The bad My wife, (Royal Resorts timeshare owner) and I spent the week of May 9th to the 17th. We were very disappointed in the condition of the beach. Erosion has left the beach almost nonexistent compared to our stay 10 years ago. There were giant 10' diameter burlap sandbags across the entire beach area leaving very little swim area. The sargassum seaweed is a problem as well making it undesirable to go in the water. A crew was constantly working with pitchforks fighting a loosing battle to remove the seaweed. Hopefully they will restore the beach to its pre hurricane status. The restaurants are a challenge to reserve a table. We were a party of 6, they had nothing available at Los Murales Mother's Day night. There were 40 percent of the tables empty the whole evening. It took a relative's complaint of an injury and inability to stand and wait for a table before they gave us a table. Tried to reserve a table at the same restaurant the evening before we left. Same issue, nothing available. No help from the owners desk, said the same thing. No tables available, this time for only my wife and I. Concierge Ian helped us out and poof, a table was available. Restaurant was 50-60 percent full at most. My wife and family have been Royal Resorts timeshare owners since the 80's. Sad that owners get this level of service. The good Aside from the poor condition of the beach, the grounds are meticulously maintained, clean and beautifully landscaped. The rooms are cleaned daily. The food in all the restaurants is very good including Los Murales. Pickleball courts and activity trainers are excellent. The pools, swim up bars, and games played in the pool areas are all fun. read more

A beautiful resort nearby Playa del Carmen. It has two huge swimming pools, four outdoor hot tubs and a dedicated kiddie pool. Staff is friendly and helpful. The resort offers a free shuttle daily to downtown Playa Del Carmen (drop-off and pickup location is "Silver Traditions" retail store across from Senor Frog's on Quinta Avenida & Calle 22 Norte) which is three miles away and the return shuttle charges 60 pesos or $4 USD per person which is reasonable. Please see my photo of shuttle departure times. The last shuttle leaves Playa del Carmen at 9:00 pm. You pay pesos or USD directly to the return shuttle's driver. Your concierge will need to make shuttle reservations for you in advance. There is no resort shuttle service on Saturdays. Taxi service to and from the resort to downtown Playa del Carmen is a flat $300 pesos or $20 USD. The resort is isolated with a few other resorts here behind a walled compound. It was very safe and you could go for walks on the main road in the compound and to the main entrance in order, to reach 5th Avenue. There is no public bus or collectivo van that comes close to the resort. You can walk down the beach to downtown Playa del Carmen and there are two brief sections where you will need to walk through shallow water (shin deep for short women), but it is a lovely scenic walk. Or you can walk down 5th Avenue to downtown Playa del Carmen instead of the beach route. The TV in our room did not work otherwise, our room was comfortable. The beach area is heavily eroded so you cannot get into the ocean, but the swimming pools were great. You can take the large red ADO coach bus (drop-off is downtown Playa del Carmen's bus station on Juarez Avenue & 5th Avenue) or Maya train (limited departure times and the station is slightly west of downtown) from the Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen then hire a taxi for $300 pesos to get here and back to the airport. Both options are much cheaper than airport shuttle services. There are 39 ADO buses that leave the Cancun Airport and go to Playa Del Carmen daily. You can see the full list of departure times on the ADO website. Once you arrive at the Cancun Airport and leave the customs area, you can purchase ADO tickets at a red ADO booth or a stand on the bus platform. The ADO bus fee is 270 pesos or $17 USD per person and use pesos or no larger than $20 USD bills. Taxi stands are easy to find in downtown Playa del Carmen. read more

