I've been here before. In the past the food and service have always been good. We went August. This time was on a Saturday around dinner rush. Typically we get a later dinner to avoid the crowd. However, we were supposed to go on the Hakuna Matata boat cruise and it was canceled due to engine malfunctions. Since we were already there, we decided to grab dinner. There was a line up the steps because they were extremely busy. Luckily we spotted two seats at the patio bar. As soon as we sat down, we noticed that the bartender was doing shots. Like right in front of us. So needless to say she didn't give great service. It took her forever to get us wine and club soda. We had to ask for menus more than once. We overheard a manager come out and tell her not to put in any orders for the next 10 minutes. It kind of felt like they didn't want us to eat there, but we were starving. Upon receiving menus, my partner informed her that he is a gluten-free diner. She seemed to understand and pointed out that there were gluten-free things marked on the menu. We ordered the char-grilled oysters and grilled pear salad to share. He ordered jambalaya. *All these were marked gluten-free* I ordered the chicken pontchartrain, not gluten free. It took an hour for our grilled pear salad to come out. We began eating it and it was delicious. The highlight of his meal as it turns out. Then comes the char grilled oysters....with a massive piece of French bread right on top. They offered to "remake it" but with how busy they were, it was obvious they were just gonna take the bread off and bring it back. Honestly it's just not worth the risk. Next came the jambalaya and chicken pontchartrain. Unfortunately, the jambalaya also had two cornbread muffins stuffed down into it. We had to send that back as well. I enjoyed my meal and he had what was left of the salad. It's really disappointing when you wait an entire hour for food that is marked as gluten-free and then it is clearly not gluten-free upon arrival. The server didn't really seem concerned. We were recently back at Grafton Harbor in September for the luau cruise and made sure to eat in advance elsewhere. I hate to give a bad review on a place I normally like but after eating at the oyster bar tonight I am just hoping I don't get sick. My go to dish is the catfish platter . This time the fish was all mushy. No flake to the fish it was like cream of wheat encased in batter. I told the waitress and she said she would ask somebody and came back and told us they moisturized the fish??? when I got home I called my daughter in law who is a chef and she said they probably did not use fresh fish and put a piece of frozen fish directly in the fryer. I hope that's right and I don't spend the rest of my evening in the bathroom. My husband had catfish also, but he got the sandwich which had lettuce, tomatoes, pickle and mayo so he said he couldn't really tell if his fish was as bad. This is the best place to stop for food in Grafton - especially if you're into seafood. The menu can be a bit overwhelming because there are a lot of options and the price tag on your meal adds up quick if your table gets a couple of apps. I personally really like the crab dip and grilled Mahi Mahi tacos. The voodoo sauce is yummy and the red beans and rice on the side is a nice touch of something different! The Shrimp Voodoo Po Boy is amazing! Very lightly breaded shrimp, solid sauce to bread ratio, served with Cajun fries. The alligator bites were too heavily battered and hotly (is that a word?) fried to have a distinct flavor. Service was prompt and attentive. I also discovered a new-to-me artist, Jamie Hayes! His art is everywhere here. Think ink drawings that evoke the spirit of New Orleans. The bar is a popular spot on a Summer Sunday; if you want waterfront dining there may be a little wait. Holy Toledo, what a gem! I don't go to bars/restaurants because I do not like the decor. I was FORCED to go there ! so I just knew that I would not like anything. My Husband ordered: Lobster, shrimp, seafood cheesecake??? The waitress said to order it, it may not sound to good, but you will like it. SPECTACULAR!! I ordered: Crawfish Mona There must have been a whole pound of crawfish swimming in a delectable sauce! WONDERFUL!! I told the waitress that I would marry the chef if he can cook that well. Getting a seat for 10 people was tough on a nice Saturday lunch. We were told 45 minutes and after checking back at an hour realized they seated so many tables after us. I wish they would have asked if we wanted to split up to get us seated earlier. Poor planning on their part. One of our servers were nice and served us really well. The other server missed a dish and got the checks wrong. There were certain dishes that were great and some that weren't. I've eaten here multiple times. It's unfortunate to report that this is the absolute worst today. We ordered drinks and 30 minutes later had to remind our waitress (2x water, 2x mixed) that we had not received our drinks, she indicated that they were made at the bar and she brought them to us watered-down. Had been wanting to go to the Broadway oyster bar but during the cardinal season we try to avoid it because the location is right by the stadium. A family member recommended the grafting Oyster bar and the menu was much the same so we went here. It is very loud so be prepared for that. It is also on the top level and the elevator was strange and we couldn't make it work so up the stairs we went. We were seated right away and the staff was friendly and efficient. We started with Peel and Eat Shrimp and like the broadway location they were delicious. I love the cocktail sauce here it packs just the right amount of heat. My mother got Jambalaya which was pretty much the only thing we did not like. It says there is chicken and shrimp in it but to us it just seemed like rice with sausage and ham. The flavor wasn't that great either. I started with lemonade which was delicious. I had the seafood ravioli which was absolutely awesome . My brother got the boo doo shrimp po boy and he said it was spicy but good. Just a little too much bread. The kids had shrimp.... One had peel and eat and the other had fried and they both liked their food. For dessert we got the delicious bread pudding, something we always get at the broadway location. It was just as delicious too :) Overall this restaurant was as good as the broadway location but not quite as crowded. If you're not a fan of crowds but like the oyster bar I recommend trying out the Grafton Oyster bar. read more

First trip to Grafton and it was great! The restaurant is on the water with a cute gift shop on the downstairs level. It's very casual and has a seafood centered menu with American food too, we sat outside on the deck and the view was beautiful. Our server, Lindsey, was so friendly and great at her job. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon so we found space at the bar while waiting for our table. We engaged with the bartender and a few of the bar patrons and ended up giving up our table reservation because we were having so much fun! The drinks were mixed just right and service was good too. Service on the day we visited was sooo slow. Poor waitress was trying to handle way more than one person can possibly handle so shame on management. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon when most people are just getting their weekend trips started so easy to anticipate a crowd. The ambiance is amazing on the outdoor deck which overlooks the Mississippi River. The food was truly mediocre. With such an awesome location why not have incredible food too? We've been here a few times so far and they've all been good. The outside seating area and view is fabulous! Day or night it's a great view. Their menu is versatile and all the food I've had here has been good. Our friend got a seafood boil and let me try it and that is my favorite thing I've tried there yet - and a good amount of food for the price! Over the summer we came and saw a live band and they were awesome. They rocked the deck all night and the service was good through the whole evening as well. Grafton Oyster Bar sits right on the water and it's our restaurant of choice every time we have a day trip to Grafton! We started our meal with a dozen raw oysters. They were small, but good! For the main course, we had the shrimp po'boy with spicy voodoo sauce. The shrimp were fried and the voodoo sauce added a fantastic kick that elevated the whole sandwich. We even asked for voodoo sauce on the side for our fries! We also had the Char-Grilled Oysters which were grilled with butter and parmesan - so good! The restaurant has a relaxed feel, so it was the perfect spot for a casual lunch. The menu here isn't as big as the Broadway Oyster Bar in Downtown STL, but still enough choices to satisfy.
