Okay, so I was craving shrimp fried rice and I didn't believe I had found a place to be really good around here until now. I went against the 3.5 rating and was like I'll give them a shot (seeing that they are right up the road from me). I called and the lady was able to talk to me about the variety of fried rice options they had on the menu. I ended up deciding on the Thai fried rice and added shrimp. It is sooooo good! It has some spice and has beef/chicken with my shrimp addition (I didn't even need the chilli oil or soy sauce). They are very friendly/welcoming & the food was fresh and seasoned very well. My spouse and I ordered our favorites at a "lunch special " price, and were not disappointed. The food appeared fresh, and was brought out expeditiously. The service was on point, and our meals were brought out to us, not having to wait for a number to be called. There was no soft drink fountain, only bottled ... acceptable. The ambiance was regretful. No table service, which was understandable, but the layout of the ordering area was concerning. There was no counter ... only folding tables, with a taped menu on a glass partition, or bundled on the table. Not exactly business-looking, but more like cutting corners. Their lunch menu includes an egg roll and soup. It came out out and delicious. My wife and I recently ordered shrimp egg foo yang. It came out on a gigantic plate with three patties. It was the first time if have had this dish with the sauce infused with large shrimp, mushrooms, chestnuts, carrots and Snap peas. Wow, for $11.95 we were both stuffed. Since initial review I have returned 3 more times and it keeps getting better. If you're really hungry get the combo. This has been my go to place for over 10 years. If you want delivery, this is your place. However, if you walk in to place an order, be prepared to feel like you have completely interrupted them. If you're looking for a Chinese fix in Humble area, Grand Garden can fulfill your need. From the looks of the other reviews it's a hit or miss, and my experience was a hit! It's a smaller restaurant but can accommodate groups. So what to order? The fried crab puffs are good starters for the table, it comes in a generous size and very tasty. Chicken with black mushroom, general tsao chicken, eggplant, sweet and sour chicken, and the dragon chicken are delicious entrees all around. My favorite is the chicken with black mushroom and the sauce for the eggplant dish. All came with a bowl of rice. The group made the mistake of ordering a plate each, but the portions are big enough to share as family style, so if you go with a group, you can order a couple of dishes and you're set for the table. House sitting for my Aunt in Eagle Springs and she left me the menu so rather than venture out and have to put on acceptable clothes instead of PJ's I called this gem for delivery. I ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein and Crab Puffs. They told me it would be about 30-45 minutes but they got here in 20 minutes! Lo Mein was piping hot, flavorful, and had large perfectly cooked shrimp. Sometimes the shrimp are overcooked and just taste like those little wax bottles you'd thought it would be fun to chew on as a kid but these were juicy and flavorful. Lots of veggies also in the Lo Mein which added a nice crunch as well. The Crab Puffs were pretty good as well but I prefer my filling to be less sweet and not as runny but still were better than I've had at some other places around here. I'm not sure why people give this place such bad reviews but I have been ordering from here for a few years and the food always arrives hot, fresh, and delicious! I order directly from them, they have their own delivery service so the prices are reasonable. Anywho, I'm a foodie that loves all Asian cuisine so I know what I'm talking about. And as much as I like to stick to a keto diet, this place is definitely worth the extra carbs. My favorites are the crab puffs, fried rice, jalapeño fish, and general tso shrimp. We're on a quest to find good Chinese food in the Humble/Atascocita area and this was the most recent. Have to say it falls to the bottom of the list. Should have been suspicious when there was nobody in the restaurant at 5:30 on Saturday. We tried sweet and sour shrimp - it had so much breading it was like a corn dog. So most of that dish was just thrown away. And we don't waste food. The won ton soup was pretty good and probably my favorite item. We got the most bang for our buck from the shimp lo mein. We had it for lunch the next day. Soft shrimp spring rolls were fine. Shrimp were cut in half and most of the filling seemed to be iceberg lettuce. Crab puffs were also fine - sweet cream cheese filling and a bit of crab. The cashier was quite pleasant and the restaurant was clean. Just wish we had enjoyed the food more. read more

Just picked up to lunch specials from grand Garden. I purchased the sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. This is the best sesame chicken I've had in Houston so far.
