Here on Holy Saturday to see Colin and Dave. We needed to unwind after a very rough interaction with a family member right before Easter. Plenty of seating available at the high tops and some stools left at the bar. There are two pool tables, with one currently sporting a table tennis top. Or for you young folks a ping-pong table. Here on a very busy Friday night for live music. The bartenders were helping everyone with drinks and food orders. Got the onion rings and a pepperoni pizza. Onion rings were incredibly crispy on the outside with tender onion on the inside. The pizza and a sweet tomato sauce instead of zesty which surprised me. It was good and shareable for 2-3 people. Lots of tvs, darts, pinball and other fun things. read more

This is a neighborhood bar. The drinks are inexpensive and the food was good. I got a cheeseburger with fries. Both were hot and tasty. This is obviously not fine dining but for bar food it was really good. Live music by Wednesday Wine when we came to enjoy the advertised entertainment. Of course, the music was loud as it is a bar. Eldorado's is an overlooked bar. It's located by a few of my favorites. This gets lost in the shuffle. It has good cheap drinks. The service is competent if not cheerful and there's always some crazy patron. If you're on High Street near Graceland it shouldn't be hard to find it. It has the crazy colored sign. The bad thing about is that it's located near many other great bars that I would choose before this. Across the street is Bob's Bar. How could you pass that up. Because of this it's not one of my regular bars. The great thing is they never have a cover. It's not trendy but go to Eldorado's. It's one of the overlooked bars in Columbus. They never have a cover so skip the shit on Park Street. read more

I would come here every day if I could. We had the most amazing experience ever here last night. This is my new favourite local bar - I just wish it wasn't ALL the way up High Street from where I live (but it'd be a quick cab ride, I bet). We aren't drinking this month, but yes, we found our way to several bars last night. A last ditch effort at amusing ourselve amidst our November sobriety, El Dorado made my night completely. It's a hole in the wall bar, and yes there were a bunch of rowdy middle aged locals hanging around outside (I think they were serving beer from a booth/window outside? I couldn't exactly tell what was going on). We walked in to witness a fully packed bar - mostly middle aged and white haired local yokels - dressed to the nines in their own way, and dancing and carrying on to an excellent cover band of the same general age/cultural demographic. The band was truly very good, and it was awesome to watch everyone so thoroughly and uninhibitedly enjoying themselves. A couple funny moments: I went to go to the bathroom, and while I was waiting outside, a drunk older man started leering at me. My boy swooped in and waited with me - then while I was in the bathroom, I heard this woman drunkenly ask him if he was waiting for his "wife." Hit on all around! Haaa. Wonderful. When the boy went outside to make a call, I got asked to dance by several very nice men my dad's age - within like three minutes. It was really very endearing and not at all skeezy - people just wanted to have a good time! I declined and went to find the boy outside, but we really enjoyed spending the next hour or so listening to the band (and not drinking, ftw!). We are DEFINITELY coming back here in December and getting trashed with these wonderful people at this effing fantastic bar. If you like serious local culture, I'd recommend checking out El Dorado - but don't bring in your own element and try to take it over or change it. It's very obvious that this is these peoples' bar. read more

I started going here October of 2018 Great Place to have a drink, listen to some great music and the Burger is sensational. IMO the best night to hear live music with few rare exceptions right now is Monday nights. Its an open mic but the talent playing there is pretty strong. If it wasn't for Bob's being right across the street, Eldorado would have a lockdown on the charmingly strange bar scene that unfolds in this plaza-heavy section of N. High Street. First off, you'll see at least five people on the "patio" smoking cigarettes and drinking beer straight from the pitcher no matter what time of day it may be. Whether these people are unemployed, underemployed, or just don't give a $hit is anyones, but they sure are a feisty bunch indeed. I'd wager money that these are the same type of people that spent their tax refund checks on lottery tickets and faux-leather steering wheel wraps, if you catch my drift. Where they come from is anyone's guess, but they sure are fun to drink with at 3 PM- mainly because there's absolutely no way you'll ever be the drunkest person at the bar. Oh yeah, the bar. About that- it's pretty damn small, the lighting is suited for a hangover, and as you can tell from the small piece of real estate in that Eldorado takes up, it's dinky as well. The tap houses a random mish-mash of domestics and mainstream imports, but I think I may have sighted some type of Great Lakes the last time I was there. There's definitely nothing out of the ordinary about this place. The pizza is average in taste but generally cheaper than most bar/grill type places by a few bucks. Other than that, ehhh. Why anyone would be looking for a drink in this area is beyond me, but if you absolutely have to get your daily dose of grandpa's cough syrup. I'd recommend getting it across the street at Bob's Bar. It is "The Cultural Hub of the Midwest", after all. Top it off with a Barnyard Buster at Tee Jaye's and you've got yourself one hell of an awesomely bad afternoon right there! read more

Eldorado is a true dive bar. In my world, if a dive qualifies for more than 3 stars, then it isn't really a dive. We start an annual St. Patrick's Day crawl here every year and move south on the COTA bus. I've been here a few times outside of that, and Eldorado is just fine. Good for big groups with cheap tastes (and I mean that in the best of ways). Food was actually better than I thought it would be (fries, mozz sticks). Will take the hunger-edge off without grossing you out -- which, given the ambiance, isn't necessarily apparent. Staff is helpful, friendly, and fun. There are weird things for sale in vending machines. There's a stage that probably gets some action on weekends. The crowd skews older, but usually rowdy and intoxicated. Eldorado is the kind of dive bar where stories are made. read more

