While I had reserved a king bed for the week, getting 2 doubles and just pushing them together must be something people do regularly because the maids made up the bed for us that way every night after we did it. Room itself was very nice but when staying at a Time Share and not having a kitchenette at least was disappointing. Shower pressure gets 2 out of 10, while there is a soaker tub that looks like it's meant for 2, it's really not. Also, the AC worked at night but I think they turn it off during the day. The biggest let down was exchanging for Mexican $ while there. My experience was bad enough. If your money from other countries isn't PRISTINE, they will not exchange it. I had one $20 with a piece missing smaller than 1/2 a grain of rice and they wouldn't take it. I also had 5 or 6 bills that had a minuscule out of ink on the edge of a bill and it wasn't until the manager could sense my frustration that he stepped in and did exchange those bills for me. Do look up exchange rates before coming to Mexico, I saw the rates anywhere from $15-20 Mexican to American. The airport was the lowest and some retail shops were the best. THE ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE exchange came when my SO tried to get pesos for $400 American. He his $200 under his keyboard and then came back to her and said "here's your $3200 for your $200." She had handed him 4 $100 bills and tried to give her change for just 2 it wasn't until she called him on it and lifted up his keyboard that he said "oh, not sure how that happened". We filed a report with management and left it at that. They may have sent a fruit bowl and chocolate strawberries to apologize but that was not sufficient seeing that Management never even apologized to us. That's all we wanted. They have central parking and a team service here because it's 5 hotels in one resort. Advantages and disadvantages to both but the tram drivers and bellmen were the stars of the shows here. My SO broke her ankle halfway thru our trip and they lent us a wheelchair and they have a special tram to haul them around. The VALET service sucked! While being told to call ahead so they were there when the tram brought is good in theory, we still waited upwards of 30 minutes longer than they said it would take. Not once was our car ready when they said it would be. Also, having the car just sit in the hot sun when not in use makes it very uncomfortable during the summer when you get in. If you're going to the beach club you can't bring food or drink and their prices are very steep. Pro level cheat is to bring a Hydroflask filled with whatever adult beverage you want for the day and just get your water from them. Also, if you want a Cabana at the club and aren't Platinum, go to the reservation booth there at 11am and let them know you'd like to wait for an unclaimed Cabana at noon. Also, the sand on the beach is nice and you can lay there but the shore at the waters edge in all rocks for quite a way and makes it very difficult to enjoy the ocean waters. Overall, this place has some great qualities but I think coming here for just a meal will be the way to go when I come back at Christmas time. read more

We love this resort! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with 2 boys and had so much room. There are 2 pull out couches in the living room so you could easily sleep 4 more. Both bathrooms had a jacuzzi which was fun. We brought some staples and supplemented the first night with basics from jade the on site store. You could easily cook in your room with basics from Jade-they even had frozen chicken strips and frozen steak filets. The prices were really high for snacks but other stuff was reasonable. We did go into town for dinner and bought everything from Soriana. We did breakfast and lunch in the room (or packed sandwiches and fruit for the pool). We were on the first floor which gave us a terrific view of wildlife from terrace. We did eat in Salum 2 times and it was delicious and so beautiful and relaxing in the evening. I don't understand the negative reviews. This resort is beautiful and so clean and taken care of. Every person we met was ready to help us in anyway possible and tolerated our attempts at Spanish. I highly recommend coming to feel fully relaxed and away from your normal busy life. Tips: if you want to swim in ocean bring water shoes it is rocky. Bring goggles or snorkel gear there are cool fish to view in ocean. Be prepared to walk and enjoy the stunning grounds. You can bring in your own food to pools except beach club so if you are on a budget do that. Happy hour drinks are great and boys loved a daily pina colada. You can do laundry for $6 a load-they provide detergent. Bring reusable water bottles to fill in room. read more

Beautiful, but DEFINITELY has a ton of shortcomings. Let's start with the positive: Rooms are beautiful and facility is jaw dropping... ends there for me. Restaurants are average at best. I went to the the Cuban restaurant and the menu was the same as Salum (open menu restaurant). No Cuban food in sight. My cousin ended up ordering chow mein! Yes, Chinese food. Still cost a fortune. Beaches are whack. Rocks everywhere. Mother Nature has something to do with this but I'm reporting what I see. Internal TRANSPORTATION is HORRENDOUS!!!!! It literally takes 45 minutes to 1 hour round trip to go anywhere here. We have chosen to walk a few times and it has been faster, but now I'm drenched in humidity. There own staff can NEVER agree in which cart(shuttle) to take. It's a cluster F&$! Final take, great for pictures. I do not own a timeshare here and I will probably never return. I would not recommend this to people I like. If I don't know you... give it a shot and review yourself later. You may have a different experience. read more

