I really like this hotel they have a grand entrance with stairways on both sides, full bookcases in the lobby, & customer service was nice. They have a huge indoor pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not filled on our stay. They have a lot of table and chairs to sit around the pool area. This location is across the street from Hinckley casino if you like to gamble it's a short walk. The casino also has 21 and older swimming at night! The hotel room is average. I did sleep well. I like how they have a mini fridge & microwave in the room. There is no breakfast. They do have a coffee pot in the room. Their showers work well. We pre-booked on Expedia for about $85 and when I asked the hotel guy how much the average room is he said if we just walked in off the street it could be as much as $400 if there's an event going on! read more

Stayed in one of the refurbished rooms on a Friday night. The changes and upgrades to the rooms are nice and clean room with that "new car" smell. The TV is so nice upgrade to be able to watch the Wild game that was broadcast. Price seems to have gone up. And be aware that things are still under construction. read more

1st off, I hate casinos. My husband hates casinos. We don't gamble, the sounds annoy us, the smoke smells is gross and we find them overall a desperate and depressing atmosphere. However, there was a concert we really wanted to see, and of course it was going to be at Hinckley. So we bit the bullet, bought the tickets, reserved a king room and booked dinner at the steakhouse. We arrived promptly at 4pm after a 1.5 hr drive. We had a quick pleasant check in, got into a super gross elevator and then entered our very nice, modern, clean room, with a bed so comfortable my husband tried to figure out the brand for future home purchase. What a pleasant surprise. We got settled in and ready for dinner. Walked down through the only slightly smokey casino to the steakhouse, where again we were pleasantly and promptly seated in a nice big both and had a very nice dinner. But Hinckley, if you're reading this, scallops don't belong in a boat of gravy. Back to the gross elevator to drop off some leftovers in our room's fridge and head to the show. A quick walk and we were there. Entry lines moved quickly and staff was on point, keeping the crowd moving without being aggressive or rude. Drink line was a little long, but I've seen worse at Sam's Club. Easily found our seats, they are benches with backs and I really liked that for an outdoor venue. Other amphitheater shows I've attended have janky folding chairs getting moved and knocked all around and causing generic chaos. Amazing show, good sound. After the show, again, easy walk back to the casino. Things were going so well we even stayed in the bar and met up with some friends before going back to our room. It was a little smokey and loud but still better than anticipated. Again, Hinckley if you're reading this you need better wine selection in the casino bar. The restaurant had a decent wine list though. So, that's my review. Chic who hates casinos goes to casino and has a better experience than expected. If they booked another artist I wanted to see I would do it again. read more

Price is decent for a room and the room is average. We were pleased with the cleanliness. Beds were ok if you like soft mattresses. Pool was too crowded and it was a bit noisy at night with kids running down the hallways at midnight. Good place to stay if you love casinos. read more

I mean, I was really expecting much worse because of the $49/night group rate I got for a retreat that was taking place in Hinkley. I was worried that anything at that rate would mean I should bring my own sleeping bag and maybe skip a shower the next day. To my great surprise, it was a decent stay. Actually, the bed was comfortable! Ok, the sink had a slow drain, but the space was clean, the cable worked, and I got a good night's rest on that King bed, so I'm going solid 3 stars on this one. My biggest complaint would be that they have smoking rooms on the other wing of the building... yep, you heard me alright, SMOKING ROOMS. Which means that I could smell smoke in the lobby area. Otherwise, what a pleasant surprise of a place. And, for that price, I would definitely go back. read more

We went to a concert at the casino and did not want to drive back after. I thought this place would b nice but it was not what I expected at all. The room was 400 a night so that was a bit ridiculous. The room was very outdated and clearly needs some upgrades. New bedding, curtains, and carpet would be a good start. The cleaning wasn't great. When we walked in the beds were made sloppily and off from the base. The bathroom had visible dirt and drip spots that needed a god scrubbing. Room 358 in case they see this! No breakfast of any type. Also no bathroom fan. Staff at desk were friendly that's about all they have going. For 400 a night I would have liked to have been wowed by something! read more

Room is amazing if it was 2005. Tv is about the size of a computer monitor, I cannot find an exhaust vent in the bathroom. Small storage for clothes in the room. The television is not a smart one so don't plan on watching any streaming service you dig. read more

I ended up liking this hotel (the hotel, NOT the casino) much more than I expected. When I walked up to the entry doors, there were big signs saying "now entering a non smoking environment" - well, upon entry I was punched in face, repeatedly, by both the Marlboro Man and Joe Camel. In theory the hotel is non smoking but in practice the lobby reeks of it. I was concerned. However, my room and the hallways were just fine. I detected a faint (very faint) smoke smell in my room but frankly that could have come from me walking through the casino. Everything was clean - fairly basic, but clean. It reminded me of a Hampton Inn. Wifi is free and worked "ok". Air con was very quiet too. Walls are thin so you will hear neighbor noise but I got lucky and didn't really have issues there. Staff is generally very nice too - when I checked in the nice young man looked positively horrified by my rate of $59/night and told me if I signed up for the players club he could get it to $25(!). I'm expensing it, but appreciated the offer. There are not restaurants in the hotel proper so you do have to enter the casino for that. I wouldn't choose to stay here because I'm neither a gambler nor a smoker but it ended up being just fine. Also - the hotel partners with a local organization that helps folks with mental and physical disabilities find jobs, so that's pretty cool. read more

