Stopped here for the first time and was able to try samples of several ice cream flavors and decided to go with Buckeye Blitz and it was good , I was hoping for a rocky road flavor but this was a good flavor. My ice cream craving strikes again..Graeters was highly recommended as the best. I want to say this is a clean well run sweets emporium. In addition to ice cream they had baked goods and chocolate which I did not try. There were no telltale sticky tables or crumbie floors. Yay! Their flavors were average. Half their ice creams had mixed in "chocolate chunks" which were soft & fudgy-ish of varied sizes. Not my favorite but fellow customers seemed to love them. I tried 3-4 flavors and selected the lemon meringue special. Yum. Their ice cream is smooth and creamy but left a waxy mouthfeel which worries me of artificial flavors and sweeteners or preservatives. This was our first stop in Kentucky because I've been dying to go to a Graeter's with a bakery. My hubby got a glazed donut and I got a Danish donut and cinnamon square danish. He loved the glazed donut. I had a bite and agreed with him. It wasn't greasy or too sugary like a lot of places make them. OMG did I love the Danish donut. It was light and flaky with the perfect amount of sweet with a hint of salt. So good! We shared the cinnamon square Danish and neither of us liked it. It was incredibly dry and flaky, so we ended up tossing it out. I think the gal helping us might've grabbed it from the wrong case. The service was great, consistent with all the other Graeter's I've been to. Would've given them 5 stars if it wasn't for the dry cinnamon square danish. read more

All natural ice cream from a family-owned business. It is always super fresh, unlike some store ice cream that can sit in a freezer for months before you buy it. Elena's Blueberry Pie is a special ice cream flavor that was created in honor of five year old Elena Desserich, who lost her life just a few months after she was diagnosed with brain cancer. The flavor was going to be a temporary fundraiser to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer but the flavor sold out in two weeks. Graeters decided to make it a permanent flavor which is sold at retail stores, select grocery stores, and online, with a portion of the funds still going toward the fund. They also sell the Desseriches book "Notes Left Behind" which is a collection of notes and drawings that Elena made and tucked between dishes in the china cabinet, in books on bookshelves, in briefcases and backpacks. We haven't been by our local Graeter's since our sons bday where our negative experience is in our first review. WE asked to give them our phone number to see if we had any rewards as we had purchased that birthday cake and had cones prior to that... WE we told that our number WAS not in their system? WHAT? It has been for years... so annoying. We were also told they switched to a new system and you have to have an APP and something else... all this for rewarding us for being loyal (not to mention older patrons or lower income may not have phones or phones with storage space to get rewarded for being loyal). Weird way to discriminate...Cold stone or fort Thomas ice cream is a heck of a lot easier. As annoyed as I am and As unlikely as I am to come back to a store that actively deters my loyalty but I cannot deny their ice cream and their baked goods are amazing! My husband and I wanted to split a sundae after the kid went to sleep and everything was packaged beautifully and I am looking forward to it. They even added the extra cherries requested. Our daughter has an active schedule tomorrow so I let her pick a donut for breakfast and she snuck a bit this evening and she said it was awesome and wished she could have it all now... but alas, she will enjoy for breakfast.. :). I never knew this Graeter's was even here until a few months ago! It is away from the chaos of the Pavilion Parkway Plaza but very conveniently right off the highway. This location seems a little unique--hosting cool events like dog adoptions and there is a drive-thru! Always been friendly service and top quality ice cream, they usually have a TON of samples. Use the drive through or go inside and enjoy all the wonderful smells. In the midst of a pandemic, I witnessed from the drive through window a worker wipe her nose with her gloved hand, eat samples from the ice cream and keep the taster spoon in her mouth and prepare my ice cream in the span of 20 seconds all with her mask down. This is after sitting in the drive thru (no exaggeration) for 30 minutes from 9:20-9:50 with only 3 cars ahead of us. The entire staff (looked like 5 or 6) was either preparing for closing or snacking and the drive thru was a complete after thought as no one seemed to be manning it at all. I have been to this Graeter's before and had good service, but hygiene can not be taken for granted right now on such a scale as I saw. If I had never been here before I would have given it one star. At this point I am going to struggle to allow myself to go back for a long while. If and when I return one evening in the future and things go much better I will happily edit and update this review. Thank you to the one person who took our order, rang us out and then remade our ice cream herself when we requested (I want to say her name was Helen?) as no one did anything helpful to assist her. I hope I was not too rude as I do not want to make someone's life more difficult, but I haven't had service this maddeningly bad in years and just wanted to get out of there, wishing we had never even bothered and having been stuck in the drive thru for a long while. I have had good experiences here before. The morning staff whenever I have come to get donuts and coffee is wonderful and gets us through the drive thru within 1-2 minutes and is very professional. Love this ice cream chain, some of the best ice cream ever! My family and I stopped in and was happy with our visit! The guy that helped us was friendly, but my only concern was that either he had allergies or a cold? Not sure which but I'm not one that likes seeing someone working around food with the sniffles and rubbing his nose as they don't wear gloves here. Best Feature: DELICIOUS ICE CREAM! Worst Feature: The service was a bit of a disappointment. I love Graeter's ice cream. I'm a Cincinnatian through and through, and I can definitely vouch for the quality of Graeter's ice cream. Whether in pints at a local Kroger or in a Graeter's shop, I love the selection of ice cream they offer. This particular location is dear to my heart, as the few times I've been at this location, I've had a great time hanging out with friends and enjoying the ice cream. I've been to many Graeter's around the tri-state area, and this one is nice and roomy. Each shop I've been to is on the smaller side, but this one has a nice set up so that it is not difficult for customers to get around. It's inviting, and I enjoy the local drawings from schoolchildren promoting Graeter's. It's clear they support the community. The ice cream selections are typical of a Graeter's menu - 1 dip cones, 2 dip cones, specialty sundaes, smoothies, and a variety of other ice cream dishes or drinks that will definitely satisfy the sweet tooth. I'm a HUGE fan of mocha chip, peanut butter chip, black raspberry chip and coconut chip (note a trend). I wasn't as big a fan of the butter pecan; it was a bit TOO sweet for me. However, even the flavors I'm less enthused about are absolutely delicious. The one drawback I've noticed here is the staff - they are none too friendly. I was surprised, as I've been to several Graeter's with fantastic staff who are chipper and make ordering a pleasant experience. The staff tends to be younger, so sometimes I get the occasional 'tude and "I-hate-my-job" vibe, but overall I've never really been disappointed. I visited this location recently and found that I almost felt like I was intruding or imposing on the staff. There were only 2-3 people working durng the evening hours. The cashier was downright unpleasant to talk to, while the other employee behind the counter was at least smiling here and there. I do give credit to the other employee who, after I waved goodbye and wished them a good night, was sure to return with a smile and friendly "You too!" The staff was great about letting us stay until close, however. So even though they may not be the happiest crew, they were great about not giving us any issues with staying until their closing time. We never once got a warning about needing to leave. To be respectful, we left a few minutes before closing time, and they didn't even have a problem with us lingering outside the building even after they closed up shop and departed. So we robbed them of all their ice cream. (Okay, we didn't, but it would've been a delicious robbery.) I will definitely return, as this is a nice Graeter's tucked away in Northern Kentucky. They have a great selection and despite the recent issue with the attitude of the staff, I did enjoy my time and have had a wonderful time in the past without any attitude issues. Graeter's Confectionary offers some good product. If I were judging it product alone, I'd give it 5 stars. The Ice cream is awesome, and most everything else I've tried is stellar. I have a few small gripes. None of said gripes generally have anything to do with the ice cream side of the operation, which is where most the attention and effort is obviously focused. First, I have found the staff (typically young) which packages the confectionary product upon request is not very knowledgeable about the product or where it came from - given I don't buy confectionary items frequently, I generally have a few questions about ingredients and it would be nice to know that a dialogue is possible if I want one. I know they are in a hurry to get back to serving ice cream customers, but they shouldnt bother with having the confectionary product if they can't focus on it. As mentioned, the quality of the product is great - I've bought several coffee cakes when I've had company at my house and people can't keep their hands off them when they start eating them (usually a good sign). They also seem reasonably priced for a somewhat fresh coffee cake. Finally, the only other gripe with Graeter's Confectionary is lack of consistent availability of baked items - you never know if you can go in and count on a specific product being in the case, so it is a bit unsettling if you are trying plan like I do. For example, my dad say "are you going to have one of those awesome cinnamon crumb cake things when I come to visit" and I can't give him any confidence that I will. read more