Overall great for a family that doesn't vacation very often. For a seasoned traveler, it did not meet my expectations. Negatives. Beach is very rough and dangerous. Water shoes will not keep you from getting hurt. My nephew, got spines in his feet and I tore up my ankle. Unfortunately, the reef and beach, due to local laws, prevents the beach from being changed. Even if you decide to go snorkeling, beware. So, if you want a nice beach, that is easy going in your body, head to Playa del Carmen. Also, for a family friendly resort the concierge did not volunteer information to assist my elderly mother to get around, while we visited. We could have rented a scooter for her when we arrived but had no clue so we had to utilize their wheel chair when she couldn't walk. Found out about this on a last full day there. Also found out that the Coco Bongo is not a show but instead a party that the young and drunk go to. Didn't know this either. Thank goodness they allowed us to change our trio to the Cirque du Sole. The beds are hard and not comfortable. Food wise, there wasn't fresh vegetables. No events for singles that come with the family. Positives, room service, Scenery. If I could give less than one star, I would. I want to be very clear: The Royal Haciendas in Playa del Carmen was one of the worst travel experiences of my life, and I strongly urge families--especially those with LGBTQ+ members--to avoid this resort at all costs. From the moment we checked in, we were harassed endlessly about becoming timeshare members. What should have been a relaxing vacation quickly turned into constant, aggressive sales pitches. Every time we walked through the resort, staff pressured us about their membership program, to the point of anger. It felt less like a vacation and more like being stalked by pushy salespeople. The so-called "all inclusive" aspect is a complete scam. Drinks were watered down to the point of being laughable, and unless you're a member, you don't get the benefits they advertise. Even dining was a chore--trying to get into two of the restaurants was nearly impossible. They were "fully booked" at all times, yet we constantly saw plenty of empty tables. Those tables, of course, were reserved for members. It is misleading, dishonest, and incredibly frustrating. Then there's the beach. They advertise it as if it's this pristine, incredible stretch of paradise--but in reality, it is nearly unusable. The shoreline is heavily eroded, littered with broken shards of wood, and in no way resembles the photos they promote online. Families expecting a safe and beautiful beach experience will be incredibly disappointed. Once again, more dishonesty. But the most disturbing and unacceptable part of our stay came when a drunk man harassed one of my family members. He loudly hurled homophobic slurs--calling them a "f*g"--and even threatened their life. At a family resort. This is a hate crime, plain and simple. Security and staff assured us the individual was removed from the property, but that was a lie. We saw him later on, still free to enjoy the resort as if nothing happened. The fact that the aggressor was protected while my family member--who called out for help--was instead punished and kicked out, is beyond disgusting. The only explanation we can imagine is that the man was a "member," and therefore protected by the resort. Let me be clear: at a family resort, a hate crime should never be tolerated. Yet the Royal Haciendas not only tolerated it, but lied, covered it up, and turned the situation against the victim. It is inexcusable, disgraceful behavior that puts guests at risk. Now--I do not want this review to diminish the efforts of some of the staff who were genuinely kind, friendly, and helpful. There were individuals who went out of their way to provide good service, and they should be recognized. Unfortunately, the larger structure of this resort--the policies, the dishonesty, the blatant disregard for guest safety--overshadow all of the kindness shown by those few. In hindsight, being asked to leave may have been a blessing. We went to Cancun afterward and had the time of our lives--something that would have been impossible if we stayed trapped in the hostile, toxic environment of this resort. This was an incredibly sad and eye-opening experience. I cannot recommend The Royal Haciendas to anyone. The combination of constant harassment for timeshares, watered-down drinks, dishonest "all inclusive" policies, a dangerous and unusable beach, discriminatory practices, and complete failure to protect guests--especially LGBTQ+ families--makes this place not just disappointing, but dangerous. Avoid this resort. Spend your money elsewhere. There are far better places in Playa del Carmen and Cancun that will treat you with respect and honesty. read more

The resort is beautiful and the buffet food was significantly better than expected. 2 stars because the swimming area is not ideal for families or young kids, the "reservation required" restaurants were miserable (and you have to pay at those, instead of being included in the all inclusive package), and we had a 16 hour power outage that the resort was not prepared for. No way to charge phones, no flashlights to see in your room, and the only available food was from a grill. They just told you "10 minutes" every time you asked for an update....literally 16 hours. The beds are also truly double beds, not queens, make sure to check what you're booking. Service was extremely slow but the employees were friendly. It was well appointed, great all inclusive food and drinks, but underwhelming overall. read more

