We brought our daughter here, visiting from the military in Okinawa....we had an awesome experience once again! We all had the harvest salad, hubby had it with brisket, me with salmon and Megan with chicken....very good and had plenty! Beer was cold and delicious, Megan had a flight and well with the price! She also got their chocolate chip cookie warmed with ice cream and she loved it!Atmosphere nice, place always clean....looking forward to visiting again soon. Saturday 5/23/26. Been driving all day in the rain from Hartford, CT. Tired and hungry. Picked this restaurant from my gps. It looked nice on the outside. Parking lot pretty full. Tents were set up with people selling things in the rain. Went inside, was greeted by a polite individual who seated us right away in a booth. We noticed there were people selling things inside the restaurant. Waiter greeted us, took our drink order. Then I noticed a woman with a stroller with a dog in it. (Took a pic) Restaurants usually don't allow dogs unless they are service dogs. So this irritated me. Server takes our food order. More and more people are congregating at the displays and now getting noisy. Food arrived. A group of 6 individuals stood close to our booth the whole time while we ate. Very annoying. They left when the server brought the check. Food was good, I had the brisket melt which was bland and had to ask for some bbq sauce. Had a side of fries which seemed small for the $3 additional charge. gf had Philly cheese steak. Server was nice and polite. Restaurant looked clean. read more

This was our second visit to Funck's Restaurant in two days. It met every expectation that this really big group had. We appreciated that we were able to sit together within minutes. Not many restaurants will attempt to seat a big group without reservations. The food, every single plate was fresh, flavorful, crispy and tasty. My order today was a very juicy Smash Burger with sautéed onions, tomatoes and lettuce We played a Trivia game and failed spectacularly. We'll be back next year! read more

Food here was pretty good! I got the seafood tacos, french onion soup, and sweet potato fries. The service speed was fine, but our waiter did forget to bring the fries and he promised to take them off the receipt... and then forgot to do that too. I also had requested the tacos without arugula due to an allergy and they came WITH arugula and had to be sent back. The server was apologetic and seemed to be the only waiter serving all the tables in the back. The ambiance of this place is awesome. Every area has its own vibe and i would've loved to dine outside on a cooler day. The indoor area has garage door walls that can be rolled up to connect it to the outside seating. Ambiance was the main reason for the stars. It was well appointed and nicely decorated. Service was good. The waitress was attentive but I think she was the only one working there. Seating was terrible. We were a family of 4 and they sat us in booth next to two large loud groups when there were plenty of other spots to put us. There were kids running around at the other table and shrieking the whole time. Food was ok. Nashville hot chicken was good but the brisket sandwich was dry as Heck. I was SO looking forward to Funk's, after reading all the amazing reviews. Today, the restaurant was super quiet and the igloo seating was previously booked. Darn! With the snow on the trees, this would have been such a picturesque dining experience. Glancing at the menu, so many wonderful choices. I started with an app of french onion soup and the hubby ordered, crab rangoon eggrolls. This rendition of french onion soup, was one of the worst, I've ever tasted. Absence of onion caramelization, lacking rich, toothsome beef broth, overtaken by a dousing of sherry and overly salted. Goodness, no. Crab rangoon eggrolls, crisp shell, hot, oozy cream cheese filling, a slight essence of crab, indiscernable in sight and texture, another disappointment. Ordered their "special" salad: bacon, blue cheese, candied walnuts, apple slices, greens - decent, fresh, but by now, I'm not happy and where is my waiter? Ugh! I don't understand, this restaurant is nearly empty and my husband has been waiting for a refill on his drink, for nearly 15 minutes. During the tail end of our stay, he appeared in being a bit more attentive. Why, why did I order dessert; because it's chocolate cake with peanutbutter frosting, duh! Made it in time for happy hour, and boy - those apps were good. There was something for everyone in our four person group. I really enjoyed the fish and chips I got. I was moved to get the sneaky tiki (drink) specifically so I could take the cup (which Funck's says you can do). So, great marketing there. We loved the decor when walking in, the place is huge and got sat in the back bar area, it was a gorgeous day and they had the doors open. Our little one was hangry so we ordered her mac&cheese and asparagus right away. The beer menu is crazy they have a lot on tap my husband asked for a Hazy IPA and our server recommended something he really loved. We got the Reuben Egg-rolls which were a special for St Patrick's Day and they were so delicious! I got the French onion soup that was really yummy and hit the spot. My husband got the fish and chips which he enjoyed & had to take half home. The best part was our server Jim he was amazing. Very nice, friendly and gave us great recommendations. It was our little girls bday and he also got her some ice cream with a candle and she loved it! We had such a wonderful experience here for lunch. This property is huge: large bar, lots of indoor seating, a sunroom area and a very nice patio. The ambiance was very neutral, but in a good way. They had potted plants and hanging baskets that made you feel like staying for a while. Our server was very friendly and prompt with all our items. The beer selection is excellent! My burger was SO tasty and cooked a perfect medium rare. The grilled cheese my 5-year old got was gorgeously golden and on very nice, thick bread. My 2-year old got chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries. The nuggets were actual white meat pieces, fried nicely and looked homemade. We went here in a recent trip to Lancaster PA. Food was amazing. Service was good. Beautiful decor and very clean. There was no wait, so we didn't notice the games in the lobby but stopped to play a round of "Shut the Door" on the way out. We would absolutely go back on our next trip. read more

