When we got there around 11:00 they didn't say that they were closed, but the cook hadn't showed up yet. That's understandable. So we perused the gift shop for 10 minutes or so. They seated us and took our order but let us know that it may take a little longer than usual due to the circumstances. Not a problem! It wouldstill be less time than driving to the next restaurant. Glad we waited, because it was a delicious lunch. We both had the "Zoomie" Burger with fries. A smash burger! Well seasoned! The fries were fries. Typical diner style frozen fries. But I don't order fries with a burger. But ... I did finish all of them. The waitress was amazing. Very apologetic (unnecessarily) and kept our drinks filled. We love seeing new caves when we are able to find one that offers tours. The cave itself was neat; we only did the short tour which lasted about 15 minutes. We also added on the dinner in the cave. Running about $70 per person, I wasn't expecting a five-star meal, but I thought it would be at least a decent meal for the price. We had ordered the steak, potato and broccoli dinner. When the plates were put in front of us, we were surprised that the steak was as burned as it was. For the potato they only had butter packets & sour cream packs as topping options and unfortunately the broccoli was cold. Drink wise everything was canned and some of the sodas were just the mini's. For the price I feel like it could have been a bit better, especially since more people have been looking into visiting after seeing this spot posted on online. I feel like our food may have been a little better and cheaper, if we had just ordered food from the cafe above ground. Our server was sweet though and even dealt with the angry group at the other table who were unhappy with the food as well. read more

We stayed in the motel and toured the Cavern on a quick getaway for the weekend. All the staff was super friendly and the rooms were clean and comfy. The Cavern tour was so neat and the guide was so funny. We ate at the restaurant in the Cavern and that was a unique experience. My husband had the bison burger and said it was delicious. I had the grilled chicken salad and I think I would have rather had the BBQ pork. The salad was weird with sliced zucchini and the ranch was kind of bland. The service was fantastic and the server was very chatty. We definitely had a great time. read more

Post for June 13th, 2025 This is the last stop before hiking into Havasupai Falls. It's an hour away from the Hill Top where you start your descend into Havasupai Falls. The service here has been nothing but friendly and accommodating. The first night of check-in we had no issues other than the wifi not working in our room, which wasn't an issue for me because I'm going to be without wifi or cell service for the next couple of days, what's one more day? Anyways, get here before 6pm to check-in if you're going to Havasupai Falls the following day or the day of. if you stay here they provide you with complimentary continental breakfast. Breakfast was literally 2 hard boiled eggs in a commercial plastic bag, cereal, regular milk, bagels, sliced bread, a toaster for your bread, butter, Philadelphia cream cheese, cups of OJ, cups of Yoplait yogurt, and salt packets. For what it was, I didn't mind it. It did the trick and helped me start my day. The rooms themselves a kept nicely and comfortable beds to sleep in. The restaurant on the premises is nice. The staff are friendly and accommodating as well. My group had the fry bread tacos which were MASSIVE and I had the Zoomie Burger. I had a piece of the fry bread taco and it tasted great. My Zoomie Burger was infuriated over cooked, but I think that's just how they cook them naturally. An interesting stop off the 66, maintained by the Yavapai tribe. You pay $26 or so, enter the elevator as if you are in a building, and then you go 250 feet down, down , down into a giant dry cavern. You'll see crystals and more crystals coating the walls like frost. There's the mummified carcass of a bobcat that met his end 150 years ago. Discarded mining tools. And a room full of barrels of saltine crackers and toilet paper, a reminder of the Atomic Age and the Cold War. You can even get married in a cave! We really enjoyed this little excursion. The Grand Canyon caverns is one of those special gems on historic Route 66. Just a few miles from seligman but so far from average. I've been enjoying the caverns camp sites for some years and am always satisfied. But in the last few years they have stepped up their game. Cleaned up more amenities and ample staff. We enjoyed complimentary continental breakfast during our stay and Lisa was wonderful, even went out of her way to get my daughter a blueberry muffin. Angel in the camping office helped me not have to move our rv when I accidentally did 2 separate nights instead of booking 2 continuous. They truly love their resort and it shows. Clean shower rooms and updated motel rooms along with a good restaurant that had live entertainment. All that not even mentioning the caverns and their fascinating history. From discovery in the 1920's till today inspiring awe in countless generations. The dinner tour is an awesome offering and they even have a short tour now. I can't say enough. It is a great experience. We went down over 200 feet into the cavers with tour guide Susan (Who is awesome and very knowledgeable) which is a great experience more than worth the drive. We also reserved to have lunch in the cavern at the restaurant, very nice experience and good food. We took our 8 yr old grandson who thinks it was the greatest thing in the world. My husband and I stopped for a cavern tour during a roadtrip across the Arizona section of Route 66 tour and we are glad we did! Susan, our tour guide, did a great job giving us historical as well as geologic descriptions of what we were seeing in this amazing, large underground dry cave. They just reopened in June after installing a new elevator and improving a few tunnels used to access the existing cave tour. We chose to take the extended tour due to timing and it is well worth the small amount of extra cost. We found it a little confusing where to purchase tickets, but once we were directed further down the road to the restaurant, it was easy to find. Great RV area and large restaurant where we would have eaten if we'd had more time. If you're thinking about planning a tour, we recommend! read more

