I visited Grand Appliance last Sunday to start my search for a new washing machine. I was hoping to compare a few models in person and was ready to talk through options, even if it was just the initial phase of my purchase. The experience took a sharp turn when I spoke to a salesperson. After I clearly stated that I was shopping around and also planned to visit Colder's to compare prices and models, the salesperson immediately became incredibly dismissive and rude. He looked at me and said, "What are you doing here when there is better prices at Colders?" and then literally just walked away without another word. I was honestly left standing there stunned. I understand that sales is competitive, but for an employee to actively tell a potential customer to leave the store and shop elsewhere is shocking. It clearly demonstrated that they do not value customer service or my business. Even my 11 year old daughter that was with me said, "Wow, they really don't want your business". I took the salesperson's advice and immediately left to spend my money with a company that understands basic professionalism. Save yourself the time and the frustration. read more

We purchased a refrigerator from here four years ago and got a five year warranty. Our refrigerator motor went out and we contacted the warranty company. The company had no record of our warranty on file. We contacted Grand appliance both in person and a follow up phone call and they told us they reported the issue to corporate and we would hear back within 24 hours. It appears the salesperson never entered our warranty in the system Thankfully we still have all the paperwork and receipts. Well 24 hours came and went and we never heard back. We then contacted Grand appliance a third time and we were told that they had nothing on file of our in person or phone call visit/reprt and we're going to file yet another notice to corporate. Unfortunately, as of this writing, we are still waiting to hear back from the warranty company and/or grand appliance. Jeff- we have physically came into the store and provided the receipt showing we purchased the warranty. It is clear your staff never entered the fact they sold a warranty in your system. I purchased a refrigerator. In conversation, I was told new unit was Same size as mine. Looked reasonable. Got unit installed and realized interior severely reduced in space. I called and asked if I could exchange for one that had fridge space I needed. Was the would have to charge me a $500 return I did tell salesman Mike P. That I had issues upgrading and paying difference. Evidently they seemed on $$$$. Not service. Ironically, new fridge is making noise 36 hours after install. I did find Best Buy has same prices and 15 day return at no cost. Think twice about buying from Grand. read more

I will never recommend Grand Appliance to anyone. Sales cannot even pick up the telephone to tell you about your order, especially when you have gone in and scheduled an appointment for delivery. Worse thing is that they don't even know the rebates properly. My wife and I felt that we were taken advantage of. Don't go there, it's a big sham. read more

I just made my second purchase at Grand Appliance in the last six months. I have a mid century modern home with original cabinetry and finding the right size appliances was impossible until I went to Grand Appliance. They had multiple options for the sizes I needed. And I found the exact stove that I wanted and 10 minutes later the purchase was made. And I can have it delivered in 48 hours. The installers that delivered my refrigerator were fantastic, and did everything that I needed them to do with respect to installation, water hookup and care for surrounding cabinets in my tight 60's kitchen. I hope I don't have to purchase another appliance in the next six months, but if I do I'll shop at Grand Appliance. read more

My husband and I walked in the store and noticed someone behind the counter. This person completely ignored us, no greeting whatsoever. We walked to the dishwasher section; we purchased a refrigerator from Grands a couple of years ago, and figured we would look for a dishwasher as well. Still, no greeting at all...and I should mention we were the only customers in the store. As we were looking at the dishwashers another worker appeared but he was too busy talking on the phone to notice us, and the person behind the counter never acknowledged us. It became quite clear we were not going to be helped so my husband and I walked towards the exit to leave...still no acknowledgement. My husband opened the door and announced we were leaving and said goodbye, and the person behind the counter finally spoke. We ended up at Best Buy where we were met with respect and dignity, and they received our business. I will NEVER refer Grands in Racine to anyone, in fact I would discourage anyone from shopping there. I rated this place one star so I can post this review, one star is actually too generous. I am not one to pull the race card....but I am hoping we didn't get acknowledge and was ignored because of the way we look. read more