Super nice room. Room gets 4.5 stars. The 3 stars is just because the location is so far from everything. What makes it worse is the carts from other locations are never going back to the grand bliss. It makes getting around a nightmare. In puarta Vallarta it was extremely easy to go by cart and the walking paths are much more direct. The beach club is great and really nice but it's annoying how going from pool to pool you can't bring towels and need to carry around towel cards and such. In general the riviera maya property is much more crowded, larger, and seems to have more rules. Fridas was my favorite restaurant by far just judging by the food. The steak and mole enchilada combo was amazing! Nectar was really cool and our waiter Seth was awesome! The beach is really rocky in the water but up to the water is mostly nice and sandy. Again the gym is super far away on the other side of the property about a 25 min walk or like 15 min if you catch two shuttles. Check in took like 2 hours and gets a 1 star. Even after all that our keys didn't work when we got to our room. Our safes also didn't work and we got error messages. Also don't fall for the marketing promises. They promise things such as free clubs and 69$ massages but they simply are not true. They are just trying to get you to say yes at all costs. It seems to be common practice. STAY AWAY FROM HERE I booked a room for 7 days at the Vidanta resort to stay at The Bliss for my anniversary. Upon my arrival, it was nothing but a massive headache. As I was checking in on Friday 02/09/24, I was notified that there would be a $1000 hold on my credit card which in itself is extremely outrageous on top of the $300 resort fee. Then was told that I would be staying at The Grand Mayan and not at The Bliss as I had originally booked. Not only was this room a downgrade from what I had originally purchased it was an absolute inconvenience to get anywhere on the property being that it was on the other side of the resort. On top of that, the front desk person was extremely unhelpful, he did not care the least about the fact that we were being downgraded. As if the day couldn't get any worse the fact that we could not leave the lobby without being swarmed by an army of vultures trying to pressure us into buying tickets and packages, as well as trying to push a B.S. time share tour on us. This experience alone was enough to make me not ever go back to the Vidanta resort. Just wait it gets better, on Sunday 02/11/24 we called the concierge for our vehicle and let them know that we were going to be visiting family for a couple of days and wanted to know if there would be an issue with parking because we had pre-paid for the week in which they said it wasn't an issue. I left a bathing suit hanging in the closet, leftover food in the fridge and my husband had left a couple cans of tobacco behind for when we returned. Please tell me why when we returned to the hotel on Thursday 02/15/24 we get to our room, unlock the door, mind you with the wristbands issued to us by the hotel, and there is a complete and total stranger sitting on the sofa completely unaware of the situation! We went downstairs to the concierge to find out what was going on, she called the manager and he said that "since you left the room" that was considered as us checking out even though we had already paid for a week stay. At this point I am beyond mad so we go down to the lobby and speak to the manager directly only to be told the same thing over and over. Then he threatens to call security, so we say "call them" then he threatens to call the police and once again we say "go ahead and call them" at this point the manager finally says " I refuse to provide you with any service" as he directs another employee to put us in a different room. While waiting for another room the man we found in our original room is now in the lobby stating that his wristband had been deactivated and he could no longer get into his room! Hi all...this is long but read through...My girlfriend saw an ad on FB from Vacation VIP to go to Mexico. It was so reasonable that she sent it to me as a joke. Well the joke is on her because now we are enjoying ourselves fully at Vidanta Resorts at the Grand Bliss section. This place is HUGE.... even though I told them that I have mobility issue and need to be close by everything, getting to my room alone is a good 10min walk (for me) may be less if you have no issues. This place is beautiful, the hospitality is like none other that I've been to (and I travel a lot). Everyone is courteous and ready to help. Love that they place their hands on their heart when greeting you! A word of advice, do not bring a lot of clothing...waste of time because each day you will be at a different pool. Bring lots of bathing suits, cover up, ones and fives...although tip is included qhen you eat or drink, I find that it helps when you add additionL $2-5 depending on the level of service. Do go to Jungala the water park and rent a cabana...not that expensive and fruit, meals, and beverages are included depending on what you choose. Do go qith a credit card because a hold will be place on it so they can charge up everything to your room (except Covid19 testing and transportation back to the Airport). I love it here and do plan to come back. Now I told you all I love...here is a couple of things I didn't like. I didn't like the fact that they kept calling my room to show me this 'Disney world' they are building but tell me that I don't have to buy anything (I was born at night but not last night) and the fact that the beach was full of rocks and was dirty. We have a membership with Vida Vacations and the membership is tied into Vidanta Resorts. The resort includes the Grand Mayan, the Grand Bliss and the Grand Luxx. Your ability to wander about the resort depends on your membership level, with Luxx being the top and the Mayan being the bottom. Arriving and checking in can be a bit off a bureaucracy as you have to wait in line and the clerks take their time processing all your information. As soon as you're done, the time share sales people come out of the wood work and tries to get you to attend one of their high pressure sales presentations. Unless you show up for one, they hound you to death. Like I said, the part of staying at any time share/vacation club resort are the damned sales people. They bribe you with a free breakfast, make misleading statements and keep you captive for at least five hours trying to sell you something or sweeten a deal. What it means is more debt, don't let them fool you, they try to make you believe what they are offering in return is anything but Monopoly money. My wife and I went through a grind where they offered to sweeten our current bill into a interest free deal. It was just bait to get us to upgrade. A half a day wasted. Minus two stars for this. The room itself was nice, clean and roomy. No complaints. Had a nice view of the jungle, all staff was very friendly. There are at least two dozen restaurants around the resort, all very good but a bit pricey. On positive, the drinks are not watered down, proper margarita's, not the watered down variety. There are access areas to the beach and pools. The Grand Luxxe and Bliss have reserved spots. There is a general large pool area that everyone else goes to. Only bad part is that unless you establish a spot early in the morning, finding a couple of lounge chairs is a challenge. Beach itself is groomed every morning, but you can't fight Mother Nature, there is a lot of seaweed. If you don't mind that it is nice. I enjoy coming here once a year. It's a touch on the pricey side and you feel like a captive. Outside of the hard sales pitch for time shares, it's relaxing. As I am thinking about it, one thing you need to watch out for are these high pressure sales people. My wife got suckered into a deal where we could refinance what we owe into a lower interest rate. When all was said and done, they wanted us to sign a deal with $16,500 down payment and $51,000 to get a room for this goddamn Disney type park they are building. They really put the screws on us too and we were able to walk out after 6 hours. They didn't let us leave without some Mexican guilt trip. Avoid the sales people, tell them to f..k themselves. You'll be doing your self a favor. read more

