The shishito peppers were so sweet and tangy in the bacon jelly and cheese and oozed with goodness! The steak and chicken were such a great combo to share between my husband and I with both being such different profiles of taste and actually complimented one another. The steak itself was absolutely perfect and the bread under soaked up all those juices so you didn't have to lick the plate after (great ingenuity when dining out :)) The desserts were fantastic but the star of the show was def the raspberry blondie. It was everything I imagined and more. The perfect sweet and tart mixed in a bowl with spoons ... thank you for not plating this - I felt like I was at home about to sit on the couch and indulge in something I created. Perfect experience, perfect presentation and to top it off their restaurant is surrounded by their farm. Tomatoes, jalapeños, peaches, peppers, micro greens, greens, herbs..... with everything going on today in this world and every thing being recalled this is a place I can stand behind doing it the right way! The baked goat cheese was excellent! As was the old fashioned. This place just has great whiskey. Their summer wind cocktail is good too. The ambiance is fabulous. This place puts a lot of thought into their menu, ingredients, etc.

After nearly 30 years of living in Forest Park, I have never had a problem with a local business…read moreand especially not Shauers Hardware until September 1. I stopped in shortly after opening and purchased two 9/16" rubber washers for approximately $1. Since I didn't have cash, I used my debit card. The cashier informed me there was a $3 minimum purchase requirement. When I said I did not need anything else, a man I assume was the owner told the cashier to simply add $2 as "labor" to reach the minimum. I found it strange that I was charged an additional $2 for no product or service. Although it was only $2, it was still money taken from my pocket for nothing. After leaving, I recalled that businesses are generally prohibited from imposing minimum purchase requirements on debit card transactions. I called the store to discuss the issue, but the person who answered, whom I believe was the same individual, abruptly hung up. I then returned to the store, where he was waiting near the entrance. When I showed him information regarding the law as it relates to debit card minimums, specifically 15 U.S.C. § 1693o-2 (Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act) he responded, "I was the one who hung up on you. I don't care. Have a nice day. Go tell your President." Regardless of the amount involved, what disappointed me most was the attitude and lack of professionalism displayed by the owner. I have always tried to support local businesses, but after this experience, I will not be returning. The $2 isn't the issue. The issue is an owner who apparently believes the rules don't apply to him and treats customers with contempt when they're brought to his attention. I hope the appropriate agencies and card networks share his confidence.

This was by far the worst Ace Hardware experience I have ever had. I went in to purchase 6 screws…read moreto complete an installation of something I had purchased. I asked for help from the helpful hardware man. I believe I was helped by the store manager, who was asking me questions like he was the customer and I was the employee. Why do you need 6 screws when it came with 12. Do you need 3/4 ? I don't know what is 35mm? Eventually, we both decided what screw that I needed, and I proceeded to make my way to check out. I saw that there was a sponge for 3.99 note in corner that this sponge has been priced 3.99 since 2/22. Not a bad price so I go to buy the sponge and screws. The lady checks me out and sponge rings up 4.59 And I immediately say wait the sponge is like 389 or 399. It's definitely under four dollars. She replies it rang up 4.59 so that's what it is. I said well if you would go look your price is marked differently. She said I can just tell you that this is what it rang up and this is how much it cost. I did buy it because I needed the sponge, but I went back and took a picture and showed the manager the same manager that helped me with the screws who is not far from the cash register and they both left about the fact that I went and showed them that it was 399 and she charged me 4.59. And said oh well Scott needs to fix the prices looks like Scott missed this one oh well. I don't know why they think that they're entitled to 50 extra cents. I just think it's shameful and there's plenty of Ace Hardware's. That have way better attitudes. If you're looking for a helpful hardware person do not go to this Ace Hardware

I drive over most weekends to just pick up a bag or two of gardening soil or some pavers or bags of grass seed...but, I somehow end up spending $150 on fan gardening materials, seedlings, soil, seeds, and so much paint! I've painted my whole house, including the basement and outdoor area, too! When I'm having a tough day, a visit to the Menards on North Avenue is so comforting. Especially if it's one of their "11% back mail in rebate" days or if I have rebate cash to spend!! Love the staff here, too.

I absolutely hate coming to this Home Depot. I try to avoid it at all costs. The worst problem is…read morethat they have almost no lumber carts. I will walk in to a store with no carts then I will have to walk back out, Search the parking lot, or follow another customer out to get their cart. Part of the problem is that their staff uses the few lumber carts they have for storage. The second big complaint I have with them is whenever you try to talk to customer service about any issue you're having you get a runaround. You will be placed on hold, transferred three or four times and be 20 minutes before they tell you there's nobody to talk to. I hate the store with a passion. I generally drive way out of my way to go to any other Home Depot. One star because it won't let me give zero. The only bright spots in the store are Tanisha and Rosie in the pro department. The manager of the store needs to go visit Oakbrook Terrace or Downers Grove. I never have trouble getting carts at either of those two stores. I know I'm not the only one who has this issue at the Northlake Home Depot. I'm more than one occasion, I followed somebody out to the parking lot to get their cart, came and loaded the cart with my own purchases, and when I went to another aisle to get some blades or something, I come back to find somebody has offloaded my cart onto the floor and taken it for themselves because they can't find a cart either. ORDER SOME DAMN CARTS! Update. I really appreciate the effort that was made to get some carts. When I came in today, there were plenty of carts. Quite a few new ones even. Thank you for listening.
