I don't like this restaurant not the service or the food. The drinks are huge but they lack alcohol which is crazy because they are like $15.00 each and they all taste the same nasty. If you are looking for a good Mexican restaurant keep looking this ain't it. They do not even know how to handle a busy crowd. I ordered a shrimp fajita i'll add the pic of the sizzler platter. I stopped in Gran Rodeo because I was visiting someone in a rehab facility, close by, and there wasn't much to choose from in the area as far as eat in restaurants. The server was very nice and attentive but I didn't even take a bite of my food because it was so dissatisfactory. I ordered the steak burrito. When it came, it was cut in half. When I separated the halves, I quickly noticed that the burrito was comprised of about 2% steak and 88% rice. I wish I had taken a picture. This was a $16 burrito and the lack of meat was just plain disrespectful. The pieces of steak, that were in the burrito, were 1/4" balls of meat. No exaggeration. The nice server let the owner, who is also the cook, know. He didn't have much to say about it. I told him that after seeing what he tried to pass as a $16 burrito, I wasn't willing to give it another shot. I really hope they start serving better quality of food. Had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday tonight. The staff went above and beyond to make his day special. We had a balloon, candle lit table and when they came out with his birthday cake a birthday song was played, staff congratulated him! Well, let's start out with the 3 sauces..salsa was good but really, really cold. It hurt my teeth, it was so cold. But good, and spicy! The green salsa was not as cold but twice as spicy. I am a big fan of spicy; hot sauce has its own food group in my life. This was some of the hottest stuff I have eaten, but still flavorful. The third "salsa" was a bean dip. I wasn't a fan but my boyfriend liked it. For entrees I got the salmon special and the BF got the seafood enchiladas. Let me just say, the presentation was like art! Such a pretty plate...the avocado was spread out all cute like. The salmon was fried which was a little weird and not at all in line with my kind of healthy diet, but it was good nevertheless. The sauce on the salmon was a sour cream based sauce with big chunks of tomatoes and tomatillos. I ate ALL of the sauce. The rice was white, and buttery. It was good, although I only had one bite. The BF's enchiladas were good too, very spicy. Final verdict: The food was very good, the people were super nice, I don't think it will be one of my favorites, but I will visit again..WAIT! I was on my way to another mexican restaurant and found it closed on a monday so a few blocks was El Rodeo nice bar, quiet place but the chips and salsa rocked!! wonderful ceviche and other authentic dishes. I think it's a hidden gem in New Rochelle. Their food is authentic and they can make it spicy or not to your taste. This place used to be great but now it's totally went down hill, I saw something you should never witness in any establisment about a month ago I was there for a family party the waitress did an amazing job but the female manager stole her tips, I was astonished while seeing this me and my husband were so hurt by this because this is their livleyhoods especially during these hard times that manager was horrible for doing that to their worker. Even the little girls were handing out business cards and holding the doors open for customers. Warm, inviting and cozy. A great place to spend a cold night. The pepper steak was terrific, the chicken tamales kick ass, and the rice with little bits of corn made me forget why I eat brown rice only (well, usually). the salsa and bean dip they serve you in the beginning is really good. But wait till you get your main course. This place doesn't have a selection for vegatarians. I ended up getting the fish tacos, which were horrible. They were not on the menu, but the waiter said he'd make them for me. When I got my order, it was just tortilla and grilled fish. Myself, husband, son and baby daughter went in to eat around 1:30pm. It was completely dead but we like small cozy places anyway. There was one older woman there who was the waitress. She didn't understand English and was confusing a lot of what I was asking her. I wouldn't have minded but she had a bad attitude for some reason, not sure why. She acted like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us and acted like we were upsetting her by even being there. She sat down a few tables away from us and played on her cell phone while ignoring us. Our son had to keep going up to her to ask for different items such as water. It was pretty awkward. When we asked if it was happy hour, she said no even though it was happy hour and then proceeded to look at her watch and make a disgusted face while rolling her eyes. Can't make this stuff up. We just wanted a nice lunch with the kiddos and ended up with a pretty irritated waitress who clearly wasn't happy that we came in as paying customers. Before we left she actually took my husbands margarita without him finishing it while we were paying the tab. I love this place. I live in Philadelphia and often go to Boston and to the Berkshires. I always time it so I am passing through when they are open. This is our stop on the way up and on the way home. The food is great and I feel like I am in their living room or dining room. The owners are wonderful people and the extended family great. Ask them to make something for you and it will be great. The guac and grilled cactus in wonderful. It does close around 10:00 so get there earlier. We arrived on the way home at 9:30 and it was near closing in the middle of the week one time, but the rest of the time it has been outstanding. Drinks are great. Ridiculous -- without a doubt very authentic. The tortillas gave me flashbacks to my childhood. I literally wrapped them up for my journey home (700 miles away). My favorite Mexican restaurant!!!! The food is so delicious and unique. I usually go with a group of friends and always get the Cabreria, which is a tray with grilled chicken, beef fajita, and chorizo topped with strips of mexican cheese. Along with the different meats are beans, guacamole, grilled onions, pico de gallo, grilled jalapeños, french fries, and nopales (grilled cactus). The Cabreria is $15 per person and you can get it for one person or even up to 20 people (or more). They also serve handmade tortillas made right in front of you, which just adds to the authenticity of this place. And in the end they give you a complimentary desert which is arroz con leche. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I've brought several friends and family members here and they all fall in love with this place. I highly recommend it!! read more

Awesome!!! Authentic, deliciouse Mexican Food. They gave us 3 different types of salsa and refried beans. FThey were delcious and crispy and warm. Beans counteracted the heats of the Salsa and were creamy and elicous. We ordered nachos, nothing special but good. We ordered Carnitas, which is slow cooked pork that came with tortillas, rice, and beans,. The white rice was outta this world, pork tender, juicey, and incredible. We also ordered Chorizo with cheese quesadillas type things. awesome!! My pork tacod had lime, onions, cilantro, and jalapenos. The Margheritas were huge, sweet at first, second round they adjusted ......perfect. Very accomodating, too. My friend wanted Pinot Girgio, he said he didnt have but can get. Mustve gone to liquor store for it, After dinner, they gave us small, complimentary dishes of rice pudding, then came back with tequils shots for all of us!!!