I have to begin by saying that the Grand Bliss is a beautiful hotel and resort. The Grand Bliss is part of Vidanta, which is a large resort located off the outskirts of Cancun. Within the resorts there are a lot of hotels, and Grand Bliss is one of the more expensive hotels to stay in. My family has a membership that was purchased a few years back, and we were able to enjoy this resort at an inexpensive rate. I have to begin by stating that my entire visit here was marvelous, contrary to other prior reviews stated. Everyone at the resort strives to be attentive and to provide great customer service. The resort is beautiful, with Mother Nature all around everywhere. Our room was the suite, and we had a personal small pool on the outside of our room and a jacuzzi tub. Our room was always very clean. And in our terrace view, you could hear and see the native animals outside. Very beautiful and relaxing to stay outside and listen to the sounds. The restaurants are expensive, and not very good. Hence, be careful, they are tourist traps, I recommend eating outside the resort to save money. Overall, beautiful resort- highly recommend it. The beach is ugly, swimmable but I don't recommend it. It has a lot of seaweed with rocks but the jungle views and beautiful pools make up for it. I will definitely be returning. read more

We are staying at the Grand Bliss Luxury Resort Spa in Cancun Mexico. At first glance the facilities are beautiful but quickly the shortcomings show up. Changing rooms is impossible even though everyone promises tomorrow morning. Checking in is a lengthy inefficient process. The tram service is less than fast requiring multiple transfers and wait times. The main pool lounges and cabanas are full early in the day. Today the workman invaded the resort. Loud banging, drilling, sawing and grinding to the extent if no napping or watch tv. Complained to receptionist at the checkin locations, housekeeping , maintenance and customer service. They all promised to take care of it but didn't. It's now almost 5:30pm and the noise stopping. 5days is too long. Can't wait to get back home! read more