We went with family for a quick pre-Christmas get away. Our family with us had been a few years previously and bought a certificate for their new location, which never opened. They used it here again instead. The hotel is very nice. The pools are great. The beach is clean, but small. Took a while to find a few chairs. The service at the beach was very good though. There was only one day warm enough to spend at the beach. Service was lacking everywhere else. We didn't realize that the whole resort was not all inclusive, so whenever you went anywhere to eat or drink you had to give your room number. Even in the buffet, you had to wait to be seated and then wait 10 minutes for a coffee after again giving your room number. You needed to sign the bill at the end and they requested a tip at all bars and restaurants. The room was cleaned daily, but the drinks in the refrigerator were not replenished after the first day until the night before check out. The rooms looked dated, but I think that is actually the style they are going for. Looks and feels like an old hacienda. The resort did not meet our expectations and from our experience at other resorts in the area, we would not return here again. read more

Great Resort!! There is absolutely everything in here! Restaurants, bars, swim-up bars, outdoor games, tennis, beach volleyball court, all sorts of entertainment Zumba, water volleyball, yoga, etc.), pools for swimming and for leisure, relaxing areas, everyday programs, spa, straight access to beach with umbrellas and beach beds ready for you, access to food and drinks non-stop... EVERYTHING! The hotel is beautiful with a local orange cat who hangs around to greet guests and let them feed him! The hotel is nicely decorated with with lots of green areas and with spacious rooms with ocean view. And there are bathrobes ready for guests, and all sorts of beverages in the fridge, with a small kitchen (not sure for what with all the food around available basically 24/7). Our neighbors had a hot-tub on their balcony!!! The food in the restaurants was delicious and there was everything you could dream of! Only one thing... Beware of birds in the main restaurant! Those jerks like to fly around and poop as they please! You can easily become their target while enjoying your breakfast pastry!! Shuttle to/from hotel to shopping street in Playa Del Carmen was very reliable and the ride is just a few minutes, or you can also walk there on the beach... that took around an hour... Transport to/from Cancun airport may be pricey or a little tricky but can be figured with a pick up/drop off without using the hotel one... When coming from airport the driver will hold a big sign with your name on it, that's how you find them. It's really busy and loud. We used "MyDayTrip" with adjustment of location for pick up/drop off. It worked well (maybe a little nerve wracking) and much cheaper than a taxi. Royal Haciendas also offers day trips to see the area... We booked the day trips (i.e. Chichen-Itza) with Expedia and saved some money.. Overall our experience was just lovely! We checked in and were harassed the entire time to go to a timeshare presentation. They don't understand that no means no. Most of the restaurants were just okay and their signature restaurants were mediocre at best. The seaweed on the beach was terrible and smelled like sewage. The power went out for an entire day and into the night. The manager did nothing to accommodate the overheated guests except lie to everyone that it was the whole city. We were just in town and they had electricity. Do not waste your time and money here. read more

We stayed in the B building on the garden floor. Great if you do hot patio yoga then straight to the pool and or beach. Wonderful room and views with complimentary beverages. We do not have a membership here. We did all inclusive.The buffet options (La Veranda) are not catered to people with special nutrition needs. However I did enjoy the salad bar juice bar fo4 breakfast and the Mexican theme night options. Best option is to eat in town. There is a free shuttle til 6PM. After 6 it's only 150 pesos each way. We also order Uber Eats as well. Groceries are cheap as well so if you have a kitchen you can always cook up a Storm if needed. Great rooms and views! read more

