Grange Insurance has been one of the most frustrating companies I've ever dealt with. In my experience, they seemed more focused on avoiding their financial responsibilities than fairly resolving a legitimate claim. If I could give zero stars, I would. My advice: whatever you do, don't get hit by a driver insured by Grange. Even when their insured is at fault, be prepared for delays, poor communication, and a difficult claims process. Instead of promptly restoring my vehicle to its pre-loss condition, I was forced to spend countless hours fighting over issues that should have been handled fairly from the beginning. We have tried for 5 business days to work with Grange on a claim where their insured totaled my daughter's car she recently purchased for herself. There is a citation and a police report against their driver. "Sebastian" refuses to help us. No rental car, no update on status of her car, nothing. Just rude texts delaying the process. We have had to turn this over to our own carrier to open a claim because she needs transportation! Geico immediately arranged for the car to be picked up, inspected by an adjustor, and said they will handle it for us. Do Better Grange! Someone insured with Grange Insurance hit me while I was parked in my vehicle in a parking lot. He accepted fault on site. I did not appreciate my interaction with a Grange claims adjuster - it felt like he was trying to make me become the guilty one. They have since become totally unresponsive to my insurance company (GEICO) reaching out to resolve the claim. It's been 7 months and they have still not resolved the claim when their insured literally accepted fault on site. I was involved in an accident and the at fault driver had AllState. I have tried for 5 days and absolutely no help. I called my insurance Grange and they were amazing. Paula was so kind and helpful. She did more for me in 30 mins than AllState in 5 days. She had a shop for me to take my car and called them to arrange pick up. After roof leak claim was denied and disputed, we predicted their next step..... the entire exterior of house would be inspected next, and an "issue" was going to be found somewhere. I'll start by saying they say their phone calls are recorded, they're not! Once you try to use the recorded call for your benefit, they say that they purge their recorded calls. I had an accident in 2023 of December, using one of their auto repair providers a tow truck company picked up my car from my home with a note stating " Car has, no oil DO NOT START". When my car arrived at the Auto shop They looked over my vehicle and my engine and deemed it to be okay! A month or so later I received a notification that the vehicle was completed and ready for pick up. When I went there to pick up the car after I started it was shaking out of control and vibrating very hard! My car never sounded or rattled like this before. I stated to the company that fixed it that the vehicle this sounds unsafe and I was scared that it would blow up on me. I did not want to take this vehicle home being that it was shaking and idling so rough. Then I contacted my Grange agent after explaining what is going on she's rude and has no consideration for me and stress that I am going through. She becomes more unresponsive to phone calls and messages and I had no sense that she is actually trying to help me. After a stand still with not paying the deductible and not picking up of vehicle due to my concerns I got in contact with the adjuster at that time. After back and forth phone calls with him and Auto service company he told me to drive my car and if it blows up, we will reopen the claim and he will take care of me. I asked him if he knew the phone calls were recorded, he said he did and laughed. I told him that I would not drive the car being that it sounds as if it will blow up. I asked if he could send someone from Grange to come and physically inspect my car he stated that Grange does not come to physically inspect vehicles anymore and I would have to take the vehicle to another mechanic for and another inspection. If I wanted to do that I would have to pay my deductible to move my vehicle and that everything would be out of pocket until reopened and approved by the insurance at a certified repair shop of my choice. I again said that the vehicle is unsafe and my car sat at the original repair shop for another four months. then I received a phone call from the place that had my car saying they were going to start charging me for storage! I found out they paid my deductible the day I went to pick up my vehicle! Thats illegal how can they pay my claim? I contacted Grange to let them know that I did not make that payment and was not satisfied with the claim! Grange responded with it doesn't matter who paid it, the claim was closed. So I went to a certified mechanic I know have all photos, videos and full inspection and with everything documented. My vehicle's engine is completely locked up and seized with just a little bit over 100 miles since the initial accident. After getting back to Grange with all of the info that I now have, I thought that would be enough evidence to get them and get my car fixed and back to me finally. I reached out to the lady in charge of my claim and sent her everything that she requested. Again days of no response. Finally I did get a hold of her she gave me an email to send everything over to but that email was incorrect. So after me sending everything to multiple emails I waited seven days! I tried calling to figure out who was getting my information and where it went to, I still got no help. I received a phone call finally from a guy that was very rude and sounded happy to tell me that they will not cover anything! I have a pretty car that doesn't run and a 17,000 bill never driven car since accident vehicle was misdiagnosed and should have been totaled out and now I have to get a lawyer involved. Poor Service Received from Madison Durham. Took almost a week to get in touch with her, and this was after hearing nothing for almost two weeks after the accident. She does not return emails, phone calls, or texts. Best time to actually reach her was between 12:30-1:00pm. Her tone was condescending and she failed to satisfy. Her boss was not much better. A real company-man, who follows policy to the strictest letter of the law, providing only bare-legal-minimum to consumers involved in the accident. These two should be ashamed, and if they are any representation of the company, 1 star is too high of a rating. NEVER want to deal with them again. read more

Customer service couldn't be any worse if they tried! They demanded that we return rental car even though they haven't paid us for our car and won't respond to email and additional information they requested that we sent in immediately. The one time I did get to speak to the claims manager after waiting 4 days he suggested that I file a claim through my insurance for an accident their client caused and was cited for at the scene of the accident. The worst experience of my life deserves no stars. Worked with Stuart and Dylan; one of the Grange clients totaled my car on 03/14/25 and they still havent gotten this resolved. They refuse to explain the process and steps and refused to answer questions, Stuart does nothing but talk over me and when I have a question he gets louder and more aggressive. They sent me a link to this Coport company that Im suposed to surrender my car to but its a link to this companys Wholesale Auction website. They pass you back and forth and act like you are the problem. Today, after I responded to Dylans email and stated clearly I did not want to retain the vehicle and wanted to surrender it and requested information on the next steps he ignored me and had Stuart email me and then call me after I had made it clear I did not wish to deal with Stuart again. Now I have conflicting emails and texts regarding the place Im supposed to surrender my car to. I've had to buy a new vehicle to replace my car and months later Grange has not done its job and settled the claim. I'm thinking I need to file the claim with my insurance and then sue Grange. Stay away from Grange and the Columbus, Ohio people are worthless. I guess if you are one of their customers they look out for you, Stuart has told me several times that the girl who totaled my car has her car fixed months ago. My carpet was damaged by a renter, and Grange paid 80% of total cost to replace. Secondly, they only paid 50% refund today. The remaining amount will only be paid after I purchase the new carpet. This is unacceptable. Why? 1. No other insurance company has kept my money EVER! I have received total payment for all claims. 2. I get a year to submit a new carpet purchase receipt. However, my year started when the damage occurred not when I submitted the claim 6 months later. Why the late submission, legal issues where being addressed between the renter and me that impacted the claim submission process. 3. I am undergoing significant home remodeling. Common sense and professional designers plan carpet to be installed last after construction. My remodelling will be 1-2 years for completion. Trying to find contractors in this day and age, will take months. I only get 6 months before they cancel the remaining 50% refund. Is that fair? I suggested they start a subrogation process; in which, I could get my renter's insurance company to pay the damage cost, but they will not give me the balance of the refund even if I participate in the subrogation process. It's a shame policy takes priority over a Win-Win scenario for both Grange and me, the customer. They have lost a customer for life! Caveat emptor. read more
