Great koa. Clean, friendly staff and close to the Grand Canyon. We were happy with our visit.

Me and bae stayed in the standard cabin (#6) for one night in June. Pretty hot in the cabin during the warm months, but it gets chilly at night. There is no AC but they do offer a small fan. Bathrooms are the cleanest I've ever seen at a campsite and are within a short walking distance from every cabin. Overall we had a really nice stay. There's no where really close to eat so you may want to stop somewhere before you reach the site. It's about an hour drive from the Grand CanyonThe beds were much more comfortable than they looked and we actually got the best night sleep there out of all the places we stayed at from our drive from San Diego, CA to Austin, TX! read more

Amazing hospitality! My boyfriend and I were on a road trip in November, and the weather ending up being much colder than anticipated. The room and bathrooms were clean, however we couldn't stay all the nights originally planned. The lady at the desk was so nice! And, a guy who might have been the owner, truly made everything right! LOVED the bathrooms. Nice privacy and clean. Staff was friendly. Disappointed in the lack of a/c in the Kabins. It was 78 when we arrived at 7pm, but our Kabin registered 90. This is a free fix, if they just opened the windows before guests arrive. It didn't cool off inside enough to sleep until the early am, and the low was in the 50's. I'm from Houston, and I keep my household thermostat at 80 in the summer, so typically heat doesn't bother me. This did. read more

Dirt, dust, mold and just worn out. We booked a week long stay here. We were so excited because the pictures look great! Upon arrival we were so disappointed by what we saw, we almost checked out and attempted to go elsewhere. But being that it was a holiday weekend, we couldn't. 1. Anyway, the playground is so rickety that it's really a hazard that should be taken down or tightened up, if possible. The entire structure moves about 4 inches back and forth when someone is swinging. And it's a miracle that the swigs haven't fallen off because the bolts are so loose. 2. The bathrooms in the main building are downright foul. They have attempted to cover up mold growing on the walls with paint; and not just once or twice, probably about 20 times. They are damp, dirty and moldy. The shower curtain is growing something foul too. 3. The grounds themselves are sooooo dusty. And it's so windy there that the dust is constantly being blown around in your face. 4. The tether ball rope was so short (like 3 feet maybe) and the spindle on top was so worn out that you couldn't play the game. 5. I thought that the pool would be a nice touch but it was too windy to use it. 6. There are so many employees here that I'm just really not sure why these problems have been taken care of yet. At any given time while we were there, there were at least 4-6 people "working". And by working I mean driving around in the golf carts looking at peoples camps. 7. The only decent things about this place are: its proximity to the Grand Canyon, the employees are nice and the showers are not coin operated. Overall, I wouldn't waste my money again. There is another KOA outside of Williams on 40 that we plan to check out next time! Or there are a couple nice rv parks in the town of Williams. read more

We loved our stay here for two days. Large family bathrooms and friendly staff. We had site 73 which was on the end overlooking the hills, great location and near the dog area for our dogs. I would stay there again without hesitation. read more

This was our first stay at a KOA. We stayed for one night in the deluxe cabin. I was very pleased! The cabin was very clean and the linens were in good shape. The only thing we were not prepared for was the low ceiling in the loft - challenging for adults! read more

Great place to camp, park is very clean and well maintained, staff is very courtious and helpful. The rustic look of the park blends well with the area and makes you feel like you are at the Grand Canyon. I would highly recommend this park to everyone. We will definatly go back again. read more

