    Brisket melt and fries

Saturday 5/23/26. Been driving all day in the rain from Hartford, CT. Tired and hungry. Picked this restaurant from my gps. It looked nice on the outside. Parking lot pretty full. Tents were set up with people selling things in the rain. Went inside, was greeted by a polite individual who seated us right away in a booth. We noticed there were people selling things inside the restaurant. Waiter greeted us, took our drink order. Then I noticed a woman with a stroller with a dog in it. (Took a pic) Restaurants usually don't allow dogs unless they are service dogs. So this irritated me. Server takes our food order. More and more people are congregating at the displays and now getting noisy. Food arrived. A group of 6 individuals stood close to our booth the whole time while we ate. Very annoying. They left when the server brought the check. Food was good, I had the brisket melt which was bland and had to ask for some bbq sauce. Had a side of fries which seemed small for the $3 additional charge. gf had Philly cheese steak. Server was nice and polite. Restaurant looked clean.

This was our second visit to Funck's Restaurant in two days. It met every expectation that this really big group had. We appreciated that we were able to sit together within minutes. Not many restaurants will attempt to seat a big group without reservations. The food, every single plate was fresh, flavorful, crispy and tasty. My order today was a very juicy Smash Burger with sautéed onions, tomatoes and lettuce We played a Trivia game and failed spectacularly. We'll be back next year!

Very cool and trendy spot, loved the design work in here. Delicious food and fun atmosphere. The outdoor igloos also looked enticing. Would love to come again during warmer weather to enjoy the patio

Food here was pretty good! I got the seafood tacos, french onion soup, and sweet potato fries. The service speed was fine, but our waiter did forget to bring the fries and he promised to take them off the receipt... and then forgot to do that too. I also had requested the tacos without arugula due to an allergy and they came WITH arugula and had to be sent back. The server was apologetic and seemed to be the only waiter serving all the tables in the back. The ambiance of this place is awesome. Every area has its own vibe and i would've loved to dine outside on a cooler day. The indoor area has garage door walls that can be rolled up to connect it to the outside seating. One issue is... there were some persistent flies that kept coming for our food perhaps a citronella candle is in order

Made it in time for happy hour, and boy - those apps were good. There was something for everyone in our four person group. I really enjoyed the fish and chips I got. I was moved to get the sneaky tiki (drink) specifically so I could take the cup (which Funck's says you can do). So, great marketing there. Zachary was a wonderful server and answered all our questions well.

Good diner caliber food at the right price. Very nice outdoor patio seating, weather permitting and a cool bar vibe.

    Chocolate peanut butter cake. Delicious!!!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. What a fun experience! We had great service, food, drinks and the atmosphere was very cool. We dined in an igloo, that we reserved for $25, well worth it. I had cheese steak egg rolls, they were yummy!

We loved the decor when walking in, the place is huge and got sat in the back bar area, it was a gorgeous day and they had the doors open. Our little one was hangry so we ordered her mac&cheese and asparagus right away. The beer menu is crazy they have a lot on tap my husband asked for a Hazy IPA and our server recommended something he really loved. We got the Reuben Egg-rolls which were a special for St Patrick's Day and they were so delicious! I got the French onion soup that was really yummy and hit the spot. My husband got the fish and chips which he enjoyed & had to take half home. The best part was our server Jim he was amazing. Very nice, friendly and gave us great recommendations. It was our little girls bday and he also got her some ice cream with a candle and she loved it! Thanks for making a simple lunch such a great time, we will def make the trip to come back after such a great experience.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

When we were seated, we were given the prix fixe food menu but never provided with a drink menu. We were served water, but our waitress didn't ask if we'd like cocktails, wine, or any featured Valentine's drinks. For a special occasion dinner, that felt like a major oversight. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Several courses were noticeably undercooked and difficult to enjoy. The carrot salad had hard, undercooked carrots and a very bitter sauce that overwhelmed the dish. The grilled Badger Flame beets were also undercooked and had an unpleasant flavor. The beet risotto was firm and lacked the creamy consistency you expect from a properly prepared risotto. The halibut tasted overly fishy and seemed undercooked in the center. For $75 per person on Valentine's Day, we expected a polished, thoughtfully executed experience. Instead, the meal felt poorly prepared and not worth the price. It was an unsatisfying way to spend what should have been a special evening. The ambiance was very nice but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.
