    Fresh naan

I've been here a total of three times for lunch buffet, each time bringing along someone over 70 that had never had Indian cuisine before. They all were wary at first but they all loved it! Having lived more than 10 years of my life through Central and Southern California where there's an abundance of ethnic foods to try, I was thrilled when this place opened. I hadn't had Indian food in a good 7 years! This did not disappoint. If you've never tried Indian food, buffet is the way to start. Most items on the buffet are gluten free and they are awesome about answering allergy questions and accommodating customers with menu items. The buffet changes daily giving you an opportunity to try new things along with favorites you'll discover. Different rices, noodles, veggies, chicken, goat or lamb, salads, chutneys, desserts, yum! The food is super fresh and packed with flavors you might not be able to identify but can't stop eating.and their fresh naan, I wish I could have gluten! Looks, smells, and I've been told is delicious! Very reasonably priced. It's very clean, modern yet comfortable and relaxed. The service is wonderful and they don't rush you out the door like many places.

5 out of 5! No doubt. My favorite restaurant in Amsterdam! Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, delicious food, super affordable, love the buffet... I can't say enough. It's a must try- especially if you're a vegetarian, like myself.

I do hear that they only do takeaways and there's no tables or chairs. The chicken Tikka masala curry has been a big hit both times, and the enjoyment of the incredibly rich and creamy sauce and flavourful chicken keep me from wondering about the calorie count = it's THAT good. I look forward to trying any number of things on my list off their menu, including biryani and samosa.

Another thing - ambiance is not on the menu. I counted about 8 chairs altogether, semi scattered between 2 tables...but it's not about that, it's about the food. The food is very good, hitting all the comfort food vibes. It's also offered at a bargain price. Garlic naan and chicken tikka - slightly crisp and smoky on the outside and light (naan) or tender and juicy (chicken) on the inside. The tandoor oven and the experience of the cooks crafted those dishes to a very high level. The palak paneer seemed plain at first but subtler spicing came through the more I consumed/shoveled it in my mouth. I love places like this. Pretentiousness is nowhere in sight. There's a hardworking honesty to the place and they feed their clientele well made and generous portions.

I found this place on Google which turned out to be such a hit. We tried calling in our order multiple times but always got a busy signal so we placed our order through Seamless and it was ready for pick up in 25 minutes. The portions here are large and the food is delicious! The chicken/gyro and rice platters are similar to NYC halal platters with large chunks of meat. The "crispy cheesy naan" is more like crispy cheesy paratha (flaky flatbread) which was yummy. The pita is also thick and fluffy! My group also loved the salads and falafel. The Mediterranean food here seems more authentic but they also have a kids menu with cheese pizza and chicken fingers, etc.

Meat was average. Salad was very fresh but pickles do not belong in a Greek salad. Replace with grape leaves. Lettuce also doesn't belong in this salad. Cheap canned black olives. Chicken over rice was good. Chicken over salted. Rice average. Garlic naan and pita were excellent. Best part of the meal. Homemade hot sauce also very good. Spinach feta rolls underwhelming. Baklava below average. Taste store bought. Overall food is okay but a little pricey.

Though it does need some attention here and there, such as along the wall next to the table at which I was seated. But don't let things like that take away from the great food here. The lunch buffet (slightly higher price on weekends) has an assortment of vegetable and lentil dishes, several chicken offerings and today a goat dish. Everything I sampled had very strong and distinct flavors. My favorites were the chilli broccoli and the lemon chicken, I needed second helpings of those. The chicken tikka masala will probably be more tender as the day goes on. I thought some of the vegetable dishes and the dal were a bit watery, though still delicious. You get quite a lot of naan (regular or butter naan are offered). Dessert today was a vermicelli kheer with a hint of cardamom, and a very creamy carrot halwa with just the right amount of sweetness. There are quite a lot of Indian restaurants in the Capital District that offer a lunch buffet. I feel this is the best one on the east side of the Hudson River, and a place I'd choose to visit again when I'm in that area.
