We have worked with Ray Graham for many years and I don't know why I didn't previously post a review. I should have. Our whole neighborhood has even worked together to identify multiple trees at different people's houses and hired Graham's Tree Service to do them all at once for a discounted rate. Ray is super experienced, licensed, bonded, and insured. He has had the same crew for years and those guys really know what they're doing and clean up well after too. Today's events, however, are what caused me to finally give this long overdue review. At about 9 am today, another wet and windy day, a neighbor's giant old tree came crashing down (and uphill at an angle!). It crushed part of the the house next to ours and then landed on our house creating all kinds of damage. Ray and his guys and even their crane were on site in about an hour! That was before even PG&E got here to address the downed live power line! Once PG&E said it was OK, they had the tree sawed down and craned off our house and patched the holes in our roof. Then they quick moved to our neighbor's house. Ray even offered to deal directly with our respective insurance companies to be paid directly from them. Truly hassle free and I huge relief to our collective shock and stress. What a great guy and company! Update: Ray then stayed after the whole crew left to personally staple a tarp to prevent any further damage overnight. Above and beyond!

Highly recommend!! The crew of 3 guys got the job done in a couple of hours. Courteous, respectful of property, and they left my yard cleaner than when they arrived!!

Six guys came out and helped trim back my Redwood trees, a huge Eugenia tree, 3 different Privets, a Loquat, a big Oak, and did a great job cleaning up my yard! I pointed out some areas that I wanted done a bit more, and they were very accommodating. I also noticed that a plank on my deck was damaged (likely from a branch that fell hard), and they magically found a replacement plank on their truck to repair it. Glad this was done before the hardy wind storm and heavy rains!

Don't count on this company to show up, especially when they schedule the appointment.

Based on that job, we had Jose come back to price planting of sago palms and trimming trees/bushes/hedges. His price sounded good so we scheduled a one-day job for the work. On the scheduled Tuesday, a crew of three arrived (but not Jose to lead the work). We had to explain to the lead what we wanted done (same as we had explained to Jose before). The lead did not appear to understand us completely. The lead even FaceTimed with Jose for clarification. Apparently, that didn't make it any clearer for the lead...as evidenced by the crew's work. During the first three hours, the crew only managed to plant the sago palms...half of them planted too deep in depressions. They ran out of soil. The lead found a bag on my property and asked if they could use it. After I told him no, he used it anyway and said he misunderstood me. One guy also had to leave to buy more soil for the sagos. After I complained to Jose, the crew provided a replacement bag of soil. The crew trimmed the palm trees and hedges ok. They, however, botched the rest of their work. They butchered the bushes, fruit trees and other trees. They only completed about have the work and didn't cleanup at the end of their day...saying they'd be back on Friday. We feel it is unacceptable for them to have left the job site in such a state...even if they planned to return. The crew also broke a yard lantern. Not sure if we can get a replacement. We cancelled their Friday return and only paid them for the work completed. We are not satisfied with either the partial job done or the price charged for that partial job. It's crap. Vega Tree Service clearly had a more important job elsewhere and sent an inexperienced/subpar lead and crew to do our job. Poor customer service. We will not be using Vega's Tree Service again. We also cannot recommend them to other customers.

