Bought a new highly polished blue SA-35 Springfield Armory online back on 4/4 and put in the notes to check the firearm for any issues before sending to my FFL. Received an email from Matthew P. right after placing my order notifying me of the milling defects on the frame on the best one they had in stock (with pictures attached in an email from him), and wanted to know how I'd like to proceed. I notified Springfield Armory about the issue and the firearm in question was sent back to S.A. (before heading my way). Matthew spoke with my wife and took care of the defective SA-35 being sent to Springfield Armory immediately. I called S.A. every week they had it for updates, and they decided to replace the SA-35 in question and send it back to Grady's and then to my FFL. Once received at Grady's, Matthew made a point to get my SA-35 from the loading dock the day it arrived at Grady's, looked it over for any issues, and immediately sent it to my FFL next day air after giving it a thumbs up. Matthew P. went above and beyond in customer service to ensure this customer was accommodated (being a disabled veteran on a limited income). I've spent hundreds of dollars in this establishment and was ready to buy one of their most expensive riffles (scar) for my boyfriend a few weeks ago... but when I was in the section of ammo, an older man was giving me advice on self defense rounds for my sig p938 and I picked up a pack of sig bullets. My boyfriend then overheard a much younger employee say "I'm sure she will set those down and not even buy them." That really pissed me off! So I did leave! I'll never go back. I like supporting local businesses, but not with employees like that! Just for reference, I bought a pair of costas and a large bogg bag and several gift cards at Christmas time. I have been salivating over their superb outdoor equipment for decades... When I had a recent problem with merchandise from Grady's, the owner himself made it right even though it would have been easy to blame me for not trying on that shirt for a year. That, yelp readers, is true customer service. I have purchased a number of long guns from this business and have found that the sales staff in the gun department has extensive knowledge of all types of guns. I see them giving no nonsense advice to first time buyers as well as experienced shooters. Quite frankly, it's a pleasure to stop by and talk with these guys; and I do that whenever I have a chance. Occasionally I walk out with a rifle... They have some top rated clothing too, mostly for the outdoors, but there is enough of a selection to attract my wife into their women's section. (Brilliant move to sell women's clothing in what once was a store attracting 90+% men. My wife is happy to tag along while I touch a few pistols... The obvious downside is that she may, and usually does spend some cash. But then what's better than a happy wife and a great gun selection?) They have a varied and interesting selection of knives that range from just good values to some really good names. I have a few that are superb. Believe it or not, my wife has become a fan of high end pocket knives and as of now she had more nice pocket knives from Grady's than I do. I've purchased fishing equipment from these guys and have to say that they are the only people who ever gave me fishing advice that actually worked. I'm not a big fisherman, but would go by here just for the expertise if I have the occasion to do some fishing. They have some excellent sunglasses and have sold us a few pairs. I picked up a pair of Smiths a few weeks ago to help enjoy traveling in a convertible with the top down... The list of impressive outdoor equipment is extensive. I have a kayak (Hobie) from them that is a tough as nails. We bought a safe and had it delivered by the guys in that department. Excellent price, good deal on delivery, they even came out to visit before delivery just to make certain the thing would fit. Shoes... Yeti stuff... Big Green Egg equipment... Ammo... Excellent people... Excellent merchandise... Excellent store... All together, I am thrilled with the place. read more

GREEEEEEEDY Grady's strikes again! I have heard people discuss Grady's for a while but never experienced it myself. I have shopped with them for years even when I moved in Simpsonville would make the drive. However my first return/ warranty issue has made it clear to me that GRADYS DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! When I attempted to return a $29.00 Defective Hydro Flask cup WITHOUT a receipt. I purchased it months before and explained that I did not want a cash refund or even a store credit just an exchange. After speaking with 4 difference people who said they had never seen the brand Hydro Flask break down the Manager explained that GREEEEEDY Grady's no longer sells Hydro so I said no problem Yeti is the same price even exchange. But that wasn't an option for GREEEDY Grady's. I will NEVER shop with a retailer that cares so little about their local South Carolina customers. People then wonder why Amazon has experienced such success. 3/19/2018 UPDATE- John I have never received a message from you to date! The Hydro Flask was NOT abused and two of your employees noted that in the store (here is a current picture). Why then post a lie or in this case 2??? If you read my Yelp review I mentioned that I did NOT have a receipt. Your company is indeed GREEDY and resources like Yelp allow consumers to have a voice and a choice. Hopefully they go elsewhere when it comes to your store. Gradys has a great selection of outdoor gear, with a lot of options not found in other outdoor retailers. I live about an hour away but still visit the store frequently. I have purchased quite a few things from them including firearms and ammo. The only disappointment is (as of recent) the gun counter is a hot mess due to the volume of customers in the store. With patience most issues work themselves out, and most problems are not the stores fault. Just be prepared for the upstream fight to get to the counter. All in all it's a great store with lots of quality products! read more

I own a Hobie Mirage Kayak and ordered turbo fins from a company in Austin, TX. I was able to install one of the fins, but the rod for the other could not be removed. I spoke with Derrick at Grady's, who said that he was familiar with the problem and could fix it, but it would require replacing the housing for the rod. He said that he had the housing in stock and could replace it while I waited. It obviously required a fair amount of expertise in repairing Hobie products and he did a great job. He charged a reasonable amount an had it fixed in a few hours. Great service! read more

Great service on bike repairs! They VALUE YOUR BUSINESS. This is the 2nd time we've taken our bikes to get either fixed or tuned up or both, at Grady's. I can tell you they do QUALITY WORK, they are efficient, and extremely knowledgeable, as well as helpful! This particular time, I took in the bikes (instead of my husband) and Derrick went above and beyond the call of duty! He got my approval before anything unexpected was charged for, he did some additional work that needed to be done, and he even helped me put my new bike rack on my vehicle to cart the bikes home! I came from Seneca, and did a few other errands in Anderson while there, and will never go to another bike repair shop but Grady's!! And they don't RIP YOU OFF!! read more

I found this place on the USreels.com website. Grady's is 45 min. from my house, but it was well worth the trip. The customer services that we received when we first came through the door is first class all the way. Every department we walked by there was someone there with a smile and a warm greeting. The building is small but they have extensive selection of fishing, hunting, and apparel. The staff is very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this place to anyone into outdoor sports. This place delivers customer services that make you want to come back again and again. read more

This has become my go-to place for hunting and fishing gear. I have been to stand-alone gun stores that don't have half the inventory of firearms you'll find here.