We got to the hotel about midnight on 11/04/2023. I was in the bathroom and saw a bug crawling up the wall.. Other hotels I've stayed at if you called the front desk and asked if you can have a little extra time after check-out time they don't charge you. Here they charge $10 for a hour past check-out time. NEED MORE PILLOWS ON THE BEDS. Will not stay here again. Plus there is no way to get a hold of the front desk. You have to go through a 2nd party if you want to ask a question. read more

The day I made reservations I was told that we would be able to get into our rooms after 11 o'clock. We Made our reservations over the phone. The day of check in we arrived around noon. I over heard the receptionist telling someone over the phone that they were slammed the night before with customers. The plan was to get rooms cleaned and available to those that had checked in over the website first. We needed to check in as soon as possible to get ready for a wedding. I proceeded to check and pay for a room. I was told it could be at least two hours before we could get in to a room. I was thinking it would be a situation, where as soon as a room became available, they were going to let us in to a room. The reality being that we were going to have to wait and I did wait four hours before we could get into a room. We ended up changing in a bathroom did not get into a room or was notified until after we had already left and we were at the event that we were scheduled to be at. My thought is that if you have customers waiting and they are at your establishment, they should be your highest priority not people that haven't even shown up yet to check in. I had voiced my displeasure. I had also checked in with the reception desk periodically during the hours that we waited to see if anything had become available. They did nothing to make the situation better. I fully understand the check-in isn't until four at this point, and was lied to about being able to get in sooner. Please keep that in mind if you were thinking about this type of hotel, and if you get told that you could check in sooner, it will be a lie. read more

(annoyed) Parking was free, but kinda annoyed that I couldn't temporarily park in front while I checked in... and that the parking lot seemed very full, so naturally I had to park at the very end of the lot. (bummer on a Weds Spring afternoon) Check-in - - The gal who checked me in was about as friendly and personable as a q-tip. It wasn't that busy... but she was very blah and procedural with me. Was surprised to see her name tag showed that she worked there for 3yrs. Maybe she was having a bad day... but i certainly did not feel any warm or fuzzies, or hospitality. (But then again, what should I expect for a $49 room, right?) Room: Standard 2 queen beds, no frills, nothing fancy in this room. I asked for a room w/ 1 bed, and it wasn't available. Room seems slightly larger than your average hotel room. Basic amenities. Small Hamilton Beach coffee maker. Basic bathroom toiletries. Standard hotel bed linens. Fridge & microwave in room. Lighting is adequate Free WiFi in room. (And it actually works) Heater seems to be working fine so far, nothing too noisy. So... yes, I'm staying here for a quick work trip in the area. We came to Grand Casino Hinckley to watch the Chinese Acrobats of Hubei that were performing there a few weeks ago. It was in celebration of my daughter's birthday, so we decided to make it a special weekend by "sleeping over" the night before. In looking at the web site, we got one of their package deals, the Grand Family Escape. For $86.50, you get: * One night accommodation in a standard room * In-room movie (adult movies not included) * $20 pizza coupon valid at Cherries Grill * 4 Cherries coupons valid for any size ice cream cones When we arrived to check in, the first thing I noticed was the cigarette smoke in the lobby. It occurred to me that being a sovereign nation, they don't have to abide by the State of Minnesota's Clean Indoor Act law. As bad as the main floor was, I have to say, however, that the non-smoking rooms were truly non-smoking. There wasn't any trace of cigarette smoke where we slept, which was a pleasant surprise. I am allergic to cigarette smoke so I can usually tell if a room was converted from smoking to non-smoking. This one wasn't. The unfortunate thing is that we asked for a portable crib for my young son to sleep in and either the crib or the bedding came from a smoking area of the hotel. I had to remove items one by one until it didn't bother me anymore. The free pizza we got from Cherries Grill was decent, although Cherries was hidden in a remote corner of the casino floor. My wife and I got burgers and let the kids have the pizza while we watched our free movie, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. The burgers were a bit dry and VERY expensive. $4.50 for a bacon cheeseburger with *no* fries. Not worth it. Aside from the lack of fresh air, the hotel was very well kept, had good friendly service staff, and could compete with any 5 star hotel around the country. Unfortunately, the cigarette smoke was a deal breaker for me. All weekend, walking through the lobby and the main floor to get to the pool, Cherries, and the performance, the cigarette smoke was too much. If we come again, we'll be staying at the Grand Hinckley Inn. Since it is not attached to the casino, it shouldn't have the same problem as the main hotel. Overall, a fun weekend with the kids, but I would have had a much better stay if the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe had their own Clean Indoor Act. read more

