I was a bit cautious because as always there are a few bad google reviews - but as with anything that has reviews sometimes people just come out unhappy. I was in a time bind and Carney's was able to squeeze in my inspection within a 24 hour notice, the fastest of any mechanic in the area for my particular situation. I was quoted $49.95 and the mechanics were helpful and provided professional service. Most of all - after a one hour thorough inspection by Mike (head mechanic I assumed) the charge was still the same price they told me on the phone yesterday; a very honest mechanic. Mike recommended I get a basic vehicle check and the workers were all very friendly and performed excellent work. For that reason I'm giving this shop 5 stars. I'm not from the area, but if I'm ever in Pickney again and need service - I'll come back to Carney's. They assessed my vehicle thoroughly and I will most likely return to get the few tweaks in my vehicle looked at before the next season. Their quotes were very reasonable considering parts and labor and that certified mechanics perform the work. If you get a chance and you're in the area, drop on by!

I gave them my phone number three different times and they still said they couldn't find my contact information to give me an update. I stopped by a few times and they apologized saying they usually don't do business like this but even after the apology months later nothing..? I don't recommend this business! At least do an inspection if you can't figure out how to do electrical.. on a sidenote for the year it was sitting there my 200 something dollar battery was shot!

She was told the break fluid was contaminated and all the rubber seals needed to replaced, quoted her $4700. I was given a rubber seal that could have not possibly came from the cylinder cap. I went home to trim the rubber seal they gave me so it would fit in the cap and came back to find they drove the car out of their garage with no cap on the master break cylinder making it not drivable. Had the car towed to another mechanic who found their claim not to be the case.

Not only was the power steering out, the fluid was all leaking out on to the manifold and was smoking like crazy. That could have led to a fire. I was laughed at . After my third time in with the same issue and a 1400 unnecessary repair. I asked again about the valve and guess what . It was the valve all along. Nothing I said when I took it in was written down or even listened to. I got half my money back but have lost all trust in them!!
