I was at Grady's today, 8/22/25 for breakfast. I had the wild skillet. I enjoyed my breakfast. I was drinking my water and noticed the glass was cracked. I asked for the manager. I showed the manager the cracked glass. The manager provided every excuse why the glass was cracked. The manager never removed the glass, or offered me another glass of water. The manager's action or lack of action, shows me what you really think of your customers or what you thought of me. I will no longer patrionize Grady's. read more

Went to Grady's Snack and Dine today in Homewood, Illinois, with husband. Everything was going fine. Food was OK, service was better. Asked for a SLICE, MIND YOU, ONE SLICE OF ONION for my cheeseburger and fries. This restaurant had the audacity to charge us $.99 for one funky SLICE OF AN ONION! Well, good for them because we will never go back! I will make it my business NOT to recommend them or their restaurant and will inform friends and family of their policy. Don't know who made that decision, but it was definitely the wrong one. Now I know why they were empty at 4:30 in the afternoon except for us and for 2 other ladies who came in. This isn't our first time, but we are regulars and we always are pleased with the delicious food. Fresh, tasty and generous portion sizes is a regular thing here. We're also always excited to see the robot serve the meals. Always quick service and efficiency. I really don't know what the big deal is about this place. Was there long time ago when it was Grady's grill and the chicken was underdone and we walked out. So I tried it again, the place was busy and we were seated and the waitress comes over and acts like we were disturbing her. She was impatiently tapping her finger nails on the table and was looking at the ceiling and was so unhappy to be there, she made us feel like we not valued customers, so we left. I DO NOT OR WILL EVER WILL NOT NEED ANYTHING TO EAT THAT BAD THAT I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH A STANK ATTITUDE WHEN I HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT SMILE AT SOMEONE. Yesterday I ate the best form of eggs benedict EVER!! It's called Lobster Benedict, and it lives up to its name. If you're a lobster lover like I am, you'll love it too. I visited Grady's twice. On my first visit, I ordered the cheeseburger cooked medium. The burger was similar to a smash burger juicy cooked medium on a toasted bun. The two burger patties were round and had a thin layer of cheese on each patty, and tater tots were hot. EXCELLENT!!!! Our waiter was extremely polite and accommodating. On my second visit, I ordered the same cheeseburger cooked medium, and it was beyond HORRIBLE!! The meat was square gray and dry, resembling a poor quality veggie or turkey burger. I should have sent it back when I saw it was loaded with cheese. The bun crumbled when I had to use the knife to separate the bun from the cheese to add mayo. I spoke with the waitress about my two experiences. She was not interested quickly, explaining that the meat was the same each time with a nasty attitude. I really wanted to like this place since it's so close! I heard good and bad so I wanted to go and find out once and for all. The menu looked promising (mimosas!) and since I was there late morning, I opted for the bacon egg and cheese burger and fries. The waitress was nice and I was seated quick enough as I beat the rush. The fries were disappointing. While cooked well and arriving hot, they were mealy inside. Not a great fry at all. But I persevered even with a brand of ketchup they had which I did not care for but others may. The meat of the burger was good as well as the cheddar. Sadly, the bacon was more fat than anything. I had to do the napkin to the face to get rid of it. The bun was toasted and weird but okay. As a side note, at the next table, someone ordered steak and eggs. The waitress asked if they really wanted it because when people get it she sees them having to saw through it. Needless to say, the woman changed her order. I appreciated her honesty. read more

I've been here a couple times and it's very cute! The people are nice. I like the vibes, there's a robot that helps bring the food. Lots of menu selections, the food was good but not great. My meal was cold and very salty, it wasn't the worst but just okay. I found this place to be quite overpriced and for me, I'm not willing to pay those prices for just okay. I think this is a great place for laid back occasions with family , friends, informal dates. The weekends are busy, it does give the diner feel with having indoor and outdoor seating options. Food was good/ok; rest was meh. Ordered brunch for pickup. App said order was "ready" for pick up, but it was not ready at the restaurant for 20 more minutes. Wish that would have been accurate to prevent me from standing and waiting for 20 minutes. I got biscuits and gravy with tater tots. My food was ice cold. Good once heated, but I am guessing it sat for a while. My husband got a skillet which was piping hot with toast. It was good. We also ordered a side of pancakes and a slice of carrot cake. The pancakes. were not given to us. The cake tasted like it had sat in the fridge for some time. It was also very strongly spiced, but that did not cover the fridge/freezer taste. I threw it out. The food was good but expensive for the hassle. Cake and pancakes were a total loss; and if I wanted to microwave something, I could have done that with our own leftovers for free. I wish they offered more alternatives for refillable drinks and more straightforward beverages like root beer. For a different and less expensive breakfast, we frequently visit Blueberry. However, I like the variety of alternatives and the mimosas in the morning offered here paired with the patio area. In my experience, pastries are not recommended. Although the cakes appear stunning, they are really dry. Ultimately, this is where we bring guests since I prefer the atmosphere. read more

The young lady who assisted me with my solo , dine-in experience today was Ginger - and she has the most welcoming and bubbly personality. The salmon croquettes were good- not like I remember grandmas but still delicious in their own version- I had them with hollandaise sauce which I would normally not have with salmon croquettes but the sauce complimented them well. Also had scrambled eggs and grits which were equally good. I enjoyed reading a book while I dined and although this is not a quiet restaurant, I could still enjoy my reading without feeling any annoying noise distractions. The noise level is reasonable. Updated Comments: My appetite for this place just got spoiled. It's always the little things. An overt error on the menu (online and in the restaurant) CLEARLY indicates side items for the Grady' Best entrees. The staff tells me that it is an error and exceptions apply. The menu, however, says the exceptions must be noted. Yet, nothing is noted. The choice by MANAGEMENT to tell staff NOT to honor the printed menu leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. It clearly feels like I'm being fooled or cheated. Original Review: The renovation at Grady's was loooong overdue. The service is decent with a very responsive management team. The prices are extremely reasonable. The fried chicken really needs a flavor upgrade. Plain is really plain. Season the chicken batter with salt and pepper, at the least. read more

I was in the mood for pasta this visit. I customized my order. This is the grilled chicken alfredo pasta with broccoli, spinach and mushrooms. As alfredo's go this was ok. It wasn't too creamy, as in a dairy swimming pool, it was just enough sauce to get the job done. Although the pic doesn't look like it there was more sauce at the bottom.
