If it were possible to give a negative rating, we would. (Maybe Yelp should introduce negative numbers. Noor Flooring would earn a -10.) Over a month ago, we went into contract with Noor Flooring to install hardwood floors in three bedrooms, a hallway, and a walk-in closet in our recently-purchased home. Varga came to our home, measured for the job and then gave us a price for the job, to which we agreed and after which we paid him a deposit, based on a written estimate. He then ordered the wood, delivered the wood to our home so that it could acclimate for four to five days, and started the work (after a one-day delay, which went unexplained). The morning of the second day that the work was to continue, Varga sent us an email saying that he had underestimated the cost of the job and would not be able to continue it. Yes, an email backing out of work that they had already begun! After bailing out on our job, at no point did Varga call us directly, apologize, try to explain the nature of the error, or suggest any other remedy. Any contractor worth his salt would not have made a basic calculation error in the first place (or might have discovered it sometime during the six weeks between the initial bid and when work commenced). But, ok, we're all human and make mistakes. However, a more ethical person would have been clearer about more specific about what the error was and proposed a way forward that would have preserved the working relationship and ensured that the contracted work was completed, given that he had started the work already. Varga's behavior during this period underscores his core unprofessionalism. He has yet to call us. He has yet to agree to refund our deposit. He has failed to respond to various emails in anything but a cursory manner. So we are left with rugs and subfloors fully or partially ripped up from rooms in our home, rendering those rooms completely unusable. We are unable to fully unpack and our home is in chaos - thanks to Noor Flooring. The situation is irreparable at this point. We would not ever let Varga or his Noor Flooring crew back into our house for any reason whatsoever and are seeking legal action against his firm. They are simply not to be trusted. Consumer beware - run in the other direction should anyone ever recommend Noor Flooring.

Victor came out for the estimate and pointed things out that I never would've thought of. When I told him I was looking to save money by doing as much work as I could myself, he told me what would reduce costs (like removing carpet and as much furniture on my own as I could) and what splurges might not be worth it (matching laminate quarter-round and replacing my trim - I could just re-paint it). After choosing this company for the job, Victor answered additional questions and was very accommodating with scheduling the install. His brother and one other man came right on time yesterday to install. They were efficient (finished in about 5 hours and never took a break!), professional, and friendly. When finished, they asked to make sure things were cleaned up enough for us. They called Victor for me before leaving to ensure I was ok with the price of the job (which was right in line with the estimate given previously), and so I could ask him any questions. Kevin and his team were sent out as sub-contractors for the tile repair. The insurance company paired us with a project manager to handle all aspects of the demolition and re-building of our two bathrooms. Long story short - we had a terrible experience with that project manager, and their other sub-contractors (the electrician, plumber, etc). The ONLY positive experience we had through the entire process was with Love Tile and Marble. Their workmanship was superior. They showed professionalism. And just as important, they showed respect for my home. These guys put down canvas to protect my hardwood floors and wiped their boots on the mat before they came in. It may seem like small gestures. But, through the 3 months of hellish renovations and dozens of contractors in and out of my home, the respectful ones stand out. After choosing my new floor tile, Kevin made suggestions on the pattern because of the imperfections in the tile (1/3 pattern, as opposed to the 1/2 pattern I originally wanted). I agreed with his suggestion and the floors came out beautifully! We also hired him again for other work, since we were so happy with his previous work. Bottom line - Kevin and his team are utterly fantastic. Fair and reasonable prices for top quality workmanship (which I can personally attest - is tough to find these days).