The Grand Hinckley Inn is on the property of the Grand Casino Hinckley, between the RV Park and the casino itself. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the casino, across the parking lot, or you can take the shuttle bus which comes by a couple times an hour. The hotel isn't a bad place overall, but it definitely has some positives and negatives. First, the good points: * Non-smoking rooms are available -- however, the whole hotel has a funky, odd smell which is probably just transference from the casino. * Free continental breakfast which is served from 7 to 10, and it's ample and plentiful. Even at 10:00 there were plenty of sweet rolls, muffins, fruit, cereal, toast, milk, and juice. * Swimming area (though I didn't swim there) which appeared to be pretty busy. Please note, however, that the pool is closed each week for cleaning and chemical treatment from 10 PM Tuesday night untl 4PM each Wednesday. * Generally clean, non-scary rooms, with working A/C. * Excellent front desk and housekeeping staff. * Nice library area where you can sit which also serves as overflow for the coninental breakfast. * Ice and vending on each floor. The negatives: * Wi-Fi. Yes they have it, but, you can only get it in the center area of the hotel. Come on, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, can you not afford a couple of enterprise-class routers so that you can get wi-fi throughout the hotel? Nothing is more annoying that having to leave your room to get on the wi-fi. * Room furnishings and amenities. The rooms are equpped with a bed, a table for the TV, and a nightstand or two. Oh, and a hair dryer in the bedroom. But, really, is it too hard to put a dresser in the room? An ironing board? And refrigerators and microwaves, which are pretty common hotel amenities, are only available in suites. Also, in a casino hotel, one would expect in-room safes. * Linens. There was one towel, one face towel, and one washcloth per person. They also werent that aborbent. I would have liked more. So, overall, it's a clean but low-amenities hotel. If i were back in Hinckley, I'd probably stay at the Days' Inn or the Super 8 before staying there. With that said, if you need to stay on casino grounds, it's not a terrible option. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could, but I'm in a generous mood and will round up to 3. read more

Beautiful lobby and rooms were nice and clean. Had a great swimming pool area and a shutter that takes you to the casino which has a small gym decent but not a five star gym. Had a Spa for those who need a nice relaxation day which the other gamble. The bad part about this hotel is their breakfast I know they can improve that part. Terrible casino for comps.. I can say that out of 6 Twin Cities Casinos' this place is the worse! If you receive a FREE night, you are rarely able to get the room. Comps for gambling are by far, the lowest I've seen out of any casino. As far as the rooms are concerned, I would give them 1 stars at the Casino itself & 0 stars for the dumpy hotel they own down the Street "Northern Inn" As far as gambling here is concerned.... it's not bad. They've recently done some updates to the rooms. There are a few lodging choices for Grand Casino - this is for the Hotel attached to Casino. The pool area is closed and being remodeled. We stayed on the 10th floor, which was very quiet. Looks like new bedding and new beds. No Pets allowed - they do have a free outdoor kennel which could be used in summer months. First come first served on kennel. They lock the door and you find the security guard to open so you can take pet for a walk. Free valet parking. Breakfast is in the casino. read more

I just called the 1800 number for some information about an event and reached Peggy. I've worked service jobs before and know they can be thankless and frustrating and I do my very best to be cheerful and understanding. With that said, there is a point where you are the person assigned to answer the phone to answer questions and you just can't keep yelling at someone and huffing and puffing. Clearly I was not going to get my question answered so I finally asked if there was someone else there that might know the answer, I didn't ask for a supervisor. This past April I stayed at the Casino to celebrate my dear frieds 60th birthday. We had a great time! When we left the next day I left a necklace behind that had alot of sentimental value to it. I called the Casino that night and the next day followed up - my necklace was found (along with a stray shoe) and mailed back to me. What great comfort knowing that the Casino employes honest people. Worst hotel ever! Wifi was advertised on their website, however, only in lobby and 'maybe' in rooms right next to lobby. Who wants to relax in their PJs and surf the web IN THE LOBBY??? Went into our nonsmoking room and after throwing off the gross bedspread, found that the blankets on the beds had cigarette burns! Totally disgusting. Worse part was being woke up several times during the night with bugs crawling on me. Spiders and god knows what else they were. Needless to say we got the heck out of there as early as we possibly could in the morning. I would have been better off in a tent! Filled out their comment card with all these issues. So far haven't heard a word from anyone and it has been a week. Please choose to sleep in your car or a tent instead of this hell hole! read more

We like going here. The rooms are clean most of the staff is very friendly and they have reasonably priced food options. They also had child care for my toddler at reasonable price so we can eat dinner in peace or gamble or get a pedicure or massage at the spa. My teenage son typically enjoys the free wifi unless we are swimming so that works for him. read more

We have been patrons of Grand Casino since it opened up. Unfortunately, we will no longer be. The machines were tight, no one was winning. The carpet in the elevators to the hotel was FILTHY. The rooms off the west elevator haven't been updated in years. We had cobwebs hanging all over the place and the carpet tiles in the room should have been replaced prior to having the pattern worn off. Very disappointed. Had to take a king room in smoking if we wanted a king room. We were told they would have an air purifier in our room, it didn't happen. Internet was on and off for the hour we tried to access things. Very disappointed and will stick to Mystic Lake. Their rooms are very nice and you even get a Keurig coffee maker. The casino at least lets you play a little on your money compared to Hinckley. read more
