I have frequented this remarkable establishment for over 15 years for purchasing new tires, tire repair and alignment on our SUVs, vans, sedans and sport cars. Kieran says he knows everything, and up to this date for me, he is always right. Rights in terms of proper tires, fair pricing, getting all work completed the first time and always exceeding my expectations. He is customer oriented and takes care of every person that walks thru his doors. If you track your vehicle Kieran is also an expert in this area providing great advice and encouragement. GTE is not just for sports cars! I haven't gone to GTE in about 5 years, back when I used to take my sports cars there for track alignments. Then the day before a recent road trip, I took my Bronco in for an adjustment, as I felt a jitter in the steering wheel. Extremely disappointed. Came in for an alignment. Simple. This place does the best job in the city with tires. Everyone brings their fancy cars here. Always happy with the job they do. But I will say that sometimes Kieran who runs the place feels free to make comments that aren't appreciated like, "you know you're making the decision that makes the opposite of sense, right?" He can make the situation quite uncomfortable. He's very type A and high energy. And sometimes he will say things without any filter. Also, as I left today, they presented me with a separate bill for $30 for removing a wheel to look at it and to put it back on the car. Not removing the tire. Just unscrewing the wheel and then screwing it back on. The receptionist forced me to speak to Kieran on the phone as he had already left the facility. As she told him the issue, she shared a laugh with him at my expense. As I said, they've done a good job previously. They put four good tires onto my 1973 Mustang Mach 1. But today was extremely unpleasant. Kieran agreed to remove the $30 charge. But I must say that there's plenty of other stores that do the same job in town where I will not be excessively charged, laughed at, and criticized for my choices. The team has decades of experience in mounting, balancing, alignment and suspension & brake work. I get new tires, balancing and alignment done by G.T.E. Standing outside the bays, I can see the way they work, and the caliber of car they work on. Owners of rare, collectable cars obviously trust them, as I do. Although my cars are ordinary, I leave the important stuff to Gran Turismo East. As for value, they suggest tires suitable for my car and driving patterns. Talk about an honest mechanic. I was quoted $125 on the phone for the wheel alignment and left paying $65 because only the front two were needed. Megan (awesome kind helpful front desk person) and Gabe (patient super mechanic) both took the time to explain things to me without rushing or mansplaining. ***Bonus*** as a non binary trans person I wasn't misgendered because they didn't refer to gender at all while interacting. I'm going on 20 years of taking my vehicles to Kieran, Gabe, and the rest of the guys (and girl) at GTE. Alignments are an art, a skill, it's not like unbolting a simple part and replacing it. And these guys are the best in the southeast, by far. They support local racing clubs, their pricing is fair, and you know that your vehicle is in good hands with them. Their prices are probably slightly higher than costco where you buy paper towels, or discount tire who doesn't do alignments, but it's well worth an extra few bucks every couple years to know things are done properly from start to finish. Had an alignment and high speed wheel balance on my 1995 911 Carrera today. Car was vibrating in the front at 59-60 mph and shuddering upon 80-0 braking around 45 mph.....after their expert work the car drives like new, smooth as silk on handling corners at speed, and with hard braking. They explained everything they serviced, gave me a written before and after report, and Kieran showed me that my left front tire in the shop was a bit out of round, that they compensated for in their balancing ...could not be more pleased with results, their engaging customer service, can do attitude and the price was per the estimate....highly recommend them for any suspension work, brakes, tires, alignment and balancing.....you can tell from their interactions that they value their customers and this is why they have consistent stellar reviews over several decades in business.....Shark did a great job on the wheel balancing, Gabe on the alignment and Ana the office administrator was very pleasant to speak with and knowledgeable about the service... read more

