Finally a good Indian restaurant in the hood! The space is lively with nice decor and nice music playing in the background. The service was prompt, quick and they are attentive. Coming to food - we ordered Baingan chutneywala and paneer kalonji. The chaat did hit the spot - packed with tangy flavor and eggplant was nice and crunchy! The presentation was lovely too. Paneer kalonji was delicious as well. Their menu does have nice fusion items on top of the traditional dishes. I am planning to come again with friends so we get to try other items in the menu. I hope they maintain good quality and taste. We really needed a good Indian restaurant in Edgewater.

We recently dined at Dharma Indian Bistro and had a great meal. The presentation of each dish was beautifully done, and everything was flavorful and well-seasoned, especially the curries. The goat curry was a standout. The place has a nice vibe without feeling over the top. Good food, good atmosphere, and great service. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Love this great Indian food!! I love how they give you a complimentary sample of the soup of the day and the food is fresh and flavorful! The service is amazing and the best part is that it's BYOB!! There is a parking lot a few min walk away or you can find street parking. Love the decor and food here

Excellent service. Excellent food. I was especially looking forward to trying the delhi ki kachore which I saw a photo of. It was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.

Got dinner from here Sunday night as takeout. Took around 20 minutes for the food to be ready, which was not bad at all. The waiter was really nice and helpful with assisting us in selecting our dishes. We had the chicken tikka masala, goat kalimirch, naan sampler, and chowk ki tikka. Hands-down, the standout was the goat dish and the chowk ki tikka appetizer. The appetizer was truly a step above all the other food we tried. It was completely out of this world with flavor. It was a mix of potato and goat cheese, but mixed with spices, fresh fruits, like pomegranate, and lots of different textures I would go back and get two of these!! The goat dish entrée was also really good. The meat itself was soft and tender. The chicken tikka masala was great as well just did not live up to the other dishes that we tried. We got a side of the naan sampler which is a classic when getting Indian takeout- fluffy, warm, and perfect for dipping. The inside of the restaurant had super cute decor - I can see this being a great option for a casual date or group/family outing.

Had a wonderful dining experience here! The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the soft background music created a relaxing atmosphere. The food presentation was flawless--truly 10/10. Every dish, from the appetizers to the entrée, and even the kheer for dessert, was absolutely delicious. They were also very accommodating with dietary preferences and spice levels, which made the experience even better. Will definitely be coming back!

This place hits all the right notes to make your culinary experience memorable. We visited this place during the memorial day weekend. The pleasant and top notch service that accompanies the wonderful food hits it out of the park. Flavorful, amazing balance of fresh spices and the balance of palates, is a sure sign of wonderful, passionate and skilled chef and his staff. Though the place is not that big, its ambience is welcoming and tastefully done. The dessert paan ice cream along with the gulag jamun and ras mali were superb, true icing on the cake for our lunch. A true 5 star !

Although we were the only diners at the time, the phone rang nonstop with takeout orders--a clear sign of how popular this place is. The food was absolutely magnificent, and I'm so glad we chose this spot. I started with the butternut squash soup, which was divine. They give you a full bowl, and it was so satisfying I almost didn't need a main course. My sister had the lentil soup, which was equally delicious, with a bright, lemony flavor that really stood out. My aunt ordered the chicken samosas and loved them. Watching my Aunt Daisy enjoy Indian food was honestly hilarious--this is a woman who usually sticks to rice, beans, and steak, yet she couldn't stop talking about how much she loved it. For my entrée, I had the butter chicken: incredibly tender, with a creamy yet light sauce--absolutely delicious. My aunt and sister both had the shrimp tikka, which was a total triumph. My cousin Mercy ordered the chicken tikka and loved hers just as much. Our waiter was incredibly sweet, helpful, and patient, explaining the dishes and even taking a photo for us. We'll definitely be back when we have more time and don't have to rush out. This place is a gem.

The Spinach Soup was a great opener--smooth, well-seasoned, and full of bright, comforting flavor. Shrimp Balchao was the highlight. The Garlic Naan came out fresh from the tandoor--soft, lightly charred, and packed with garlic. Ideal for soaking up all the sauces. Mutter Paneer, with tender paneer and green peas in a spiced masala, was creamy and fragrant without feeling too heavy. A classic dish executed really well. Nani's Chicken Curry featured tender chicken simmered in a flavorful blend of spices and onions, with rich, layered flavors that built with each bite. Unfortunately, the service significantly took away from the experience. We made a reservation ahead of time and even called to let them know we'd be about 15 minutes late, yet when we arrived, we were told our reservation had been given away. That was frustrating and set a poor tone for the evening. The restaurant also seemed very understaffed the night we went. Service felt disorganized, and there was a long wait for our food after we were finally seated. It was clear the staff was overwhelmed. The food is absolutely the reason this isn't a lower rating, because there's real potential here. But between giving away reservations and the slow, disorganized service, the overall experience fell short. Hoping this was just an off night because the food deserves better execution.

Its a very small restaurant, limited seating. Hot and sour soup was good, and chicken lollipop was ok ( could use more flavor) . The entrees both use a meatball type of thing as the protein, and was not good at all. The portion of the dishes was so small. The chili dry had more of black pepper taste than anything. There was also a plastic taste in it ( im assuming they store the sauce in a plastic container ?) The sczechuan chicken had a tangy and strange flavor. The hakka noodles had absolutely no flavor but the only thing with a decent portion. Awful food, so mad we spent $75 here ( which is so not appropriate for the location and food). So disappointed.

Insofar as the roti resembled the buttery, flaky layers of a white roti, this was a pleasant order. The roti here are made with whole wheat, which made for a grittier texture that felt...healthy, for all the good and bad of that word. But they were sufficiently buttery, which always helps things. And minor quibbles aside, this was still a fantastic vessel to scoop out every last smear of the tikka masala sauce. Clearly, we liked the chicken tikka masala. With a fragrant, velvety sauce and large chunks of tender chicken, after a few bites of this dish, I found myself announcing to the table, "I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't like Indian food." The chana masala - our other entree - was a little more muted and tomato-forward, but still fantastic. It feels strange to leave praise for rice, but judging from the sheen at the bottom of our rice dish, I suspect they melted and mixed some butter to it (which, again, no complaints here). Service was chill on a Sunday afternoon.
