First of all no respect for local area and people trying to get to sleep, they keep there doors open and music pounding, then party in the parking lot, well after this weekend i have decided to contact local police dept and also the Mayors Office to voice mine and many others who live in the area. Poor service. Food took waaaaay to long to come out abd bartender was rude when i asked her about the food. She said rice takes a while to cook. I literally ordered curry shrimp and rice. My first visit to Grand Cafe was a few years ago. It was a Friday night around 11:30. The place was empty but the music was nice enough to keep me around. I ordered drinks for myself and Hubby and we took a seat in the VIP section. We didn't pay to sit there we just sat there because it was open, the place was empty and it had the best view. And, no one seemed to mind. As the night went on we tried to tolerate the DJ's, there were about three that took turns switching out. They were all just okay. On another visit, this time a Saturday night, around midnight, the music was better, much better. It wasn't crowded but we didn't feel like we were the only ones who came out to party either. And speaking of parties, it became apparent, rather quickly, that everyone else knew about a party taking place that night. After people started pouring in wearing all white, that's when we figured out there was an all-white party going on. Here we are dressed in colors that aren't white, having dinner in order to eat before we drank and there's a "private" party about to take place. It was a bit uncomfortable, but not enough to make us leave. This was one reason we stopped going to the club part of this restaurant, they didn't do well communicating what was going on, on what night. You never knew what you were walking into. Was it going to be live and pumping or dead and boring, you never knew. Now they do a little better with their communication on their Instagram page. As far as the food is concerned, they do a good job. I've had a few of their dishes and can't complain. Ordering take-out is a much better experience for me. read more

Went there for food - my friend wanted pepper shrimp but there happened to have been a party that night later in the evening. I had the Escovitch fish which was awesome and the mild wings ( wings definitely hit the spot). The fish was really good also. The bartenders are sweet and make some good drinks. The food here is fantastic. I've had the Escoveitch fish, the chicken wings with hot sauce, and their sandwich that includes fried avocados. They take a long time to bring the food out, because it is cooked to order. I haven't purchased a bad meal yet. The music is very loud, so if you don't like loud music, wait for your order in the car, and come back when it's ready, or place your order in advance (call in or use online ordering). I know this bec as use i order and drink the same thing everywhere I go. The staff is not the most friendly so don't look for a conversation or a welcome smile. Returned for take out at 10pm. The inside is set up really nice. Like a bigger ginger bay but better.. I liked the fact that it was middle age to an older crowd there with mixture of cultures. Some came from work and some came to.meet up and have karaoke. A pool table is also available. I Wouldn't come to the club because the night (1:30am) came to get Food, there were to many youngsters there. However I will difinitly return with my spouse or friends for a few drinks and dinner. This had to be one of the best roast fish I've had in a good while. The vegetables were seasoned well and cooked properly, the water crackers made for a great starch. The fish had a good flavor although a little more salt wouldn't have hurt, it flaked and was firm to touch (perfect)!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I found some scales here and there its nothing major just kind of annoying, I will be buying again though. read more

I went there last night (Friday) the dj was horrible. There was a camera man recording and would not go away when he saw my whole group trying to get away from the camera. Then the waiter/ bartender cleared our vip table without permission and threw all our drinks away. In the midst of that I asked him to tell the camera man I would prefer to not be on camera and he told me to tell him myself. Okay so I went there after a night of partying at another location. I arrived at 2am and the place was still pumping. The cover charge was $10 and the music was really great. If you are looking for a West Indian lounge/bar in South Florida this is the place to go. I would have given them more stars if it wasn't for the ridiculously slow bar service; i stood at the bar nearly 30 mins waiting to be served and it was not only me I was one among many. Also they stated that the kitchen was open until closing time so we ordered the BBQ wings the problem is that you order your food at the bar and there is no way to know if your food is ready unless you stand at the bar and wait and the wait time was nearly 49 mins SMH. However when I did get the wings they were great. So all in all if they rectified there bar/restaurant service they would get 5 stars. read more

My party and I drove 45 minutes for a party at Grand Cafe last night. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had while visiting Florida. We called in advance to inquire about the dress code. The staff who answered said "no shorts", nothing else. When we arrived I was told that I could not bring my cross body purse into the party. The female security guard told me I had to leave my purse in the car. I informed her that I had valuables in my life purse that couldn't fit in my pockets and couldn't risk leaving them in an uninsured parking lot. No response. I then asked to speak with a manager to request that they simply search the bag. No one responded. All of this was occurring while I watched numerous females enter with bags larger than mine, not even being searched. The staff simply repeated that they had a "no backpack rule" which didn't even apply to my purse. No one could provide an explanation of this rule or why it wasn't mentioned when we called. Still no manager in site. One of the members of my party had already paid for all of us and was waiting for us at the door. Once we decided not to patronize this business the woman collecting entry fees refused to refund our money. I refuse to patronize a business with such poor ethics. The entire bag policy poses a huge risk to patrons as they are putting themselves at risk of having their cars broken into. Thieves thrive on situations like this. Plain and simple, this business doesn't care about customer service or basic logic and will NEVER get a dime of my money. read more

Please do not go to this restaurant!!! Take out only!!I have been working in restaurants for 14 years, and I must say this was the worst experience that I have ever had. It was all relative to the service. First I made a reservation for 8 o clock on a saturday night. When we arrived the one and only front of house server did not remember the reservation for 9! We were the only table there and there was no music or anything. She came to the table and took 5 orders out of nine and never returned until we complained. Apps came out after entrees, kids meals after entrees. Some of the food never got ordered. The manager came out and apologized and they went right back to the same service. I was so embarrassed that I paid for most of the table. My friends wives want t kill me for taking them there. The food was ok, but I would rather eat at checkers or McDonalds,the service there is far superior. read more
