I've casually tried other Muay Thai gyms in the past, but they often suggested bag classes for women. Here you can choose from a variety of classes and there's an emphasis on both getting a good workout and learning the form of each movement. As a person with massive social anxiety because I'm definitely not a fast learner, I'm always worried when doing group classes and partner drills that I'm slowing people down. However, I've never taken a class here where I've felt judged by anyone. Everyone from the coaches to the other students are always super supportive and encouraging. There's a culture of students helping each other while coaches make sure everyone of all skill levels is being challenged. You also have the option of doing private training. If you're curious at all, try the intro session and I promise you that you won't regret at least trying.

I enrolled him in the Tae Kwon Do class, from the very begining he started taking classes with Master V. I saw my son transforming himself into a more secure, confident young man. My son was very shy and wasnt into team sports, at the time he was 7 years old. As I began to notice all of the positive changes, I too wanted to get envolved so I decided to tak the adults class. It was the best investment I've ever made. It gave me the confidence, self esteem and the best work out ever. I highly recommend you to check the studio out you will not be dissapointed. My son is now a 15 y.o and he is very respectful, confident and organize young man. I am sure that being part of the martial arts family allowed him to become the young man he is today.There's classes for all ages, and if Tae Kwon Do is not the one for you he has a diverse studio that also offers kick boxing, mixed martial arts too. The owners, professors, and coaches have cultivated a superb gym culture. This gym is safe, friendly, and supportive. The facility is modern and clean, and they've invested in a foam block subfloor beneath the mats for softer landings. As far as I know, this is the only gym in the area that offers women-only classes four times per week and a bi-monthly community open mat for gentlemen 40 years and older. My kids train here after school 4-5 days a week, and they love it. The kids' professors and coaches are experienced and amazing teachers. I'm especially thankful for the young coaches who were so patient and kind to my boys when they were hesitant and shy after first starting. And my pocketbook is especially thankful for the discounted rates for additional family members. If you're looking for a place where the whole family can train, grow, and feel welcome, I can't recommend Teragi highly enough.

I've been to places where it seemed salesy or lacking authenticity. Teragi Academy is a place where they genuinely practice and instill jiu jitsu and its culture of honor and regard of others. The promotion of belts is carried out quarterly and only awarded based on merit. This is also something I greatly appreciate because I know many establishments that give out promotions for no reason at all. Since day one, the professors and coaches of this gym have been patient and meticulous in teaching techniques to the kids. Teragi has been instrumental in providing confidence as well as self awareness for my son. I've seen many of the other kids mature in their own ways for the past 2 years. It's always a wonder to see everyone come up together. For myself and my family, we seen so much growth and discipline in our boy. There's a comfort in knowing that our child is not left helpless and able to stand up himself as well as for others. I've been watching in the sidelines, two to three times a week, for the last 2 years. This is a program that provides a worthwhile experience. Before enrolling, we visited the dojo just to tour the location and help ease his nerves. We are so incredibly thankful that Sensei Ayraton took the time to personally give him a tour and gently reassure him before his first class. That meant more to us than she probably realizes. On the day of his first class, my son cried and was extremely anxious. Instead of pushing him, Sensei Ayraton allowed him to simply watch and get comfortable at his own pace. That patience and understanding made all the difference. By the next class, he was ready to slowly ease in. Since then, my son has grown so much. He now loves karate and looks forward to every session. I've watched his self-esteem and confidence grow week after week, and it has been such a blessing to see. I went on Yelp to browse places in the community, and Longevity offered a trial class unlike other places I inquired about. Aside from my daughter enjoying the classes, she has been taught important lessons - not only within martial arts but lessons that she could incorporate outside of the dojo. Master Handley and Sensei Ayraton are very friendly and have been supportive throughout the years my daughter attended. Fast forward to today, my daughter also helps out with the younger kids classes as part of their STORM program.