Trying a 1-star review to see if I can get someone at Grand to help me. What started off as a great experience has turned into a nightmare with thousands of dollars of appliances in limbo. My sales rep Mark Klemm has stopped responding to me. Of my appliance order, 1 item was delivered not working and I cannot get anyone at Grand to help me get this replaced. Another item has been on order for a year now and I still cannot get a clear timeline on when this will be delivered. Every time I call, I get bounced from department to department and they are unable to help me. Everyone says I need to work with Mark, but I can't get Mark to respond to me. What should I do now? We had been a loyal customer for many years at Grand Appliance in Sturtevant and will never buy anything from them again. Our washing machine was only 9 months old and needed repair. It was still under the manufacturer's warranty and when I made the call to have it serviced, the customer rep told me no one would be in our area to service it for 3 weeks, which is to us was unacceptable. Meanwhile the wash kept piling up and I called Grand Appliance directly, speaking with the manager and the salesperson that sold us the washing machine to try and expedite the service. The manager said we have to follow protocol first, which I understand, but waiting 3 whole weeks to have an appliance serviced is much too long. They said they would try and expedite it by sending an email to their customer service dept., but neither the manager or the salesperson were very good at following up/or getting that problem solved. We had to call them several times to get a call back. They just didn't seem to care. When the service repair guy came out after waiting 3 weeks (Diamond Appliance Repair), he didn't even turn it on to find out what was going on with it. Instead he went right into the diagnostic testing, but then still couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. He kept asking me what kind of noise we heard and if my husband or I recorded it on our phones. Really? I finally told him that I assumed he was going to turn it on to hear it himself! But he didn't know how to operate our wash machine (he had to ask me to turn it on) and not only that, he had a very bad attitude, was being a smart*** and acted very unprofessional. He acted like he knew everything, and my husband and I didn't know anything. He just kept asking me the same questions over and over. At the time of our issue with our washing machine, a friend of ours was also having the same problem with both their refrigerator and dishwasher. They were also having problems with the repair service (A & E not coming the day they were scheduled and then also ordering the wrong part), having to wait and wait until the appliances were fixed. So it's obvious that Grand Appliance is selling junk, they need to offer much better warranty services, and their customer service department needs to greatly approve to service their customers with care and respect. read more

We had a big problem after the install was not done correctly. Grand refused to acknowledge any error on their part and stuck us with the an up-charge from their installer and now the additional cost to us of getting the range installed correctly. The product is good, the service is way off from their advertised promise. read more

I bought an LG wash tower in an open box from the tent sale at Grand in early August. I was told by salesman, Marty, that there was nothing wrong with the machine and that I would be well taken care of. Actually, there was a pinhole leak in the drain hose of the washer, a discovery I made within hours of the delivery. Grand Appliance washed their hands of any responsibility for this circumstance. It took me a week to clarify that this was the case due to myriad unreturned phone calls and e-mail messages. Then I waited another 2 1/2 weeks before LG sent a tech to repair the machine. Lessons learned- Grand Appliance provides poor customer service. If you buy an open box machine from anyone, thoroughly test it before your delivery person leaves the premises. read more

We built a new house. The builder used Grand for all appliances. Quality of the appliances is good. Delivery and set up and customer service is HORRIBLE! New gas range delivered and they did not tighten the gas line, we walked into our new home with gas smell. The refrigerator is not close to level. In our laundry they scuffed the new laminate flooring with black marks and did not clean. They did not communicate the delay in the pedestals for the washer and dryer. 2 weeks later and we are still waiting on the pedestals and the leveling of the refrigerator. Don't shop here! We upgraded my mom's appliances to LG and the dishwasher they "installed" never worked properly. They sent Someone out and said it wasn't hooked up properly. It still did not work. Then sent someone again and this time they told us it was our drains. So he had a plumber come and he said all drains are fine. Also our last dishwasher worked fine no problems only got a new one so all the appliances match. She needed a new refrigerator. Now they send out a LG technician that came and said it was not connected properly for them to run it and they they do not connect dishwashers that this was a grand appliance job. Bottom line is it never worked from day one and hey did nothing to make it right. We need a whole new dishwasher. read more

Previously ordered one from Home Depot and when they came to deliver it we were told at that time they do t do side vents. So happy with Kevan getting us the washer dryer we want and can install it . Went yesterday because I got a notice in the mail of their tent sale days before! The start of their tent sale! Got there about 1130 and was told it would be a half hour as the truck just came and they just put the tent up! They open up at 1000! We left and went to get lunch then got my tires checked and came back about 1330 and they still were unorganized! There was only one really helping an older couple for a while! We looked around and no prices on quite a few items! One man showed us a stove we were looking at that and he had to look for the price tag! As the other young man had a stack of them and they weren't finished putting them out yet! I said something to this man and he said he was working very hard but then disappeared! Didn't say anything about the stove we were looking at! We left after that knowing that no one else would help us! Very unorganized and not very helpful at all! Just to get there is a pain in itself as they were doing road work too! Plus it was a drive for us to get there twice! I would never go back there again! read more

Bought a $2,000+ refrigerator from Grand Appliance and paid for delivery and removal of old refrigerator. While removing the old refrigerator, the delivery men gouged deep scratches in our hardwood floor. My husband saw them do it. We contacted Grand Appliance and the salesman told us to get one estimate for fixing the floor. We got one estimate - it was $1100 and submitted it. No other repair companies returned our calls. Grand Appliance has refused to pay for the repair and our credit card company says since we received the refrigerator, they are not responsible for the damage. Stay away from these crooks! read more