We chose Royal Haciendas after much research on different resorts. We were originally planning on booking at one of the Iberostar resorts but I was so turned off with the lack of customer service from their call center that we decided to keep looking and stumbled upon Royal Resorts. I booked two beach front suites with jetted tubs in each. One room was to be mine and my husband and the other for our 18 year old, his friend and our 16 year old. They weren't adjoining but that was alright as they were only two doors away. We were ground floor but I did notice elevators to higher floors as some resorts don't have elevators. There was a bit of a language barrier with the guy trying to take our temperature upon arrival and also arriving back from shopping one day another guy tried to ask our room number but did not seem to understand our response. A bit frustrating only as I'm not sure why you'd have someone working in the front of the resort that only speaks one language. Our check-in bothered me and accounts for the deduction in a star. It was very blah and non friendly. It was not the first impression I wanted to feel for our stay. However, I went to the desk a couple of days later and was much more pleased with what seemed to be a friendly attitude. We were asked to meet with a concierge that would tell us about the resort and make any reservations we wanted. That's not what he did at all! His purpose was to try to sell us on their "vacation club". He was friendly but of course we made it known that we weren't interested in their "90 minute presentation". He said he'd make the few reservations we wanted but turned out not to make them. We found that out the hard way upon arriving to dinner with no reservation. Luckily it wasn't a problem be seated soon after arriving. We tried every restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with the food selections and presentation. We never had a bad meal! Room service was included which was very welcomed when one of us had a stomach ache and didn't want to go anywhere. The seaweed was annoying but not the resorts fault and didn't bother us all that much. The spa was amazing and service was top notch! My daughter and I added fish pedicures after our massages which was a really cool experience! Definitely recommend! The store on site is great and has everything you could need or possibly may have forgotten. They also have liquor. The grounds are gorgeous! We especially liked the fact that you didn't have to walk a thousand miles from your room to get to the front or any restaurant like at other resorts. We originally was supposed to be at the Royal Uno, but it was bought out by another company and everyone had to be transferred. My family and I were transferred to Royal Haciendas. Little did we know, we'd be at Playa Del Carmen instead of the bustling streets of Cancun. There was nothing to do out of the resort. Foods were subpar. Service was great, pools were fun for the children, rooms were beautiful and comfortable, but other than that, it was such a disappointment. I had really wanted my family to have a good time like I did the last time I was at Royal Sands in Cancun, but instead, we were isolated from everything. The beach was also horrible. The staff said that it was during high tide season. Therefore, nothing but shells and sharp rocks on the beach floors. Do not go in there without your beach shoes. We've only stepped into the beach water once during our 5 days there and walked right out. They tried to get us to buy another package for a discount (like Timeshare), but we declined b/c we didn't want to be locked into another presentation in which they will do us wrong. read more

Hotel is fair and service is hit or miss. We did meet two wonderful staff members, at the pool/beach area Jeremiah is the best and if you visit the lobby bar, Alfredo is amazing. These two were the exception to the rest of the staff. The food and day entertainment is good and rooms are spacious and clean. This hotel caters to white 60's+ crowd, if you are not a member of their time share you are not treated the same and often ignored. We had a major issue that was not dealt with appropriately by management initially and led to an even more extreme event that could have been avoided, but again we were not members of their time share. Hotels are a dime a dozen I strongly recommend you look for any place but here. read more

Yalie, our guest services personnel was not helpful other than calling to see if we wanted to book a trip through her. 2. The (only) ATM machine didn't have money to pull for a taxi & I almost missed my flight. When I asked Yali how else I could get to the airport, she just shrugged her shoulders. 3. It is a remote resort location, so if you didn't bring enough cash/pesos/dollars & their ATM isn't working, you're stranded unless you want to pay with a credit card with 10% extra charge and only some locations/drivers take card. read more

