). After reading other reviews on here, yes the prices may be higher than the other places around but the difference is so clear! They should open up more of these nail spas in queens! read more