Over ten years ago someone recommended them to me for some brake work and I've been blown-away by their service and capabilities every since. Tremendous resource to have available when trying to set up your car. Their alignment guys are very knowledgeable and clearly take their time to get the car setup exactly how you want it. If you have a non-standard setup, and are looking for a great performance alignment look no further. I do have to give them 4 stars though instead of 5 due to what happened afterwards. After driving the car on the highway, I noticed a very bad vibration in the steering wheel. Called them up to see if they would take a look. He did agree to get me on the schedule that day, but the whole conversation felt like he was annoyed with me and didn't want to help me out. Decided to just look at it myself, found out they put my wheel spacers on backwards and they were not flush to the mounting face. Flipped them around and everything was good. Now, I can accept that mistake, as it is not a common part and may not be terribly obvious which direction to install. However when a problem comes up like this, I'd expect a little more courtesy to the customer to make sure everything is kosher. That being said, I'll be giving them another shot. Could have just been an off day, or a misinterpretation on my part. Most importantly, the alignment is spot on. read more

They are not the cheapest gig in town, and the waiting room is no-frills, but all of the local racecar drivers take their cars to these guys, and it is because his crew all really know what they are doing. Keiran has a bit of a salty, playful communication style that I personally enjoy, but can Imagine could rub some people the wrong way. Before I came to these guys, I bought a set of Continental Extreme DWS tires for my BMW at Discount Tire, and I immediately experienced some "hopping" at highway speeds. It was subtle, but I am tuned into my car and it was annoying, especially given the fact that the car had new tires and was freshly aligned. I took the car back to Discount Tire, and they checked the alignment and said everything looked good. One of the guys that test drove it could feel the hopping, but other than providing slack jaws and blank stares, nobody at Discount Tire had any suggestions for how fix it, and the Manager even implied that there was something wrong with my car. At the recommendation of my mechanic, I took the car to Gran Tourismo East. Within seconds of me explaining the problem, Kieran stopped me to tell me that this is a regular occurrence with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires because they are frequently out-of-round. He took me back into the shop, and bolted one of my wheels to their machine, and gently spun the wheel. Sure enough, the tire was *far* from perfectly round, and had a vertical wobble of about half an inch. Kieren recommended a far better Michelin tire, and I was able to get a refund from Discount Tire. I now buy all my tires from Gran Tourismo East, which costs me a little bit more than places like Discount Tire, but the peace of mind from having the right tires installed properly is worth every penny. read more

Kieran has gone to bat for me with an getting an extended warranty on my car honored & on another occasion saving us $$ from a crooked dealership who was trying to overcharge us. I was there today getting a set of tires & I saw a woman come in for an alignment and they took the car in the back, checked it out & told her it was fine.and charged her nothing. Do you think someplace like Kauffman tire would have been so honest? These guys do performance cars, but also show the same attention to detail with standard passenger cars. Called this shop up to get a cost for wheel alignment. 1st sign of trouble: guy didn't answer my question, but asked me what kind of car it is. I say "Maserati", he says alignment STARTS at $200. I said "wow, why so much? Are you using some kind of special equipment?". He says "well, uh, it's a new alignment machine (doesn't mention the name), and these cars can take some extra time." I said, "an alignment is the same on any car". He's "Okay!" with a little attitude, as if to say "you are a little more knowledgeable than my typical customer who I can overcharge at will for high end cars, and I have been exposed for trying to gouge you, so I don't need your business". If you have a high end car, this place will try to rip you off. A wheel alignment on ANY car shouldn't be more that $60-80. I read Maserati/Ferrari online forums with very knowledgeable owners, and they all know this to be true. Go somewhere else. read more