Ours was so kind and helpful last day. Our maid was incredible (203A) Thank you! We are here now. We will make great memories here, but hopefully this feedback is received and considered. We are guests not members. Our concierge tried to get us to commit to an 8:30 time share meeting the second we got in our room. When I told him we'd think about, of course we never saw him again. If you are a guest, you can only get reservations for dinner for 5 or 5:30. They put us in the room right next to the trucks pulling the seaweed out, so not the beach view we had anticipated. It's all the workers (work incredibly hard!), the big piles of seaweed and the trucks. When we checked in, they told us they would stock our fridge with water. We've asked three times about it and nothing. (Don't go to the lobby, you will get cornered to go to a meeting.) When we asked for a bunch of waters to room service, someone got bent out of shape and said anything over 8 waters we pay. But we aren't drinking alcoholic beverages like crazy so can't we just get all inclusive water? Lol. Loved our beach waiter Eduardo so much, the seafood restaurant was great and Juan was awesome. The bar food is yum. The drinks strong and delicious. The place is clean, quiet and relaxing. No nightlife but we don't care. It was my thirds time staying at an all-inclusive and I was not disappointed. From the second you step out of the shuttle the wonderful staff at Royal Haciendas is there to help you with a smile! The food was amazing I was surprised that when we went to breakfast on day two our server from the day before remembered our names and made it a point to stop by our table and say "hi". The rooms were cool, comfortable, and spacious. The pools were very nice and there were plenty of lounge chairs to go around. The beach was also well kept with lounge chairs and wait staff offering food and drinks on the beach. We got taxi to go to downtown and took the free shuttle to go to few surrounding areas. We also easily booked tours to Tulum, Xcaret, Coco Bongo, and snorkeling trip at the resort. Our Concierge was Lupita, who guided us through our our stay . She was awesome! Usually when I travel I try to stay at different places every time to have a different experience but Royal Haciendas was second to none and I will most definitely be staying there again the next time I am in Playa del Carmen. read more

Tonight was my first night at this awful place. We arrived to a room that was supposed to be stocked with all inclusive alcohol and we found two cans of beer in the fridge. The food was Asian theme which tasted like warmed up Costco frozen food. All inclusive beers at the Palapa restaurant were room temperature and flat, when my husband complained, they just brought us two more flat and hot beers. We get back to our room to enjoy our fully stocked, all inclusive alcohol, after complaining to the front desk, and them promising they would stock it, to the same, sad two cans of beer from when we first arrived. After multiple follow ups with the front desk inquiring as to where our alcohol was they finally showed up after an hour with a grocery bag with two sodas,two coffee packets, two waters and two hot beers and called it a day. Unfortunately, we are here for six more days with a group of nine people and we have to stick it out. It's sad that I was looking forward to a beautiful experience and this is what I get. Lastly, our friend paid and booked an oceanfront room and got a mediocre room facing a kids playground. read more

Only a limited number of a la carte options, which is fair given it is not a massive resort, but almost always fully booked many days in advance and you'll likely have to end up eating at the buffet most nights (which is hit or miss). 3. Beach quality is very subpar even relative to Mexico standards (rocky, seaweed, garbage) which is not obvious from the advertising but can be a dealbreaker for some people. 4. I will say the poolside bar and grill is great (you can eat and drink while sitting in the pool which is quite nice) Update: on day 2 of the vacation we entered the breakfast buffet, grabbed food and seated ourselves at a clean, empty unmarked table. Well after we started eating, we were asked by a waiter to get up and find a different table because he "wanted to reserve this one". My father clearly walks with a cane so I refused, and the restaurant manager came to apologize. read more

I've been a member of Royal Resorts for over 27 years between Royal Islander and Royal Haciendas. This past week we had one of the worst experiences we've ever had. We made a reservation for KINOKO thru the front desk, per their instructions, since nobody is there to answer the phone during the day. The person taking the reservation booked us for a teppanyaki table at 8:00pm. When we arrived we were told that they only do those tables at 5:00, 7:00 or 9:00pm. We had to sit at a regular table. Strike one. The hot appetizers we ordered came to the table and were cold. Strike two. Dinner was served, also cold. We asked them to heat three of the six dishes up and after two minutes they were served again, still cold. Shrimp was dry as was the chicken. Strike three. We declined additional attempts to reheat and further dry out the food and just said we were done. Manager came over with very little in the way of an apology or any compensation for the terrible meal. Sorry Royal Resorts, this restaurant is a huge failure. I hope it is gone by next year. Also, if you're going to have a buffet and menu in the Palapa why not allow the menu choice every day? The level of service has declined over the years and to think we have another 35 years here is depressing. For what we pay you need to fix these problems. read more