Unfortunately, after multiple chances, I feel completely disrespected by my experience with Cal Line Tree Service. We had a stump in front of our house, so I contacted Cal Line and Alejandro sent me an estimate right away. The price was great and the reviews looked good, so I decided to move forward. Before agreeing to the job, I specifically asked whether the work would damage our sidewalks because we had just paid to have them redone. I was told not to worry because they wouldn't damage them. From the beginning, the communication was frustrating. They gave me a time to show up and didn't. Eventually, a worker arrived and began grinding the stump with a large machine. While my girlfriend was home, she repeatedly heard rocks and debris hitting the windows. I immediately contacted Alejandro, but he assured me not to worry and said the job was done. When I got home, I was shocked by the condition of the property. There was roughly a foot of mulch covering the entire area, far beyond where the stump had been. I started cleaning it up myself and filled a green waste bin, with plenty more still left to remove. That's when I discovered the damage. The newly redone sidewalk had chunks missing from it. The EBMUD box and its brand-new lid had also been completely destroyed. I was extremely concerned because, as far as I could tell, there had been no proper utility-location process before the work was done. Had a utility line been hit, the consequences could have been far more serious. I contacted Alejandro and told him this was unacceptable. He said he would send someone out to clean everything up. Once again, they didn't show when they said they would. When someone finally came out and started removing the waste, we discovered that the stump hadn't even been removed below sidewalk level. I had specifically been told it would be taken approximately two feet down so we could eventually plant another tree. Alejandro acknowledged my disappointment and said he would come back and make it right. The same worker eventually returned--again, not at the time promised. Unfortunately even more damage was done to the sidewalk. This time, debris and waste were also spread throughout my lawn, burying plants in the process.Once again, I came home and had to clean up their mess myself. At this point, Alejandro has repeatedly told me he wants to make things right, but despite multiple opportunities, he has not followed through. No meaningful repair, no call, and no appearance. Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how you handle them afterward. I gave this company several opportunities to correct the problems, and instead I've been left with property damage, additional cleanup, damaged landscaping, and a job that wasn't completed as promised.

Isai responded within the hour with an offer to drop by for a free consultation and his contact information. We were able to schedule something for the next day which had to get pushed back another day, but throughout it all, Isai was very communicative and punctual. I received a number of quotes within three days from my Yelp request and Isai was the most reasonable by far. We were able to book a day and time that worked for us the week after. Before our appointment, Isai reached out with at least six different photos of options for ground cover and I appreciated being included in this process even though I don't have extensive knowledge of landscaping or gardening at all. The day of, Isai and his team came in the morning and within just a few hours, completely transformed our front and back yard. They worked quickly and methodically to uproot all of the weeds from the front rock garden and in between the concrete; shaped various shrubbery and trees; weed all of the planters in the back yard, lay down landscaping fabric, and also the mulch; and, sweep up various leaves and fallen fruit. Payment was easy through Zelle and as he left, he notified us that the yard waste would be a little heavy because the weeds were wet. He also asked if we had pets (we don't). He indicated that weeding the front yard was difficult and that a little Round Up at the first inkling of weeds would go a long way in keeping them at bay. We are truly impressed by Isai and his team and very thankful. I would not hesitate to recommend them and to request their services again.

LICENSED AND AFFORDABLE…read more This past summer my sister was helping our parents of finding a tree arborist to trim tree branches from our neighbor's yard that were hovering over parents' backyard in Fremont. My parents felt the quote provided from the tree arborist was expensive. My sister asked me to find other trees arborists on Yelp. I asked J.T.S. Tree Expert for a quote. When I made the request on Yelp I also checked the box to send the request to other vendors. I met most of the vendors that responded through Yelp at my parents' place. In August I scheduled as many tree arborists as possible I could for a free estimate. I learned a lot from them regarding what needed to be done. Seeing multiple tree arborists provided me insights on what issues to ask. After the appointments each tree arborist provided me with a quote. One was really expensive even though he was licensed. There were a couple of tree arborists that weren't licensed that provided more reasonable quote. One thing I observed from my encounters with the tree arborists is they would tell you about the estimated quote for the trimming however when I received the quote there was another charge for the cleaning. When I met Jose and Veronica from J.T.S Tree Expert I showed them the backyard on my parents' home. J.T.S was the second to the last tree arborist I scheduled for an estimated quote. Jose told me that time frame for trimming the trees would be six hours. At the end I decide to go with J.T.S as they were not only licensed but also the cheapest as the quote included the tree trimming and the cleaning. I wasn't there on the day of Friday October 10 when J.T.S workers came to my parents' house for the trimming. However my parents were. They said the processed took about five hours. I went to the backyard on Monday October 13 to see the outcome. I was more than happy with the result of the branches that were trimmed. I can see the fence of my parents' backyard. If you need a tree arborist that is licensed and affordable I recommend J.T.S. Tree Expert, Inc.