I bought a set of tires for my 2013 Infiniti G37 from Kieran on 6/21/18. After discussing my needs and wants, he recommended a set of Yokohama tires. When I asked about the Michelins I wanted (which were more money), he was very upfront and told me the Michelins don't wear as well as the Yokohamas. I read a lot of good reviews about GTE; my fiancee has been going to Kieran for years and had only positive comments. Kieran's crew put the tires on my car and aligned it, and off I went with no problems. I took my car to Infiniti of Atlanta on 7/17 for some warranty work. The dealership informed me my rear brakes were down to 3mm and should be replaced, along with resurfacing the rotors and flushing the brake fluid. The car has 30k miles on it and Kieran's crew said nothing to me about the brakes being too worn. I took the car back to Kieran on 7/18 and explained what the dealership said. He said his crew would have caught worn brakes and said something about it last month. They pulled all 4 tires off and checked all the brakes. The pads still have about 40% left and the brake fluid is perfect. Even though it was almost closing time, they even adjusted my parking brake when I asked. Everyone at GTE I've spoken to has been pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable and even funny. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could! Gran Turismo East is the ONLY place I'm going for my tires, brakes and alignments. Keep up the great work, guys! read more

The bolts were all loose and messed up my tires. The car was driving side ways. I went back and the owner charged me again for alignment. WTF the car still drove side ways. I went to a different shop and paid $80.00 for alignment and got 4 new tires. F*^*^ these people at this shop. And the bitch that works there is a bitch......go to a real shop. Not this go-cart shop. The owner, Kieran O'Brien, has AWFUL customer service and extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. He's loud, arrogant, rude and pretends to help you out before over-charging you. He doesn't tell you what he's going to charge you before he does the work and gives you an expensive bill afterwards. When I told him not to do the work after a check, he started to yell, got angry, and was extremely unprofessional. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place because of this crazy unprofessional owner. He pretends to be honest and help you out, but overcharges and is a jerk. Locally owned and operated with excellent customer service. I'm at 20K miles and 1 subbie tire gets an unfixable flat. Turns out all wheel drive vehicles have to have all 4 tires within .25" circumference. If one is not within that differential you have to get all new tires....OR so says the dealership. After the DEALERSHIP tells me I needed to shell out $800 on 4 new tires (this is after my one tire, under warranty, is covered 44%) and after I finish losing my shit, I decide to do some research before replacing 3 well treaded tires. I googled and found that it is true, all wheel drive vehicles do need all tires within a certain circumference. I then call a local subaru shop (they're awesome too) and ask their opinion which they sweetly gave. The guy told me I needed to either get 4 new tires or... buy 1 and get it shaved to match. Um, new, vastly cheaper option. He gave me Gran Turismo East's name and said that was the only shop he knew of that shaved tires. Thank you Six Star Service! I called and the owner answered. We discussed options and he said he could do it. A whole lot of back and forth phone calls between me and the dealership occurred next. They then told me I could buy 1 tire from them (I still have the under warranty, fancy pants, hard to get tires the car came with), but they would note that this could void my transmission warranty since the tire is not the right circumference. I decided to just keep all my receipts and let them try and fuck with me if anything happens. Anyhoo, this all went down around noon on a Friday and I had a crazy busy weekend ahead starting at 2:30. I asked the GT guy if they could do it at 1 and if I could get an alignment. He was like "bring it in now and I will have you done by 2:30". It's true, they did have it done by 2:30. They also checked my alignment and didn't think it needed to be done which saved me money. All in all, I wound up spending $55, which is a huge difference from the only option the dealership gave me. I also got excellent service from super nice guys. All the guys in the shop were friendly and talkative. They seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Friendliness and not trying to gouge my purse out goes over real well with me. When all my tires do need to be replaced I will make sure that Gran Turismo gets my business. *This sweet little old guy came shuffling in and asked if they could put a patch on his car since his patch wasn't working well. They finished as I was leaving and the owner told the guy it was no charge. So damn nice. read more

Beware of this business! Women should totally avoid this place! When I told Kieran O'Brien today why I would never again do business with his shop he became sarcastic & augumentative. When I turned to leave he kept ranting & followed me through the shop toward the door. He continued his rant outside the office. I was parked at a distance & felt threatened by his behavior so I turned and told him in front of customers not to follow me. The big oversized owner of this shop actually told me he was calling the police on me because I had attacked him with the door. How silly is that?