If you're traveling, stop at a Graeter's because it's a Cincinnati favorite. I think the quality of the ice cream is high, the bakery items are pretty good and the candies are rich. At this location, the staff has always been extremely friendly and accommodating. They are generous with samples and I love trying new flavors! I think the menu items are a little pricey, but they're great for the occasional treat. Our family usually goes when they're running some kind of promotion. to be honest, our dipped ice cream is not my go-to desert, but this place has two of my all-time favorite flavors in the category. My favorite ice cream flavors, which I highly recommend, are black raspberry chip and elainas blueberry pie. Unfortunately, they made the latter a seasonal flavor, so you can't get it all the time. Tonight I had the privilege of trying one of the newer products, the gelato. I chose the black raspberry flavor. It was absolutely delicious. It was everything I like about black raspberry chip without the chips. I actually prefer an ice cream not too heavy on the chocolate. The chocolate chips and other products are scrumptious, but tend to be huge. I find myself wishing for a little less candy and a little more ice cream. I think Graeter's has some of the best Ice Cream in America. Each location always seems clean and friendly. I went to Graeter's today for a treat. I had a coupon on the back of an Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati ticket for buy one get one free sugar cone. I was with my dad & we both ordered 2 scoops & I had chocolate jimmies on my peanut butter chocolate chip & raspberry chocolate chocolate order. The problem is we were overcharged. We were charged for 5 scoops of ice cream and then the amount of $3.50 was taken off of the bill. All we received was 4 scoops. It is not often that I see a Graeter's coupon so it should be dealt with correctly. The bill should have been for 2 sugar cones (minus the cones) and 2 extra scoops plus chocolate jimmies $0.75) minus $3.50. I pointed this out the manager but it changed nothing. Because of this my experience at Graeter's was made unenjoyable. As of May this year I heard from the​ Graeter's corporate office. They sent me several coupons for a free sugar cone. I have not heard directly from the Ft. Thomas store location. read more

I'm only giving this 3 stars because of this specific location. I love Graeter's and their ice cream, but this location is one of the worst. I live nearby so I do frequent this one, but it's not good. I probably have an issue 1/3 times. My biggest issue is the whipped cream. I LOVE the whipped cream and sometimes I will order a scoop on my ice cream or order something like a sundae because it has the whipped cream in it. More often than not I get store bought canned whipped cream. It is so frustrating to me because I would never pay the extra money for store bought whipped cream. Sometimes I'll ask them for their whipped cream and they will give it to me, but other times I just let it go. I know sometimes they run out and that's ok... just let me know. Other times it is laziness because the workers don't want to go in the back and get it. They also often serve items that are supposed to be in a boat crammed into a single cup and you can't enjoy it.