So we, my two grandsons, Chloe the Great Pyrenees, and I, had booked a two night stay at the Grand Canyon/Journey KOA because of its proximity to the Grand Canyon, the very reasonable pricing and the fact that Kathy and Steve were both SCUBA divers as I was at one time... and I looked forward to at least talk about diving with some other divers while on this trip. When we arrived late at night, I was surprised to find a staff member on the grounds that showed us to our tent site. I am plagued with bouts of gout that seem to attack for no reason and during our two day drive from Texas I was attacked by another one. Gout can be excruciatingly painful and this attack fit that description and then some. My foot swelled up to twice its normal size and I was pretty much unable to walk without compounding the already excruciating pain and taking a chance on further injury. Seeing that I could not walk, Debbie, the staff member, sat me down at a picnic table where I could elevate my foot and proceeded to help the boys set up two tents, get my air mattress set up and help me to my tent. She also brought us bottled water since we had been unable to find a store open due to our late arrival and our supplies having been depleted on the two day trek. She asked if we needed anything else but at that point the only thing we needed was sleep. After a quiet night of sleep, interrupted only by the pain from the gout, the pain had subsided just a bit and I was able to make it back to the picnic table. At that time, say about 6:30 AM Arizona time, Kathy, the manager of this most excellent, five star campground showed up at our tent site. Apparently Debbie had reported our plight and Kathy came as soon as she found out we were in distress... she was quite concerned. Kathy asked if I took any medication for the gout and I told her I was opposed to prescription drugs due to the myriad of side effects and associated restrictions. That was when she told me of someone she had once cared for who treated it with cherries, almonds and Bragg's apple cider vinegar. Being all about natural remedies, I was excited to hear this. Seeing that I was in no shape to make it to the store and my grandsons were too young to drive, Kathy set me up with a golf cart to get around the campground and showed up within the hour with cherries, cherry juice, a bottle of Bragg's and almonds to help me recover. I must say, the natural cure for gout is much more pleasant and nonrestrictive than the prescription non-cure. Roasted almonds and dried cherries that you chase with black cherry juice... I use it to this day and have had no more painful attacks. I will use this till the day I die. Well... I was hit with another problem when I couldn't start the truck. But that was quickly alleviated when Kathy dispatched Mike, the maintenance guy, to find out what was wrong. Mike diagnosed that my alternator was shot and took me to Flagstaff to get another one. He helped me to install it when we got back since I didn't have all the tools I needed and still could barely walk. As my luck would have it, and since bad luck usually comes in threes, what they call a monsoon there (I thought these only happened in the tropics) came through early the next day. It destroyed both of the tents and soaked everything we had outside. Not missing a beat, Kathy again showed up very early to check on us and seeing that we were wiped out and the tents were destroyed, set us up in one of the deluxe cabins where my bathroom and kitchen trips would be more bearable... all at the same price we were paying for a tent site. She also had everything that had gotten soaked washed, dried and brought back to the cabin. Although we had only made reservations for two nights, Kathy accommodated us for five as my gout took that long to subside. She also made sure Chloe was well taken care of and got frequent trips to the Kamp K9 where she enjoyed playing with Chuck, Kathy's Great Dane. She had some exotic dog chews made from Yak milk which Chloe loved. Every staff member we met... Kathy, Chris, Travis, Chelsea, Peggy, Debbie and Mike were cordial and did everything they could to help and make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible during this unfortunate time. I am very happy we picked the Williams Grand Canyon/Journey KOA and will do so again... hopefully under better circumstances. Our experience could have easily been much worse without Kathy's compassion, love for animals and superior management skills. All of this happened in spite of the fact that neither Kathy nor the KOA was in any way responsible for the rain, the wind, my broken truck or my gout. I definitely will highly recommend this campground to anyone making a trip to the Grand Canyon... or just looking for a five star camping experience surrounded by wonderful five star people. read more

We stayed for 2 nights. The bathrooms were clean, pool was beautiful, playground for the little ones was right across from us. We had a non shady tent site and the friendly staff switched us. No problem. We would stay again and recommend it to family and friends! Thanks!! read more

The last time we stayed here, 4-5 years ago, it was nearly new and still getting settled in. We stayed here for 2-3 nights this past October, and were somewhat disappointed. The grounds themselves are fine, nothing fancy, but it's camping! The restrooms and showers were VERY bad: the shower stalls were cracked and dirty, the walls probably hadn't been painted since we'd been there last time, and things were generally just shabby. When we pay to stay at a KOA we expect a certain standard, and clean tidy restrooms are a must. If they are not then they should not be a KOA. Every time I used one (and I used several different ones during our stay to compare) the floors were awash in hair and water. Sinks were dirty and there was a general state of disrepair. Very disappointing, given how nice they looked on our previous visit. I don't know if this location has changed owners or what, but the lack of pride is obvious. Step it up Williams KOA! read more