The restaurant was open at a limited time when we were there (11am-3pm) but the owner mentioned that he'll stay open later if/when more people are around. With that said, the owner and one of his guys were just the most pleasant people we have ever met!! Very welcoming, nice, explained a ton of stuff to us that we appreciated - overall good energy kind of folks. After a long morning of driving this was the perfect meal to recuperate and just feel good! My southwestern burger was so so good and you can't sleep on the fries (we ordered extra to go for dinner since we're checked in overnight at the Inn and nothing else is open around the area). Total waist of money. This is a mined out cavern with very little stalactites, and no stalagmites. The guide, Charlie, didn't even now the names of these features. He had a flashlight that couldn't light up the interior or the few crystals in the interior. He had three pages of notes to read from in his pocket and did not use them. It showed he was not prepared. The features they emphasized is you can pay more and get married, have a lunch, or sleep overnight. read more

I was really looking forward to this cave tour, but unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. While the natural setting had potential, several aspects of the experience were underwhelming. The guide didn't provide much interesting history or geological information. She also spoke fast and unclear. We were hoping for a more educational experience. Her flashlight battery died and had to borrow one of the guests, as she did not have a backup. One of the guests pointed out the colors on the formations towards the end of the tour, and she was surprised herself! I wouldn't recommend it unless improvements are made. Super cool motel. Stayed in February so there was still some snow but the room had a heater that was perfect! The room had two beds, mounted tv with a couple channels. It had everything you needed to sleep and shower. Caverns were closed when we visited. The cafe was open and we had chicken tenders. It was a cool place to be, pretty big property. I did not expect a whole lot given the remote location of the inn. We did check in very late where we were accommodated by overnight attendant. The room itself was simple with the bare basics. The heater didn't work very well and it was pretty chilly. The water pressure in the shower was also very bad. The bed was huge and that was probably my favorite part. Came here after checking in for my permits to hike to Havasupai. You have to check in a the Grand Canyon Cavern Inn the day before you start hiking. This was the closest open food option after checking in and I wanted to get a proper meal before starting my hike tomorrow morning. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The food isn't fancy, but it is filling and it was nice to have a warm meal. Judging on the food alone, I would probably give it three stars, but there was ample seating, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient for my situation. read more

We planned our entire Valentine's Day weekend around having dinner in the Caverns, especially since it was the first day of the season and it happened to fall on Valentine's Day. We booked it the very first day reservations opened. We even flew into Las Vegas and drove 2.5 hours specifically for this experience. We arrived about 45 minutes early and told them at check-in that we were there for both the dinner and the tour. They told us to come back in 40 minutes, so we went to the restaurant to have a drink. Unfortunately, that's where things started going downhill. The server was making inappropriate and corny jokes -- saying things like, "I know what you'd like, a knuckle sandwich," pretending to almost spill a drink on me, and awkwardly demanding payment. It was unprofessional and not funny. Next was the tour, which was even more disappointing. Our guide openly told us she was only there to help out and had moved on to housekeeping. Multiple times she said things like, "I shouldn't be telling you that," and "That's not my job." It did not feel organized or professional. At the end of the tour, we mentioned we were there for the dinner, especially since we could see people already dining in the cavern. The guide spoke to someone in the dining area and came back saying, "We don't have food for them." We were still allowed to sit and were offered a drink. We had one drink before being told we had to go back upstairs because they couldn't leave us alone down there and needed to take the guests who had finished dinner back up. During this time, we overheard staff chatting on the radio about having a party of 16 upstairs who were "more important" than our party of two. That was incredibly disappointing to hear. When we returned upstairs, we spoke with previous guests who mentioned their steak was rubbery and overcooked. At that point, after flying in and driving five hours round-trip from Vegas, we decided this experience simply wasn't worth it and requested a refund. We spoke with the Restaurant Manager, Don, who was apologetic and explained the General Manager was not there. It's hard to understand how the GM would not be present on opening day -- especially on Valentine's Day. They refunded the dinner but would not refund the tour. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience that did not live up to the planning, travel, or cost. 0/10 -- would not recommend. I would give them a zero if I could. read more