We just spent a week at your great Resort , Very pleased with the all Inclusive services, Room service was included and great on the days you didnt want to walk to the Buffett, but the food there was very good also . Even though there were not alot of Restaurants, the Los Murales had great Lobster. The Swim up Bar was the best ever, Realy Enjoyed Leo, Omar and Jose's service and lunch there was very good also. The Grounds were beautiful and very well kept. The rooms were kept very nice. The shuttle to town was fun to walk 5th avenue, The ruins in Tulum were a must see. I have been here twice now, and I can say almost everything is excellent. Above all, the service we encountered with wait staff and bartenders, as well as the concierge was top notch. Our favorite bartenders were in the Rotonda bar. They are Raymundo, Arturo, and Leo. Each one of these guys were some of the best bartenders I have ever encountered, and you could tell they truly enjoy their job and making guests' experiences better. Our concierge was Oscar, who was incredibly helpful and remembered all of our first and last names immediately. The best food we had was in the nicer restaurant off of the Rotonda bar called Los Morales. Instead of telling you every dish we had, I will just say that everything was fantastic! If you're all inclusive, you can get multiple appetizers and entrees per person if you so choose. I would at least suggest the buttered clams and crispy shrimp. The other incredible food experience we had was outside by the pool bar, where they set up Hibachi three times a week. The chef was very interactive, as you would expect, and the food was excellent. We even had enough for my wife to eat it for breakfast the next day. The only gripe I have is the seaweed on the beach. I can't hold that against the resort, because it is all over Playa del Carmen right now. Every morning the resort had a team of workers removing seaweed, but it just continued to roll in. If you aren't dead set on swimming at the beach, this shouldn't be an issue. Otherwise, you can go right down the road to Cancun and swim. We had such a great time, and we'll definitely be back in the next 2 years. My advice is to elect for the all-inclusive each day as long as you drink alcohol or eat a decent amount of food. You can easily make it worth it. Also make sure to check out the Rotonda bar in the evening, where they have incredible crepes, and, from what I heard, sushi! There are excursions available for every interest, or you can catch a taxi about 25 minutes to the monkey sanctuary. We went to Xichen Itza (pron. Chee-chen eat-suh), which is a must! I just got back from my 6-day spring break trip at Royal Haciendas. This location was in my budget which is why I picked it. Just some back story for reference, I have stayed at 2 all-inclusives in different cities in Mexico and had a great time which is why I booked this all-inclusive. We arrived to the resort around 6pm on a Thursday. We were told that guests normally have to change rooms on Saturday, but we didn't have to. If we were required I would have been super upset. Concierge tried to pitch us discounts if we listened to the timeshare blabber, we said no. We got to our room found out that we had 2-double beds, I was hoping for a king bed as there were only 2 of us and we are tall. The room was nice, large with lots of storage. In the middle of the 1st night I woke up uncomfortable and able to sleep anymore as we were both shoved in this tiny bed. We went down to reception at 1am to ask if we could move to a King bed room and were told that king beds were only available in suites. Why? Why is this a thing? I've read the reviews here and multiple people are complaining about the same thing. People don't want to go on vacation and sleep in a tiny bed. We asked reception if they had someway to put the bed together and keep them together. Someone came and pushed the beds together, this was good enough for our time but def not ideal. We spent 3 days at the resort, and 2 out on excursions. The 3 days at the resort were fun. The resort itself is pretty and well maintained. The pools were nice as well as the beach. We spent a lot of time at the pool bar, the staff there was for the most part awesome. The drinks were good for being all-inclusive for the most part, sometimes the quality wasn't as good. We ate at the pool bars 3 times. The fish tacos and shrimp cocktails were good as well as well as the chips/salsa. We were not impressed with any other food. The service was also very lacking at the pool restaurants. We had a hard time getting anyone to even wait on us. The timeshare people seemed to be of upmost importance though. The activities during the day were decent. We enjoyed the volleyball games. We wished there were more activities especially at night. We were so excited that on the last night (Tuesday) they announced a show. There was a stage and a white tarp draped over the back of the stage to provide a screen to project lights,we're flabbergasted at what they were considering a show. The singing and dancing were decent but nothing professional by any means. People from the audience kept getting up and leaving. We stayed until the end. We walked back to our rooms laughing at what we had just seen. I can't believe that they tried to pass that off as entertainment. The beach was very nice and that is why we selected this portion of Mexico. I read in other reviews that the seaweed was bad and I assume that is seasonal, it was fine and under control in March. We walked down the beach and our resort by far had the best/usable beach. Chair hogging at the beach and the pool were an issue, towels sat on chairs all day long. They did have someone walking around taking inventory but I didn't see the issue let up. Since we were there on all-inclusive we really wanted to take advantage of the food and drinks. As far as the buffet goes, we ate dinner there once and breakfast 3 times (no other options). At 1st we were impressed because of the location to the ocean. The service wasn't great. The breakfast was the same each time and nothing special. We booked at Los Murales for 2 nights. The food both times was great however there is a surcharge for all-inclusive to get anything you'd really want. The service the 1st time was meh but the 2nd time our waiter was awesome. Bf ordered the maki maki the 2nd time and ended up puking all night. We had the hibachi 1 night and that was very good. We had to give our room # and our last name for anything, it got old super fast. This is not how it's done at other all-inclusives. We were given some pamphlets when we checked in talking about what was going on at the resort. I lost it with all my paperwork, so I was using this large book that was in the room to try to use to call for reservations and for general info. This books info was different from the pamphlet (found it later). Please update this book or remove it from the room. Calling for reservations was a joke. No one ever answered. When I tried to get a reservation for Los Murales the 2nd time I had no luck with the phone so went there in person. Took over 10 minutes until the manager eventually came by and set up my reservation. Every time I went to the restaurant over half the tables were empty, I don't know why they are trying to create this illusion of importance with this restaurant. Overall, I will not be back to this resort. The food was not great, the entertainment was nonexistent most of the time, the beds were obnoxious. I see a lot of the same complaints in other reviews,so please help. read more