Grounds needed weeding. Internet was very bad. When we asked why it was very sporatic, we were told that there we are a lot of teenagers in the camp that used it a lot. Very poor excuse. We weren't trying to download anything; just needed to check email and bank balance, etc. Needs to be upgraded. TV wasn't that great either. Laundromat didn't have enough machines. I will not recommend this KOA to anyone ever. read more

The new deluxe cabins were fantastic. Beyond amazing. Every conceivable amenity (Flat screen TVs, Keurig Coffee Maker, fulll kitchen, clean dishes, pans, utensils, and a super clean fridge, your own fire pit and BBQ gas grill). The upstairs loft was LOVED by my kids. If this rating were simply based upon the new deluxe cabins, then it would get a 5-star rating. The cabins were SUPER clean. I'm a neat freak and can't stand any dirt. The place looked brand new. Also, the beds came with their own linens . And get this: The linens were as nice as anything at a choice hotel. I had brought my own linens because I was expecting linens straight out of Motel Six (the kinds that give you the hee-bee jeebies). I left my linens in the car. Unfortunately, the pool was dirty and not very good, however, kids don't really notice the difference. I wasn't exactly grossed out by the pool, but it was clear that chlorine was only used sparingly. The size of the pool was on the small side, however, when the kids all got in the pool, they had a fun time. The most important thing is that kids just like swimming irrespective of how small or dirty the pool might be. There weren't a ton of things for kids to do. They do rent bikes to ride, so that was kind of fun. They did have a neat little panning for gold trough out front, so that was kinda fun too. The game room was small, with only a pool table and a basketball game. Nothing else. In short, there are some things for kids to do, but this will only entertain them for an hour or two. Again, not a bad place to stay, but don't expect kids to be entertained all day if they stay in the camp all day. Most of the staff was nice. However, a male manager (middle aged, bald guy) was INCREDIBLY rude to me. I was utterly shocked at how rude he was. I made a friendly suggestion at the end of my stay (thinking I was being helpful) and he snapped at me like I was a 6-year-old. I'm not exactly thinned-skinned, but was utterly put off by his super lousy attitude. Putting aside the lousy manager's poor attitude, this is still a good place to stay. read more

Great place to stay if Grand Canyon So Rim is your destination. Staff very friendly. Sites spacious. Restrooms are large. The staff needs to clean then more often though. Too many rigs going through here to not check through out day & give through cleaning daily. read more

What a great dael.. Two nights for $99, can't beat it! The bathrooms are super nice and clean. The only disappointment was that we had planned on the dinners, boxed lunches and breakfasts and the two days we were there they were closed. It would've been nice if they noted that the chuckwagon was closed on Wed. and Thurs. I also felt that due to their location it would've been nice if their coffee bar was open earlier than 730am. Many people set off for Grand Canyon early to beat the heat. I also felt the staff were very nice, but they didn't seem to know much about the area. I asked how long it might take from the south rim to Flagstaff and when the visitor center opened at the canyon and no seemed to know the answer. We'd stay again, we'd just make sure we did our research first and not depend on the staff for answers. read more

The staff at this KOA is friendly, attentive and just plain awesome. They keep a nice store and clean restrooms, plus they deep fried some yummy turkeys for picking at the day before Thanksgiving. They also had a full dinner spread on Thanksgiving Day which looked great, though we had other plans. Our kids enjoyed a flashlight lollipop hunt as well as the go carts. The campground is dirt and gravel, kinda dusty, but you just can't beat the location for driving into Grand Canyon National Park in less than an hour and getting to the Polar Express in town within 10 minutes. read more

went for the weekend to explore the grand canyon and should have camped at the grand canyon !!Located close to a road so hear cars all night long.Tent sites are on top of one another.Only 3 showers for the whole place and they are dirty as well.And, the wifi is not reliable and forget about phone service.The hot tub has only 1 working jet.Game rooom closes at 8 pm. read more
