This was my first time having grandys in nearly 10 years. We used to go all the time in Tulsa and now that there aren't any locations we have to wait until we are in OKC to have that experience. The food was what I remembered and I chowed down on everything that was on my plate. I grabbed a 3 piece dark meat with okra and Mac n cheese and was NOT disappointed by any means. The wait staff was extremely friendly and they made our experience so great on a Saturday night. We were definitely hungry after a 30 min drive and an OU football game so shoutout to that crew! Great customer service!! Food was awesome. We went twice as we stayed at hotel next door. Pot roast was very tasty, hot and very satisfying!! The fried chicken and chicken nuggets were great. The food was putrid, the service was horrible and while waiting in the drive thru line the guy that was moving the yard kept coming back inside the kitchen then back to mow. Sweating and a tank top on while smoking in and out of the kitchen was DISGUSTING!!!! It's extremely dirty and has went downhill over the last few years. Recently visiting family in Oklahoma I had an opportunity to go to Grandy's for the first time in years. I was pleasantly surprised to find them still producing quality comfort food. The country chicken dinner included crispy, bone in fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and kernel corn. They also offer a delicious cinnamon roll as dessert. Toss in a chicken fried steak and other vegetables on menu you find a great casual restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. read more

If you want the closest thing to home cooking, in fast food, Grandy's is the place. I highly recommend their pot roast and fried catfish. Be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes, for the catfish, since they fry it, after you order it. They have a nice selection of sides, and the rolls are good, too. The service was good, too. When I was a kid, I always looked forward to visiting Wichita to eat at Grandy's. But, sadly, Grandy's left Kansas when I was in college. I hadn't eaten at Grandy's in over 25 years--until tonight. My husband and I just had to revisit our old favorite and introduce it to our girls! Most things in life just aren't the same 25 years later. But Grandy's was even better than I remembered! The food was just SO good. I can't speak for all locations, but this one was very clean, even the bathrooms. And the employees were very friendly and accommodating. We have recently been getting their Tuesday & Friday 6 chicken nuggets special. It's $3.99 for 6 chicken nuggets (they were very large chicken chunks), 2 sides, a delicious rool and dipping sauce. It's SO good. Great price, great food. I'm happy. And you cant beat the special, which you can also get with chicken fried steak). Love it! read more

I grew up around here in the 80s and loved Grandy's and have been sad to seem them slowly disappearing from the area. The ones on the north side of OKC seem to be in various states of neglect. The food was quite good and reasonably priced. The tail end of a long road trip made this place a welcome stop. The food is pretty fresh and it I were hungrier, I'd have appreciated the endless rolls more. My picky eater son enjoyed their fried chicken, as did my oldest daughter...it looked good enough that my youngest wanted some, but remembered after a few bites that she didn't really liked fried chicken. She went back to order what I had, the chicken fried chicken, and enjoyed it a lot. The gal who took my order was awful, rude, and in general looked like she'd rather be doing just about anything (I'm in a good mood so I couldn't think of anything miserably unpleasant to insert here, so I leave that bit to you) other than taking my money for food. Luckily this visit was saved by a lovely gal that was kind and pleasant that handed my food out to me. I wish I'd caught her name. Working in Norman OK and right behind my hotel I see a Grandy's. I say to myself "holy moly, I haven't eaten at a Grandy's in 20 years. I love Grandy's". Boy, my memory must really be bad. This was by far the worst meal I have eaten in years. The pot roast must have been in the pot since the last time I ate at one. Now the staff, they all seemed like they hated being there. That should have been my first clue. If they don't want to be there do I? I would have been better off just throwing my $11.00 into the toilet. Next go around I'll go with my gut and eat at Braum's. We went to Grandys because I was craving livers with gravy. They no longer carry livers and gizzards. Strike One. I then asked for breakdfast, only to be told it ends at 10:30am; it was 1:30 pm. Strike Two. I then asked for the pot roast, only to be told it was not available. Strike Three, I'm out. The girl waiting on us, along with her two co workers, moved at a glacial pace, put her fingers in every one of our three cups, didn't give us napkins, never saw her clean her hands after touching money then serving food, and ALL of the floors were so sticky it almost pulled off our shoes.