This is a great dive bar with a friendly crowd. You will find a mix of blue-collar, retiree, and deviants of all sorts who wander in here. It can be a very diverse crowd at times. The staff is super friendly, and if you stop by more than a few times, you will be remembered. The staff also take a keen interest in the business and try to make everyone feel welcome. The weekends can be quite packed, and sometimes makes it a bit difficult to move around. It's easy to strike up a conversation with strangers and have a good time in the company of people who are looking to do the same. There is a bit of a gambling motif, but its mainly from the lottery and scratch-offs For those who smoke, there is a tiny little covered area by the front door. They have a heater and wind-breaks during the winter, which helps tremendously. It can seat about 5 or so, so you will be standing otherwise. I have not looked at the backdoor carefully, but it appears there have been picnic tables that have been recently added. The drink prices are very reasonable; not too expensive, and not super cheap. The mixed drinks do highlight the alcohol, so don't worry about them being watered down. You won't find a light pour here. Standard domestic brews, with a handful of the regular imports. The food is standard american grub. Subs, wings, burgers, fried things. Surprisingly, the Italian Sub is quite tasty, and toasted well, with a good amount of meat. The fried mac-n-cheese might come out of a bag, but it is quick, and the oil appears to be fresh every time I've eaten them. read more

What a lively venue I received free diningdough money (www.dinindough.com, kind of like groupon for restaurants) for doing a promotion and one of the restaurants they had listed was Eldorado's. Once I learned that the place was open until 2am I had to give it a try. So last night after work grabbed my lady and headed over. I did not know the place was a dive bar, but no biggie. There were plenty of patrons and it was one of their karaoke nights so plenty of entertainment. The menu was all bar/appetizer foods. Tried the wings, mini corn dogs, and a burger and fries. The bartender that served us was nice, it was loud though so hard to hear our requests. The food came out piping hot. The wings were pretty tasty. They seasoned the chicken thoroughly, maybe a bit too salty but I don't mind that. The mini corn dogs were nothing special, just mini corn dogs. Same with the burger: not bad, not unique either. The food probably would have tasted better with a few drinks in me, definitely quisine for the heavy drinker. Still a fun, eventful experience. read more

This is your typical neighborhood dive. Checked it out for the first time last night with some friends and we had a good time. The food is just OK- nothing special. The service is just OK- nothing over the top. They had a band playing which was surprisingly decent. I gave three stars because everything is just average. If you're looking for a cheap dive night, it's a good place to go. We enjoyed ourselves and would go back! read more

Solid live music venue with cheap booze, personable staff and a sizeable dance floor. The live music ranges from oldies to blues to heavy metal, and there's never a cover. I know musicians who say they generally treat the bands well, too--always a good sign. The regulars are an eclectic bunch; I have seen more fights in this bar than in all other bars I've been to in Columbus put together, but they were all taken care of quickly before anything got out of hand. I'd steer clear of the food. For better or for worse, Eldorado's is almost always a memorable visit. read more

Only thing good about this bar is the cheap buzz and good laughs at the people who go there. It all starts with the 75 year old owner who dresses like she's a 25 year old vixen. It's hysterical, yet disgusting. Apparently she has a 50 year old daughter who acts the same way. They have a regular crowd, and do have karaoke which can be amusing. Its one of the only places where people actually dance to karaoke. They do have live bands sometimes but nothing extraordinary, most of them don't mic their guitars, and play radio favorite classic rock songs from the 70's and 80's. One thing that is good is that they never have a cover. This place is notorious for having special events like karaoke contests, and costume contests on Halloween. One thing I will say is that they do not have any clue what they are doing when they advertise these things. For this years Halloween costume contest I witnessed the the 75 year old owner get up to a microphone and asked everyone with a costume to get on the dance floor. She then asked two women(not in costume, and had probably been drinking there all day) to come to the stage. They then proceeded to stumble, squint while looking at the crowd, while writing in a notebook. This went on for four songs, about 20 minutes. They then said that they narrowed contest to 10 contestants and were going to ask those with costumes to stay on the dance floor. They only named 7... I will say they have no clue how to run a contest, they should have had everyone form a line and step up to the front and let the crowd cheer and decide. I think it was just there way to give a regular customer a free week of drinking because the grand prize was a $150 bar tab. I wouldn't eat anything at this place...they have weird fryers behind the bar, and they make all of their sandwiches and everything on the same counter they pour drinks. Plus the door is always open if it is packed and above 45 degrees. So there has got to be bugs present. I will say this, if you want to get a cheap buzz on, and see the strangest of characters Columbus has to offer, the El Dorado's is place to go. read more

went in for a little music and very disappointed by "Uncle Eli and The Poets and Woo Band" they played one set and then a 'short break" the short break was at least 45 minutes - since no management was around, and bar staff seemed unwilling/not authorized to get them back - we left , purpose of Eldorado is good music not music once every hour and a half read more
