This place was good. I ended up here because the original restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. The salsa was really sweet - hence 4 stars. The service was great! And the chicken enchiladas were really yummy!

Had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday tonight. The staff went above and beyond to make his day special. We had a balloon, candle lit table and when they came out with his birthday cake a birthday song was played, staff congratulated him! Food was delicious - enchiladas suizas and steak with rice and beans with salad. Pina Coladas and the Modelo Rodeo were fantastic drinks! Guacamole was very tasty.Reasonably priced food in a intimate authentic Mexican restaurant. I recommend go go go!!

I was on my way to another mexican restaurant and found it closed on a monday so a few blocks was El Rodeo nice bar, quiet place but the chips and salsa rocked!! wonderful ceviche and other authentic dishes. I think it's a hidden gem in New Rochelle. Their food is authentic and they can make it spicy or not to your taste. Very friendly people!!....go here and try some authentic mexican dishes if you are in this area!!.....say hello to Juan for me!!! Oh...don't forget to have a sangria or margarita in my name...Diana

    Guava margarita so delicioua

Drinks are the best! The owner makes them and they are super great! The customer service was superb. The molcajete is huge. Lots of different meats and cheese and veggies. The mole enchilada is yum.

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.