When I heard they opened a restaurant inside the cave and Grand Canyon Caverns I knew I had to give it a try. I booked a reservation for a 12:45 PM lunch and hit the road. It turned out I was the only one booked for that time so I had the place to myself. That was nice. I spent my lunch chatting with the service attendant. I ordered a baby bella and swiss cheese burger and a side of fries for my lunch. It was brought dowm from the surface in a small metal trash can and hoisted up to the dining platform. That made me chuckle. It was like a really cheesey dinner and a show. The food was actually really good though. A tender juicy burger. Lots of suteed mushrooms. Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato all served on a ciabatta roll. With the side of steak cut fries (perfectly cooked), this was a good lunch with unsurpassed atmosphere. But what really set it apart was the all-you-can-eat pie. I had a piece of cheese cake (not NY style) and chocolate cream pie. Both were creamy and delicious. And way too much food. I still had a cave tour to look forward to but I was so damned stuffed. I headed back to the surface and waited for the 2PM tour. And yes, lunch comes with a 45 minute tour of the cave. Like a really killer 2-for-1 deal. It all makes for a wholly unique experience. There were five of us in our group who took the cave tour with David - who was pretty funny and engaging and answered all of our questions - and then ate lunch with Melissa as our server. It was a really neat experience - a lot to see during the tour AND while we enjoyed our food! Two of us got salads with grilled chicken - very fresh and tasty and three got burgers with onion rings which they said were great! There were three other tables of two each during lunch and that's about the maximum capacity for the Grotto. Melissa took each of our photos at the tables and hanging over the railing - which meant four separate times she had to run down and around to take our photos from the bottom looking up! A must stop if you pass through Peach Spring, AZ on your Route 66 adventures. There's a cavern, gift shop, and cafe on site. I appreciate that they have a condensed version of the tour that is wheelchair accessible at half the price. It's obviously not as interesting as the full tour but at least you can go down to the cavern and get a small glimpse of some things. It was fine for my son in his power chair but for those in a manual chair, you may need a bit of assistance as some areas are quite steep. We started with Chris as our guide. My older kids said he was a good guide. Because my younger son and I took the shorter tour, we split with the rest of the group and went back with a guide named Dino. We didn't like him as much because he spoke so fast and walked so fast that we could not understand anything he was telling us (per my 8 year old son - and I concur). He also talked in a rehearsed monotone voice so he didn't seem very interesting to listen to, even if we could hear him. I first came here about 18 years ago, and there have been some changes since. They now have a grotto area where you can dine in the cavern. They also made a deck complete with a couple futons, a bathroom, and a TV if you were interested in staying there overnight. Seems cool, but with people saying there are ghost sightings there, I would be too chicken to go myself... The biggest surprise for me was the restaurant. The food is excellent! I wasn't expecting this in the middle of nowhere. We were heading westbound on Route 66 and in looking at my map, there weren't any other restaurants along the road, so I decided that we would just grab a bite there after our tour. The menu is pretty limited, but what they do have they do really well. My family had the burgers, and I had the chicken sandwich. The food took a while (because there was only one guy cooking during the lunch rush) but in watching the cook, he was taking great care in preparing the meals. The burgers were fresh beef - I sat him getting fresh balls of ground beef and putting it on the grill and smashing them down into patties. They are served on ciabatta rolls with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. My family really enjoyed their meals, and although my chicken breast was on the small side, it tasted really really good! They also offer free charging for electric vehicles. The hotel up front also has cars with a "Radiator Springs" gas station and cars decked out like the Cars characters for photo ops. Definitely a fun way to spend a couple hours along the route. read more

Such a wonderful experience! I just got back from backpacking Havasupai falls, I was exhausted and ended up arriving before my check in time at the Grand Canyon Caverns, I ended up here, I lounged on the deck with a book and a glass of wine! The restaurant manager was so wonderful and even brought me some pasta salad which was to die for!! (Probably best I've ever had not going to lie). Def bringing a container home. Driving down Route 66 we decided to pull into the Caverns to find out if we could eat there. The Caverns were closed, the restaurant just opening. What happened next was a beautiful memory in the making. A very nice man named Don took care of us, he cooked a beautiful meal, showed us around and was more than a good host. Grotto : Food was good. Clean with friendly staff. cavern tour: Friendly staff, informative. sad though to see expansion of man made structures in the cavern itself. I understand the owners have to make money, but it takes away from the experience of touring the cavern itself. RV/camp ground: Kept Clean. Nice laundry facility. Bathrooms are nice.... Except the shower head dropped/no flow. There is a walking path from the main road/hotel to the back grotto/cavern tour site. Paths are washed out and no signs posted that they have horses/cows roaming free! The motel/entrance by the main road is still well kept.... but the previous owner who had numerous 1950's cars/trucks/scooters sold the property and took all his rides with him. The area no longer looks/feels like the inspiration to "Radiator Springs" for the Disney movie (Cars)! The restaurant attached to the motel is closed and the once quant mini golf course is dilapidated. I hope the new owners returns this magtime read more

We loved the friendly atmosphere and the thoughtfulness of the staff. Reggie, Dino and their Manager Randy were so good! The caverns were and are one of a kind. A truly wonder of nature.