The Resort is beautiful staff was very nice, This is not all inclusive, prices were reasonable mostly, beach was not swimable lots of dried seaweed on beach the only resort I've gone to that doesn't clean the beach .coffee or drinking water also is not free in rooms, your expected to go thru a time share bullshit day , we gave them the $20 REFUNDABLE if you show up, but didn't show, our room was called 44 times that day of not showing, and still after saying I told you I didn't want to go they called again we unplugged the phone, room was nice till we pulled out the trendle bed under sofa to see a moldy carrot that got worse while we were there for 7 days, first 2 days we had sign on door for no maid service while gone well we still got service but carrot still there , total of 4 days cleaning and one not permitted or even knew turn down service was included the carrot got really disgusting, $10 a day parking room tax daily another $75 fee for I dont remember at check in, they also put in a donation of 300 pesos for the resort but let us know so we can say no.resort is in a great jungle setting with iguanas everywhere expect to walk alot or wait for rides, really the worst part was being pressured to go to the time share crap, I already own down the rd I donrt need another, thanks RCI for that bullshit. The staff at the Vidanta resort is amazing. They're very polite, super helpful. However, the sales people harassed us all week to attend their presentation. When they saw us leaving the resort, they would always ask where we were going and did we consider booking our activities through them? We paid for all our activities prior to our vacation and had plans all week. So we didn't have time to attend their sales presentation, nor did we want to waste half a day getting pressured into purchasing into their resort. They don't have an all-inclusive package, but when all was paid for at the end, it was comparable to other resorts with all-inclusive. The food is good, but expensive. Overall, the sales people need to learn from their service staff. read more

We were gifted this place for one week for our honeymoon and honestly, if we had paid for it, I would really only be giving this place 1 star. For a thousand dollars a night, they really should be doing better than this. I'm usually very forgiving and very understanding, especially so during this pandemic. In fact, this is my first review. I'm not sure I've ever felt strongly enough to write a review. It's not ALL bad, and I'll share some good, but what is bad outweighs the good significantly, especially when you always should consider price when considering services. You should get what you pay for. 1.) The location is beautiful as are the grounds. And that's about it. 2.) the spa which is not a part of the Grand Bliss but is a part of vidanta was great. 3.) the concierge wavered between absolutely helpless and moderately helpful. 4.) the workers transporting you from location to location were friendly and always remembered our names. 5.) there was a dying iguana choking blood on the sidewalk and while I understand that iguanas live here and don't cohabitate well with moving vehicles and is of little fault to grand bliss, it was kind of a hard thing to see day one. 6.) the housekeeper came in once, on our last night when we were in the shower, and despite our calls for her to leave, she continued her business as usual, leaving their signature Hershey kisses as a tasteful souvenir for her presence during (wishful) moments of intimacy. 7.) the servers, both at restaurants and in room service, took an average of 20 minutes after sitting just to give you water and another 60-90 minutes to bring you your order. 8.) We intentionally PICKED and booked a private and fairly Isolated cabana two days in advance and when we went to check in, they moved our reservation to a different cabana because a wedding was there. She moved us to a cabana surrounded by howling children. I'm all for happy children having fun, but when you book something private, you want something private. She then said that the cabana is now complimentary as are drinks and food. Later on, after eating and drinking, she let us know only the cabana is free. We don't mind paying. We still did, and we tipped the waiter handsomely because he was great, but again, just tell us what we have to pay for and we will. Don't tell us that something is free, look at the bill and decide it's worth our payment. 9.) our bedroom door handle was broken for 2 days. We told them day 3 that it was broken. They said they'd repair it and they did not. In frustration, we took the handle and screws and brought it to concierge and let them know it's still broken. They then fixed it on our last day here. Hallelujah. 10. I rate the Caribbean a 10/10 and will be coming back, just not with Vidanta for $5,000 dollars of frustration. (Just for accommodations). read more

The Grand Bliss is a beautiful property. The food is excellent at every establishment that we ate at. The staff is very professional and courteous. A few issues are that there is a lot of walking. You do have the shuttle services available but you still have to walk a lot. Plan to spend the first day getting your bearings on where to go as the signs are not of much help. The big issue or complaint that I have is the Beach Club. It is a private club only for the Grand Bliss guests yet you cannot make any type of reservation for the use of the club. You literally have to stand in a massive line as it is a first come, first serve and they do not open until 10am. People start as early as 7am just to get a spot and that is literally ridiculous. We are staying at the Grand Bliss, which is part of the Vidanta Riviera Maya. Now don't get me wrong, this place is gorgeous and the staff are some of the nicest people I have ever met, but I don't think we'll be back. The room is nice, but the beds are hard as rocks along with the pillows. I guess if you're an extra-firm type person, that would be great! But I'm a softy and it has been very difficult to sleep. The blankets are the type you'd get at a cheap motel; a thin scratchy blanket sandwiched between two sheets. Not very luxurious. On top of that, the walls are SUPER thin. The past few mornings it has sounded like the family above us is conducting a circus performance. This morning in particular we were awoken to the beautiful sound of two children running around like crazy people screaming at the top of their lungs. Our neighbors next to us were having a normal conversation and we could hear every word. If you're a light sleeper, don't stay here. Or bring heavy duty headphones. Besides the sleeping arrangements, this place really is very nice! The grounds are gorgeous, especially the beach/main pool area, the staff bends over backwards to make you feel at home, the food has been amazing! But it's honestly hard to enjoy everything when you're tired, grumpy, and sore all the time from sleeping on a rock all night. For the price we're paying I would expect a lot more. read more