We had lunch at Funcks yesterday. Our waiter Nicholas was very helpful and knowledgeable with a great attitude. The Fish and Chips were very good. Real fillet no fish sticks here. The Smash Burger with chips was very good. The Brisket sandwich was excellent. The Tomato Bisque with a side salad was very good. We found Funcks to be quite a pleasant surprise. Several options for dining that include an outdoor patio with igloos to accommodate parties of 6 to 8. Great atmosphere, every staff member we spoke with was exceptionally pleasant. I've been to Funck's more than most since it's kid friendly and so close to home. I've had just about everything on the menu, most of the drinks, and quite a few of the beers. The beer selection is fantastic and is a rock solid 5 stars The atmosphere an ambiance of the restaurant is very good. 5 stars. The food, however, is definitely the weak spot at Funcks. It's not that anything is bad, but it's clear that in an effort to streamline the kitchen and keep food costs in line there's been a few too many corners cut. I'd love to see you guys drop a few menu items and do a few more things properly and actually in house. Why don't you cut your own fries if you're going to upcharge for them? What's up with the pre-boiled eggs and pre-shredded cheese on the salads? The 'brisket' that you offer isn't smoked and is miles behind a chain like Mission BBQ. If you're going to feature tacos you need to at least warm the tortillas if you're not going to make your own. For a place that has so many things right, I can't understand why you'd decide to cut such an important corner. Bring some life to the kitchen and put some real cooking on the plate. 4 stars, barely. read more

We've been here a couple of times, the service is always great. They have a really great team here. The food is pretty good and the ambiance is always great. I love sitting outside and enjoying the living music. They treat you well here no matter who you are and the demographic of patrons varies from young to older. Had a 530 reservation but arrived before 5. Welcomed enthusiastically and seated right away. Nice surprise was happy hour throughout restaurant. We each had a glass of wine and shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer. Perfectly roasted and seasoned. The honey was a surprising touch. This building has changed hands since the 80's quite often. I remember when it was Leola Family Restaurant in the early 90's. Funck's has seem to give it a little boost in terms of menu and decor. They are trying. I enjoyed the meal and I love the new outdoor seating area. read more

I always give restaurants a chance to respond but it appears that they only respond to positive reviews. Went there on a trip about 4 weeks ago and it was just a bad experience. Not because the food was bad but because the service and the server were terrible. Not even going into detail as it does not matter because it appears recently that unless you positively respond your review will not be given the time of day. For the money they charge and the lack of enthusiasm from the server and the amount of time it actually took to get the food, then you can def do better and spend less. Limited menu, high prices, very unfriendly and no personality servers who lack the ability to get your order correct, and takes forever on slow nights to get your food. As I doubt anyone will get back to me from the restaurant it just easier to go elsewhere and they are not getting another chance. read more

Last night, my husband and friends decided to try this place out as we've heard really good things about it. There's a ton of parking and the building itself is beautiful. It's huge with lots of different areas to sit, I noticed at least two bars. We made reservations and were sat by the hostess promptly. We reserved an igloo, which was hands down one of the coolest experiences ever. They had heaters in them, but one of ours wasn't working. However, it remained warm and we enjoyed our time there. Our server was SO nice and very helpful as we've never been there before. She was quick and attentive to our needs. We started with drinks and they had a great selection to choose from. I ordered the sangria flight and WOW! My only dilemma was that they could have used some ice but otherwise I loved this concept. My husband enjoyed his old fashioned and our friends enjoyed their drinks as well. We started with the chicken nachos, pierogies, and the pretzel braid. The pretzel braid was good and the beer cheese was excellent. The pierogies were cooked perfectly and had a ton of flavor. The chicken nachos were some of the best I've ever had. I enjoyed that the sauces were on the side so nothing became mushy. I ordered the chicken tacos with a side of sweet potato fries. The tacos were SO good! I thought they had just a little zing to them. My husband enjoyed his Korean brisket bowl which was a special. All the food was served hot and had excellent flavor. Overall, I really enjoyed it here. I was in the mood for some comfort food, I was there for the weekend, and my wife and I were fighting colds. I ordered fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, my wife salad with chicken strips. It was delivered by door dash and you never know what to expect. But it was hot not dried out, crispy and delicious. Wife's salad was fresh crispy and the chicken uniquely flavored.
