Recently my family and I ate at the grand international buffet in hopes of good food. Unfortunately most all chicken dishes were so dry leaving less dishes to choose from. The egg rolls were excellent but the crab rangoon were like bricks! Egg drop soup was delicious and the salad bar, too. This buffet is hit and miss, so go with an open mind. I really debated between a 3 and 4 star rating for this fairly typical Chinese buffet. This is a good, likable Chinese buffet. It's not amazing but it's not bad at all. (The 4 stars reflects the buffet category specifically, it would definitely not be 4 if compared to all restaurants ever.) We were on a road trip so we didn't try any uncooked items offered aside from some fruit and the soft serve ice cream. And that was actually one of the reasons I went for 4 stars over 3! The ice cream was really, really, unusually great. Very flavorful chocolate and vanilla. Normally I skip this aside from stealing a bite from my husband but after trying his, I got my own bowl and finished it: unheard of! General's chicken was really crispy and appealing to me when it was fresh. Same with the Hawaiian chicken although it was a tiny bit over cooked. Both were soggier and meh when sitting out a bit. Green beans were very very garlicy and I loved them. Chicken and broccoli was pretty good, mostly ate the broccoli. Sweet n sour chicken was actually quite great for that type of dish, and especially so for a buffet. Fairly tender chicken and had a very fresh taste to it and the batter. Sweet n sour sauce was a little thicker than I've seen it but it was okay. Beef dishes were just okay to me. Fruit bar looked well kept and fresh and I enjoyed the lychee I had off it. Chocolate cake was really moist and delicious. Carrot cake bite I had of my husbands seemed ok, not great. I appreciated that the cakes were moist. Many Chinese buffet desserts are dry and fairly lame. They had a large variety here and it all seemed fresh. The sucky parts: Lo mein looked like spaghetti so I skipped it. Fried rice looked better with bits of egg but was pretty flavorless. Egg roll was weird. Kind of grey brown in the middle. Sweet n sour soup was thick and kind of cool, and the accompanying soup noodles tasted old. Back to the good: Service was super fast and attentive. I finished my plate and our server immediately offered to remove it. This happened a few times, so kudos for paying attention! If I were in the area again and craving Chinese buffet and coming at a peak busy time- I would definitely return. We have been here for both lunch and dinner during the week. The first time we came in for dinner, they had endless crab legs! They were hot, fresh and very tasty. We definitely got our moneys worth on just the crab legs alone, plus we got to enjoy the rest of their food as well. The sushi is good and tasted fresh. The mussels are really good, and their stuffed shrimp is amazing! Pretty much everything else was good except for the fried wontons... they are very thick and too crispy. Other than that, we loved all the food here. The staff is very friendly. The price is not bad for all the food you get. What a great buffet! A lot of different foods for almost every taste preference. They offer the usual Asian fare & tasty at that...a big rice cooker steamed rice is a nice plus. They also have unique items like steamed pork buns & a great sushi bar. The sushi bar changes with whatever the sushi chef decides to make. The sushi is beautiful and delicious. There is also American foods, like fried chicken, pizza, macaroni and cheese, etc. The salad bar is fresh and bountiful. The desserts are plenty, too, and really good. After speaking with other businesses in the area they report that many cars have been broken into while parked there. So if you eat here you could be taking a risk having your car broken into. Came on a Thursday for a late lunch, thinking this was a Chinese/Asian buffet. Silly me... it's called "INTERNATIONAL" buffet, but seemed to be predominantly typical American favorites (pizza, fried chicken, french fries, lots of desserts, etc.) with less in the way of chinese or asian dishes. We carefully observed what customers were piling on their plates and it was mostly the American favorites, so I can't really fault the establishment. They're going to put out on the buffet tables what people are eating, or they'll lose money. My advice?