Everything was amazing! We loved the resort. Everyone was super friendly, especially Laura from the Grand Bliss (front desk). The last night at the resort we schedule a bell boy to pick up our luggage 6:45am. But anyone came to pick up our luggage. Laura was at the front desk and we were running late to catch our flight. Laura said that she was sorry and she went running to get a golf cart and drove us to the main lobby! That was amazing! That is what I called a great staff! While the property is nice, the employees at the Grand Mayan properties are extremely nice but in a slavery kind of way. I stayed the grand bliss for a week and noticed that employees every time the have an interaction with guests will greet you by raising their right hand and though their chest. This is to let you know the serve with heir hearts. At first I thought it was a cultural custom of the region but later on I discovered that it is a requirement of the corporation which it is enforced by management otherwise the employees can lose their job. Another downside is the group Vidanta that hunts you down to their sales presentation and while they say it is 90 minutes, they will take a lot longer and stress you out. We kept insisting that we already had a membership through our partners but they kept insisting. When we thought it was over and we're about to be released another sales person came to the game and this time offered 7 weeks st the Mayan Palace plus one free on and 700 weeks (yes you read right seven hundred) for a one time payment of $4800. They will tell you that the $4800 can be split in 27 months without interest assuming you get approved for a RCI credit card for the first six month and then you find another one to transfer the balance for 21 months. According to the sales persona "everyone" in the US gets offers from Discover and Chase. I made the mistake of going on their offer which supposedly by Maritza it included access to the Gran Bliss and DeLuxe beach club. Well after signing and checking it the property I found out that no, I would not be able to make use of the beach club and little more research I found out that booking those 700 weeks it's other hotel was going to be a pain. Well same day I called and sent an email to advise that I wanted to cancel and by Mexican law there is a 5-day cool off period that I was going to make sure to enforced. Next day I went to the sales office asked to Canché and I was assigned to Sabana who sarcastically said "why would you lose your $5K?" And I told her that I would not lose the money because I was still within the grace period, she went back and forth try to sell more weeks and confuse me, she was rude, very unprofessional and when she brought her supervisor Omar, he had to asked her to go away. Later on she came back to apologize, Omar kept on insisting for me to keep the membership. I asked for a cancelation letter, he said i couldn't get a refund and suggested to deal with credit card directly disputing the charges, I said I could do that but first I needed something in writing proofing that I was there that such date and they refused to issue a refund. He said that I was being so peaky for wanting to cancel over not being able to access a beach club, he even suggested that I should keep the bracelet for the grand bliss and use it for future visits. I asked for someone higher, this other person keep on insisting that I should keep the membership, suggested dispute the charges with the credit card and finally said I would get a refund. A fourth persona who evidently seemed upset presented a cancellation letter with "surprise" a full refund. This company takes advantage of the guests and deceive customers to keep their money and will stress you out by confusing and defraud you with lies order to fall on their scam. Be really careful and if you decide to cancel you have the right by Mexican Law to do so within 5 days. Just be firm and very patient because they will test you until you believe their lies so they keep your money. read more

This hotel is very nice and clean. The staff is really nice and attentive. But in the hotel the walls are very thin and you can hear everything. I had a hard time being able to stay asleep since you can hear people in the hallway. Going up the stairs the foot steps eveything. This hotel is part of a bigger resort. Your literally in an island since coming in and out of the resort is a mission. The resort had pools and a store but to anywhere you literally need 15 mins to find it. Even though it's a beautiful location you feel trapped. Thankfully you have most of what you need. I would recommend staying at the grand bliss or the gran luxxe since there is a sense of different economic classes depending on the hotel you are in. Even restrict you of places you have access too. Pretty much you have everything here but it will cost you. Like I mention everyone here is super helpful and nice but getting anywhere even with the transportation is a pain. read more

Three shuttles came by to pick up other guests but we had to walk about one mile carrying a 10 pound water bottle and Groceries. Just upgraded our timeshare by about $50k. We should probably cancel if they can't get it together. read more
