This is used my nail spot on Linden Boulevard, but lately I noticed the nail technician are getting too lax in providing services. The first time i came here was during the height of the pandemic when everything was started to open back up. They were cautious and took all precautionary measures especially with the nail tool sets in sterilization. I don't know what changed, but went back twice and I got a nail fungus. Plus most of the nail do not speak English, which is a bit annoying because you cannot communicate your needs. If you make a suggestion or comment, they start speaking in their language as if you not supposed to have a say on your own service. The prices are ridiculously high, like most places but I least give me my money's worth. Will not return. read more

I needed a little TLC for my nails while I'm in the Big Apple so I stopped by a New Century Nail, a local queens spot. It wasn't crowded and they took me right away. After my non-English speaking nail tech finished trying to up-sale the a pedicure she began my service. She started running the water at 10:5and I kid you not she was completely done with the water, lotion, massage and polish by 11:04! Where's the TLC in that? On to my nail treatment... I had a young woman named JIZ do my nails. She was good! Even though her English was not great she was able to communicate with me and give me I wanted. I'm picky about my nails. When I pay for a service, I expect it to be worth my time and my dime. I was excited about my trip here after reading all the great reviews about the salon and all the different pedicure services. I'm here to sadly report that my experience did not live up to the hype. I arrived on a Monday evening. Everyone and their mother was getting a pedicure since the spring weather finally arrived. There was no one to greet you at the front of the salon, so you have to get in where you fit in and announce yourself and the service you desire. Strike 1. I get it. This is Hollis Queens. Strike 2. I waited a good 30 minutes for a pedicure chair to become available. Once the tech signaled me over I requested the Jelly pedicure. She filled the tub with orange gel and I placed my feet in the tub for what I will estimate as 10 minutes tops. Strike 3. The tech rushed through the pedicure in an effort to serve the other 10 patrons waiting on a pedicure. I suggest coming here on a Tuesday Morning perhaps. Maybe they won't rush the service. My tip reflected the rushed job. It felt like waiting to lose your virginity and the experience being mediocre. The feeling of wanting to masturbate at home alone. Thank God my finger nails we're done by another salon. Perks There were some positive aspects here. -The Jelly pedicure left my feet soft. -They use baby oil on your feet not lotion. - They use a newly packaged file, loofah on your feet. - the use the electric file to shape the toe nails . - the place is a clean establishment for the neighborhood. This business was pretty. I saw a list with names and expected to wait. So I just stood in front to be assisted. A lady came from the rear of the business and asked me if I wanted a certain service. I said I needed a pedicure. She quickly took me to the rear where she was originally and gave me a spot to sit for treatment. They put the massager on and started to work on my feet. Later I looked around to see the sign that read " massage 30 minutes $30. I was saying to myself that I didn't ask for that. She also gave me the treatment with the gel for $66. At the end I told her I didn't want the clear polish. I guess she didn't understand. She kept putting it on so another lady came over and I told her that I didn't want the clear shine because I'm going to the doctor's tomorrow. She translated and we all LOL as the first lady tapped my foot with a sponge out of playfulness anger and took it off. So I asked how much but I was dropping $100 in that place regardless of the price. She deducted the gel and said $41. I gave her $100 and they all were ecstatic. I went to my car to get $1 and gave it to them so they could have a cool $60. I gave them the $1 in coins and they LOL historically. I was in a hurry to get my nails done and this place was open. I was able to get in just an hour before they were closed. I wanted a gel manicure with a regular pedicure. Since we are in the holiday season I figured I should get some fun, festive nails. The instruments did not come out of a sterilization bag but I did see them come out of the portable sterilization machine. I really like the way my gel mani came out; I got so many compliments on it ( see pic). My pedicure didn't last 3 days unfortunately; they started chipping along the big toe. I'm not sure why that is but it was a bit annoying. I guess I'll try them again to see how well my pedi holds up. read more

The salon opened at 10:30. When I arrived around 10:45 it was already packed. There were about 6 pedicure stations open and six manicure stations open. After about a 10-15 minutes wait I was able to start my pedicure. The process seemed pretty standard. They cover the foot tubs with plastic coverings that are then thrown away. The materials are sterilized and they use disposable pumice. As you begin your pedicure they do try to upsale you with various types of pedicures. I did the callus pedicure but didn't really see the difference except they cover your feet in a cream and wrap it in Saran Wrap for a few minutes and then scrub it. The gel manicure I received was ok. I didn't find the the results to be stellar. Overall the gel manicure and callus pedicure cost $40. At least my manicurist was kind and didn't cut me. read more

Ok y'all so this 4 star is a Hood rating.. The bar is set lower than what I would expect from going to one of the individual technicians you see on the Gram but still want to get your money worth. A sister is trying to save some change, so I can't do it for the Gram lol.. I have been on a search for a around the way place that will still give me pretty nails that last a least a full 2 weeks without lifting. This may be the new place for me! I am on my second fill from them and so far so good. They fixed the shape from my set from another place.. the lady did a really good job! I was impressed- quick but not sloppy.. I also did the jelly pedicure which is always fun, girl did a nice job shaping toes nails and getting those cuticles... i went for a fill after two weeks and there was only minor lifting on one nail. My last pedicure chipped quickly ( on the beach ) so Opted for a gel pedicure this time.. young man did it- he was kinda meh, but he was oh so eager to please, I didn't complain.. He has to practice on someone lol.. my toes look good enough but I think I will have dry looking toes in a few days.. ***please note- they use cheap acrylic- if you have ever had a bad reaction to the acrylic when doing your nails, don't do it to yourself and stay away.. I was actually a little nervous my finger was burning the rest of the day after I did my fill, which is a clear sign the ish ain't right.. the second time that didn't happen, but I knew it was a risk. They do seem clean tho.. used different pumice stones but I don't remember seeing the tools sterilized. Will keep an eye out next time. For the fill with gel top, and gel pedicure I paid like 65 I think, which is not bad- I was paying that for just the nails before.. in short- will I go again- Yes- be there in two weeks lol! read more

I hate to leave a good review for fear that the place will become overcrowded but I have to give credit where it is due. I've been to many nail salons and this one is great! Jenny gave me the best jelly pedicure with gel and a gel manicure. She was neat, quiet, and effective without being rough. They use liners in the tub and a brand new kit (buffer and emery board) for each person. The place is immaculately clean, smells nice and it is not noisy. Love it there. My favorite girl don't work there anymore but the others are doing a good job. Clean place and I love the fact that use the liner in the pedicure tub. My gel manicure last for 2 weeks plus. I'm the one who takes them out because I get bored real fast so I tend to want color out . Great place to get your nails done.
