This place has so much potential, but due to lack of service and lack of properly labeled pricing, I regret almost every time I shop there. Today, much of the store and refrigerators did not have pricing on the bottles or listed on the shelving. This deters me from buying more... Lack of Service: Today there were four or five people working. The bearded guy was behind the register and pleasant. There was another guy packing boxes and pleasant. The sales lady was in the parking lot arguing with a delivery lady, who was in tears and screaming in her car, obviously very distraught. The sales lady left the delivery lady and came back into the store making a commotion about how the other guys needed to support her with the decision for any tips over $50 should be split among everyone working in the store that day. She then went with two other employees to the back of the store to carry on about it. The store was busy. The guy packing boxes had to stop to assist the bearded guy. This is not unusual for several to gather abandoning customers and going into the back. If I were the owner, I would train these people on the importance of customer service, as well as treating employees well. I would also properly label all bottles or at least list it below the bottles on the shelving. I would also allow delivery people to keep the tips that they individually earned, knowing that delivery people are using their own car, gas and insurance. As well, I don't support pooling tips as it supports complacency of those not working so hard... I also don't understand how the different delivery services that they use have different pricing not only from the store, but also from each website. read more

Very good vibes at this place. A great wine shop steps away from the Broadway G and Lorimer M/J/Z station. Very friendly and knowledgable staff and an excellent selection of wines and spirits, especially their whiskey selection (lots of local products). Prices are very reasonable for this area, and they offer a wine loyalty program. Will be back. read more

This store owner/manager is a RACIST! Do not support this business. I ordered via Minibar through this vendor and somehow there was a lie concocted that someone spit in the face of the delivery person and threatened them. Completely untrue. The delivery person called me when they were outside I told them to let me know when they're in front and I will buzz them upstairs. Only notice I received was an email that my order was cancelled. When I called to inquire the manager was threatening and would not listen. Literally a shit show. As a result I cancelled my account with Minibar and will never purchase at this establishment again. read more

Grain & Vine is my go-to neighborhood wine and liquor store! The team members working in the store are always super helpful and welcoming every time I come in. They frequently have wine tastings in their shops which is a great way to try different types of wine each week. Prices are also reasonable here and you're guaranteed to always purchase good quality bottles here. Another bonus perk is their loyalty program which you can accumulate points and redeem for rewards later on. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone! read more

This is THE best wine and spirits shop in Williamsburg. Outstanding natural/biodynamic wine selection and sneaky great whiskey collection! It's a small shop and they rotate their wines frequently, so there's always something new and exciting to try. Their knowledgable staff are always attentive and helpful. I've lived in nyc/brooklyn for 6 years, and this is my first time actually taking a moment to write a review about anything in New York. That's how annoyed I am. I'm not one to normally waste time dissing on a place. But this place was a bummer, both times I've been. Both times, no one acknowledged me at all, or helped me pick something out, or even simply asked if I had any questions. And both times, when I'd take my own selections to the counter, everyone working there was so busy chatting, that they barely even acknowledged me when I payed and left. I don't need to be doted on, but my god, at least make an effort to take care of your neighborhood customers. I'll be walking out of my way, to a better shop for wine from now on. To top it off, the wine was mediocre at best. I'm a lover and a loyal to good neighborhood places, so I was sad that this one disappointed each time. read more

Grain and Vine sux hard. This place is run by yahoos. It took 3 1/2 hours for my Drizly order to arrive. I notified them as soon as the app said it was delivered but wasn't, and the driver was never reached out to. I was told they just got busy and sometimes the driver hits the delivered button before he delivers. After 1 1/2 hours I called. After 2 hours I called. After that I called to say I was leaving and would they be arriving before I go? Then finally the driver was contacted and he said the driver delivered and he's their best driver! I responded with I'm here, I notified you, no phone call was made, no doorbell was rung, no door was knocked on. Did they check ID?! No. I was basically dismissed as a liar. Finally, he called back and said oh yes, the driver gave it to someone else. I'm at 3 1/2 hours...and still waiting. I asked do I get a discount? Do I get a comp? Nope. He can't do anything about that. Don't let this happen to you or your friends. Avoid Grain and Vine. UPDATE: Delivery never delivered. Last phone call "manager" assured me it was coming. read more

Been going to Grain & Vine for three years now. The friendly and helpful staff always aids in finding the right spirit for the occasion. They have an interesting and evolving selection of rare and hard-to-find items that I'm always excited to discover. Sometimes it can be a bit pricey, but I have never left disappointed. I'm happy to pay a little more for a place I trust and a special selection not everyone has. The rewards program also helps make up some of the extra cost. read more

I lived near Grain & Vine for a little over two years and was a loyal customer the whole time. They have a great selection and all of the employees are super nice. I moved across the country a few months ago and cannot for the life of me find a wine store with as great of an atmosphere as Grain & Vine. Everywhere is either expensive & pretentious, or has a poor selection. Grain & Vine really hits that nexus of being a welcoming store, with reasonable prices and knowledgable staff. No idea what the negative reviews on here are talking about. I visited a few weeks ago, and all three employees working at the time were very helpful. In fact, they took the time to explain a bit about each of the three wines they had out for samples and took me around the store to look for the perfect liquor for my tastes. They have an amazing selection -- try the pear cider and the moonshine (yes, moonshine!) -- and a wonderful staff. I'll definitely visit again soon. read more
