St Joseph's Pastries - cannoli over custard any day!
Jaclyn C.

Grandma's Bakery is worth a visit if you're ever in the area for some Italian pastries to impress your friends with, or if you're craving for something sweet. I usually end up here by shear accident, and end up spending well over $60 when I walk outta the place. This visit was celebratory, as I was given a raise at work, so my husband picked up some St. Joseph's pastries. The cannoli was the clear winner as I absolutely loved the slightly gritty texture and the little chocolate chips that were like little surprises. They were both light and fluffy, but most importantly - they were FRESH. Supporting Grandma's is like supporting any local business, but Grandma's should continue to be a permanent fixture in the neighborhood for years to come.

Passed by this bakery on the way to see Christmas Lights in Brooklyn. For $4.50 we got a bunch of cookies and hot chocolate. And everything was delicious. I would happily go back and try anything they make. It was Christmas day, so I'm grateful it was open because the food trucks at the Dyker Heights lights were crowded. The bakery itself is small, but packed with goodness. Staff was friendly, and if I'm in the area again, I am trying at least six other cookies.

Delicious, fresh baked goods for reasonable prices. $3 per piece. Lobster tail was full of delicious cream, which wasn't sweet, but perfectly delicate. Chocolate cannoli was standard. The shell could've used more crunch, but that was because that particular cannoli wasn't the freshest. Rum baba with lemon curd was soooo sweet, a good match for someone with a sweet tooth. Very moist and dripping with rum, just how I like it.

Great neighborhood bakery, fair prices, customer friendly hours open early and closes late, nice staff, wide assortment. They are very consistent, well established and very accommodating. You can call and ask to hold those hard to get items that run out quickly and they are proactive to held. Cash or credit same low price. They're are a lot of great bakeries in the area and Grandmas is one of them. Highly recommended.

Haven't tried the V-Day heart cookies yet but I'll be definitely dropping by again next few days!

Update: They just released Valentine Cookies!! Update 2: The girl working there is super nice! Super friendly and welcoming staffs. Cookies are super sweet and tasty. I would definitely return here for more cookies and cake ordering since I've been a long-term customer. 5/5

Rainbow cookies and almond S cookies. Ten dollars for a giant box. Absolutely insanity !

Mini Cannolis and butter cookies

Butter cookies and mini Cannolis were pretty tasty. This neighborhood Italian bakery is small, but filled with all the sweets and pastries we can imagine. Counter person weren't all too friendly and seemed a bit bored as I looked around the cookie display. Bought just about half a pound of the assorted butter cookies and two mini Chocolate chip cannolis. The girl behind the counter stuffed all of it in a paper bag, rather than placing it in a small box. Even though service wasn't great, the pastries tasted good. Four stars in my book.

Great place for desserts. It's an Italian bakery so their goods are made right. Ordered some of their small cannolis and they were sweet and crunchy shell. I ordered their Blackout cake for 2 different occasions- layers of chocolate cake with chocolate pudding in between, so delectable good! Gooey and sweet and not a bad portion. For them to write on the cake, you would have to be there in person, just in case you don't purchase it.

I love coming here for cakes! The chocolate mousse one is really good but the raspberry/strawberry filling made the cake a bit soggy. The mousse was amazing and not too sweet.

Cakes aren't bad. A bit on the sweet side. There's nothing really special. It doesn't feel like grandma baked it, more like hostess did.

Best old-fashioned Italian pastries in Brooklyn. And the brick-oven bread is heaven. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

There's nothing bakery that compares to Grandmas. Every time we come to Brooklyn we have to stop by. Love the miniature Cannolis

I am lucky enough to find Grandma's packaged Italian Cookies at a local deli in NJ. I love them, soft, fresh, light.

First time coming in person (I have been spoiled and a fantastic coworker would bring in different…read moretreats from here on occasion). The space is relatively small, with a line inside and outside and a few tables outside. The length of the line and wait time varies based on the time of day and if you go on a weekday vs weekend. Go early if you don't want them to sell out of anything or purposely go a little later if you want one of their lunch sandwiches on focaccia. I have had the tomato and garlic focaccia twice now and each time it has been exceptional. Minor critique, the slices of garlic could be a bit smaller. I also had the shakshuka focaccia which is divine and I would absolutely recommend both. I need to come back to try their sandwiches as well. I am not a sweets person, but everyone I know loves their pastries. Getting someone a gif tcard here makes for a great gift.

Dropped by Radio Bakery on the Tuesday morning after Memorial Day and the lines weren't too crazy…read more I got there in time to grab some breakfast items and baked goods, and then waited at a table outside for the lunch items to get set out around 11AM. I'm usually more of a savory girlie but all the sweet items we tried were great, especially the rhubarb croissant and the earl grey morning bun. I really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches (smoked salmon and pea/mint/feta were elite) and the artichoke green garlic slice. The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! We'll see :)

Radio Bakery... is perfection. I completely understand the line…read more I first ordered the heirloom tomato & feta sandwich, which was unbelievable. It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it. The chocolate cherry almond croissant... wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates. 5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. Everyone even in line was very nice, the vibes were awesome. I'll definitely be back to try the spicy tofu sandwich and the heirloom tomato tart!

I went to Radio Bakery twice in a week recently and I am not mad about it…read more Loves: + The croissants are so good. Had the blueberry & corn ($9) and seasonal heirloom tomato ($8) and enjoyed them both. + My personal faves are the cheesy pretzel bearclaw ($6.50) and the shakshuka focaccia slice ($9) + Staff is quick and efficient and the long line outside is well organized The reality with Radio at both locations is there will be a wait. Line moves relatively fast but the slowdown is people deciding what to get, so I recommend looking at the menu in advance. Note about food drops: most items drop at 7:30am when they open, but late morning focaccia (eg. tomato & garlic) drop at 10am and lunch sandwiches drop at 11am!