The all inclusive food isn't that great but it is the cheapest in the area. Definitely do not leave the sliding door open because I had it open for 5 mins and the room swarmed with bugs and we just checked in. We had to argue for a new room. The staff is super friendly and they work on tips. Plan ahead and make a reservation for the restaurant. The food there is great and much better than the buffet. There's a lot included in the all inclusive. The beach and pool waiters can be a bit slow. Also, get there early to get a spot. People keep stay all day. The beach is beautiful and I would stay here again mainly because the price was decent read more

Oh man, this place was great! Wife and I went in early Oct(hurricane season) and only paid $600 per person for 3nights. All inclusive including airfare. How do you beat that? The room was a nice size with 2 full sized beds and very clean. Following items were included in the price: - meals - drinks/alcohol - towels - gym - water sports Staff all around was super friendly and our concierge was very accommodating and would gladly book reservations each night for Los Murales(one of several fine dining establishments within resort). One thing to point out is that the concierge will request to sit with you in order to present the timeshare options. Very typical of most of these resorts as that's part of their business model to try and get people to buy into their TS. We explained to our concierge (Sebastian) that we wouldn't be able to sit thru one cause we were only there for 3nights. He was disappointed but in no way made us feel guilty or neglected us. He was a true professional and I hope to go back and get Sebastian again and we would definitely sit through a presentation due to his professionalism. Since it was hurricane season, the resort was about 50% booked and it seemed everything we did only have a few people there so we were so relaxed and never felt crowded. The pool side bartenders were great to chat with and made the drinks nice and potent(did you know you don't really get drunk when drinking in a pool??). Beach is only steps from the pools.. All in all, Royal Hacienda was a great experience and I'm looking forward to going back with the whole family next time as they have all day child care :) read more

This property is fully amazing. I recommend buying here if you're looking for a time share condo. The pool bars are fantastic with a wonderful selection of food and even more selections of drinks. Thank you to Carlos in the pool bar for keeping us well watered while we were there! Over all the buffet they offer each night and for breakfast in the morning is full of rich and really wonderful food. Great people. Great service. Great time!! read more
