We've LOVED Graeters for almost 30 years! Both in Cincinnati when we lived there and now in the Columbus area. Graeters DOES make the best ice cream in the world! Now, having said that, we've been disappointed the last 2 or 3 times and have reduced our "stop for ice cream" trips from 2 or 3 times a month to every 6 weeks or so. Why! A price increase coupled with reduced portion size has been disappointing! I once had a goal to make it to all of the Central Ohio Graeter's locations and write a subsequent Yelp review on each one. I've now moved out to Arizona, but I'm still somehow making progress on my goal each time I head back to OH for a visit. This most recent time, my niece wanted Graeter's after her gymnastics meet in Hilliard. All told, Graeter's is the best ice cream, hands down. They have locations in pretty much all of the main suburbs of Columbus. The Bexley one was my "home base" until I moved. Graeter's has been around for 150 years, so really, I shouldn't have to explain how good it is given they've got to be one the oldest scoop shops in the country. They are known for their MASSIVE chocolate chips and for their Black Raspberry Chip ice cream (a must try). My personal favorites are Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Double Chocolate Chip, Buckeye Blitz, Peanut Butter Chip, and Banana Chip (seasonal)-- the latter two using milk chocolate instead of their traditional dark chocolate. Given that I now live in Arizona, I am SO BLESSED that our local grocery store (Fry's) is owned by Kroger and they have 7 flavors of Graeter's to purchase. Even if they didn't have that, I'd spend the money to get Graeter's shipped to me across the country. It's just that good and it will forever be my fave. Alright, I've never been a Graeter's fan. I prefer the smaller mom & pop places. I wasn't excited they moved to Hilliard, even with a drive-thru. Then. I was a passenger in the car when my husband wanted ice cream once night. He got the Brown Butter Bourbon Pecan. What? That sounded way too good to pass up. It is the best. I was very hesitant to love this ice cream joint after being a huge fan of Jenni's. Nothing touches jenni's gooey butter cake but there are a few flavors at graeters that can compete! Hey Hilliard has a Graeter's. This is exciting. My daughter and I decided to check out the new Graeter's and found that parking is limited. Very limited and the drive Thru makes that a mess. But we were lucky and snagged the last spot. Place is clean and always great ice cream. I had the black cherry with chocolate chips and the daughter had her favorite chocolate chip cookie dough which they messed up and gave her Oreo , but let her have both. Actually putting malt in my vanilla malt? Imagine that! I have spent 20 years looking for a great vanilla malt only to be handed a plain vanilla shake. I was super happy when the one I ordered actually came through. The drive through line might have been long, but the wait was short as the folks inside kept it moving rapidly and stayed incredibly cheerful. The star though is definitely the ice cream. I am in love with this new Greater's in Hilliard. I can't believe it took so long for them to build this! No more having to drive to Dublin or Upper Arlington for amazing Ice Cream! This place is great! They have a huge parking lot, a drive thru window, and are nicely located right off Cemetery Road in Hilliard. Went in with my Dad on my last day in town before flying home to Florida. I got here around 7:30 and the drive thru lane did wrap around the building. We went inside since we did not want to wait in the line. I got my usual. Two scoops in a cup. I got Buckeye Blitz first and then Black Raspberry Chip. The ice cream here is french pressed with huge chunks of chocolate inside of it. The staff here are all kids for the most part, but are all super friendly! The ice cream must have been frozen solid cause it looked like they really had to scoop extra hard to get it into the cup! I love Greater's and can't wait till next Christmas when I can come back and try more from this place! read more

I just love this place! They are very efficient with the heavy traffic coming through, and they're always so friendly. The best part is the absolute overload of flavors and different combinations you can do. They can substitute flavors for the sundaes as well. My favorite flavor is the Vienna coffee. Their seasonal peppermint milkshake is also great. This time I tried their new coconut fudge delight milkshake and it was amazing! Graeter's has always been my favorite ice cream since i can remember ! I grew up going to the graeter's on bethel road with the play area and have always wondered why there is not a graeter's in Hilliard yet ! Well now there is and it's competing with our local Dairy Queen which is very popular. But it seems to be working. The parking is hectic, and the drive thru line was extremely long so after we snag a spot that may have not actually been a spot, we went in. It was busy in side as well and took about 10 minutes to get to the ordering part. The guy heard the wrong ice cream so i got it for free ! They were very polite and was just busy so that can happen to anyone. But the ice cream was great as ever and I'll be going back ! read more

It was HORRIBLE they could not hear a word my family said! My little brother asked for a New York baseball hat with cotton candy ice cream. Simple right?! NO they kept asking him this one, this one, this one it was so simple all it had was a N and a Y!!!! Their music was so loud he had to slightly scream for them to hear him! He even said the cotton candy ice cream was terrible after he ate it all he almost threw up! Did I also mention that they don't wipe the outside tables even with the whole virus going around we almost sat at a table and there was gunk ALL over it! When I visited, there were 4 young girls behind the counter but not one of them greeted us or offered to take our order because there was cute boy customer that had all of their attention. AWE FULL SERVICE!!! They can't hear anything and it took them 8 minutes to take my brothers order just because they couldn't hear what baseball team cap he wanted. My dad kept shouting "NEW YORK" and they just kept saying "huh? Huh? Huh?" And we all head to repeat our orders at least once. Every time we go they can't hear us at all!!! They act like our parents are dumb because they are deaf when they can understand perfectly. Also very expensive and it almost costs almost 40 dollars for only 5 people. Also afterwords me and my three siblings got very very sick from their ice cream. There was 10 workers in the front just bunched in one group for no reason. No one else was there. We are never eating there again and they do not wash the tables and chairs outside. There was a table that had ice cream and sticky stuff all over the table and the chairs were sticky. Grater's is a real ice cream shop. None of this "frozen dairy dessert" stuff that is often described as ice cream these days. My personal two favorites are the Black Raspberry Chip and the Double Chocolate Chip. It's kind of pricy to be honest, but if you're like me once you've had it you'll want to come back for more.
