I have eaten here for years. The service is just great, the owner and workers are always willing to bend over backwards to make sure you get exactly what you want. They are kind, engaged, I just really enjoy their enthusiasm. As for food: This is the best chinese food in Placerville/D. Springs in my opinion. Also, the resturant is always clean and the decoration is always on point. Full marks. I love going there. I hope it never closes. I really liked it here. Very chill and pleasant ambience. Surroundings outside very clean in a nice, safe shopping area/strip mall. Staff are friendly, efficient and attentive. They check on you often. Came here for a lunch on Saturday noted their lunch menu is 7 days a week. Great value! Served with tasty, great flavored wonton cabbage soup. Also had a fried egg roll, crispy cracker and slice of orange on the side. I really enjoyed my order. I ordered the Hunan beef rice plate with fried rice. Lots of thinly sliced tender well prepared beef. Really liked the flavor which was more like sweet and sour flavor and a bit of spice. Great portions. A Hunan specialty restaurant may serve this dish with a lot more spiciness but that's sometimes too much. Even got some mushu pork to go. Easy to get to from Pollock Pines via Pleasant Valley when 50 is crowded from Apple Hill visitors. We will be back! Highly recommended! Oh and it's very close to Rove Boba! They have a fabulous lunch deal ...30 items or so .. the portion are a wee bit smaller than dinner for a good bit less money. Lunch portion is large enough to take away another meal !! There are several Chinese restaurants that we patron between Cameron Park and Pleasant Valley......Grand China is our favorite. Either on the phone or walking in, the customer service is prompt, friendly and welcoming. Our usual is pork fried rice, orange or general chicken and pork chow main. All are delicious. Their walnut shrimp, egg foo young is also a winner. Today I ordered their hot and sour soup. Filled with tofu, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and other vegetables and egg. Just discovered this gem in Placerville! Mu shu shrimp and Salt & Pepper Pork Chops are my favorite with Garlic Green Beans. Yummy! A big second and my families' favorite is the Sweet &Sour Pork! The schezwan chicken was a solid 3 but the service is 5 stars. The guy is super helpful. He recommend me the orange chicken or sesame chicken but I took a shot with the schezwan. If I'm ever in the area, I'll go back and try something else read more

Got broccoli beef which also has zucchini so good with the extra veggies. Kung Poa chicken was big portion of chicken but will ask for extra bell peppers or to add veggies to this one but great flavor. Chow mein with the thick noodle was a win. The pork fried rice had a liberal helping of soy sauce that I didn't care for but the hubby loved it. Overall definitely will be going back again and branch out to other dishes. read more

So I'm being generous and rounding up. It really should be a 2.5. I would never come back but only because the food was meh and I like Golden Dragon better (not by much, this is Placerville). Heck, Panda Express tastes better, but not the Placerville location because they don't know how to do anything right when it comes to ethnic foods . The service was nice and friendly enough. They seemed to like my 5 year old. They did forget the BD's coke but seemed genuinely apologetic when we reminded them. The amount of food for the price is very generous. For $7-8 you get an entree, a spring roll, rice, and soup. It's a lot of food. It's definitely more of a quantity over quality place. As for the food, everything came off sweet. From the crab and cheese wontons to my general Tao chicken. Kiddo's sesame had barely any sesame seeds. All the sauces were incredibly thick and goopy. They didn't have chili oil but carried the red garlic chili paste (sambal). The fried rice was rice with brown sauce and a couple pieces of red pork. No veg or egg. They did have a few tables on a Sunday lunch, probably because they were the only ones opened by 11 today. If you like cheap tasting and cheaply made and cheap meals that are generous in quantity with ok service , this is the place for you. read more

All the wonderful flavors combined perfectly and the steamed rice absorbed all the deliciousness, so wonderful! Truly the worst chinese food in town. Egg flower soup was awful, no flavor the eggs looked funky and who puts tomatoe in egg flower soup. General chicken was not typical general chicken, it tasted like it was boiled in water and sauce poured on top. Grand China is hidden in the back portion behind McDonald's but don't let deter you. This place is clean, well cared for and the service is amazingly quick! The food is fresh and I was shocked to see the portion size for lunch!!! I will be telling everyone's about these portions!! I had brocolli chicken and loved it.
