We had Granite and Tile II remodel our house 4 yrs ago. They did the kitchen, both bathrooms and complete floor. The issue is now all the flooring is buckling. They referred us to the manufacturer, I called the manufacturer who sent out an independent inspector. He said the reason the floor is buckling is because the contractors did not leave room for expansion, so the flooring is buckling. The invoice says 1 yr labor warranty, because of this they will not fix our floor. The only reason our floors are buckling is because of the way it was installed. Go find a different company to do any remodeling of your home. This place is no help once they get their money. Included in the pictures is the inspection report. read more

Company did not communicate at all with customer. Gave No details regarding the process involved, no guidance with info of product. Lied continually about everything, and when the installers finally did the installation you could see the seams in the counter top. The guy they sent to measure, did not do any of the requested remarks of measure on the counter tops. He did what he wanted to do. We waited weeks for the job to be complete, and the installers spoke Spanish, or pretended they didn't understand English. We made a BIG mistake choosing this company, and I hope come judgement day they'll pay for the way they treated us. Hope nobody else gets taken in by their charm. They have no integrity! We have used Granite & Tile Outlet II for multiple homes, and wouldn't consider using anyone else. The quality of their tile work cannot be matched - it is SO hard to find someone that correctly lays tile and floor, and they do an excellent job. My husband works in the flooring industry, and we cannot go into a place without him pointing out what is wrong with the floor. So, I know it would have driven him nuts if they did something poorly in our own house. We have used them to re-floor and entire rental house when we were putting it on the market, put in new wood floors and a tile shower a house in Flower Mound, and then when we remodeled our current home, they provided quartzite counters for our kitchen (I can't get over how pretty), tile in all of the bathrooms, a beautiful glass backsplash, and carpet in bedrooms. For the counters, our island was so large we couldn't get a long enough single slab of granite, so we were thinking of doing quartz. They suggested quartzite and I absolutely love it - it is so much prettier than quartz as it is a natural stone. They are consistently on time, very honest, and literally have never had a single problem with them. They kept us up to date with where they were on each project and again completed each expertly. We often found them working on the weekends or late at night one some of our properties we were trying to get done to get on the market. And again, the tile work especially was done expertly. People don't understand that good tile work takes time - trust me you want them to take it. read more

The wife and I were looking to replace our "engineered" wood floor in our living room with a light tile. Stopped at another place before stopping at Granite & Tile Outlet II. As we live close by we stopped in and are "very" glad we did. They had the tile we were looking for and way less money than the other place for a similar product. Great caring staff. They blocked off all the openings to the rest of the house then pulled up with pry bars our glued down floor (as to hold down the dust) which was a big relief to us and it worked perfectly! We've done business with this company on several different jobs within our family. Most recently, we contracted them to do another job in our home. On this last job for us, we were told by Larry the sales rep / part owner that it was going to be a two day job. Their two man crew was in and out in less than two hours. It was obvious that they did a patch job. My wife was home during the time they were in our home and she walked by the work area multiple times checking on the job. When I contacted Larry about this he said he would send his foreman Jose. Jose didn't show up on two appointments and finally showed up on his third scheduled appointment with us. We explained how everything transpired and he called Larry. After conversing with Larry on the phone he was not willing to work with us. He did not offer any kind of resolution. We paid for a complete flooring job in this area of our home, only to receive a patch job. We were looking for a fair compromise and we were not offered anything for the patch job we received. Our family will no longer do business with this company as they are crooked and operate unethically. read more

I used this place when my parents house. I had 3 bathrooms done, a large kitchen and another area. The job was ok. I decided to try them again. Mistake. The quote for my small kitchen was more than the entire area I described above. They were way higher than home depot or lowes The plumbing was ridiculous.... more again.. And, they charge minimum charges?! My kitchen isn't THAT small. Not one quote I got was anywhere in the ballpark of this place. Their minimum charges are double what the box stores charged to do it. Absolutely terrible. Have been dealing with them for 3 months now. Had them install new kitchen countertop, a desktop and and island. They cut the desktop 3 inches short and sealed a 3 inch piece to extend it. Looks like crap. Then they chipped one side of the island creating a 4 inch wide hole which they put some sort of 'putty' on to fill the hole. Looks like like crap. After 2 months of back and forth they finally agreed to replace the desktop and island. But showed up with slab that did not match the new countertop. A month later, we are still waiting for them to just start over and replace everything since they can't find any slab that matches the countertops. Have never heard from owner. Only some sales guy named Larry who has not delivered on anything yet. Now have an atty involved. I have no idea how this store has stayed in business. read more

Two years ago they totally screwed up our $5000+ floor installation. They did not want to fix it. They said if I paid for an independent inspection and the inspector agreed their were issues they would fix it. Well, we paid $200 for the inspection. And, the report outlined a list of issues which I had pointed out to these LYING, CHEATING, INCOMPETENT, FOOLS at GRANITE TILE OUTLET 2. Well the inspection was over a year ago - and they've done nothing to fix it. So, we've had an unfinished screwed up floor for over two years. Our only option is to take legal action. read more

Had a great experience with Granite and Tile Outlet II on Stacy Rd in Allen, TX. Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. Had granite countertops installed in kitchen and 2 bathrooms--it looks wonderful! Granite installers were very friendly and took pride in their work. Also had 2 frameless shower doors installed and had a great experience with those installers as well. I will not and no one else I know will use this company for anything, they were awful Granite and tile outlet provides excellent customer service until you've signed on the dotted line. I had granite and backsplash installed by them, backsplash to save time and energy of completing it ourselves.. Granite went in as scheduled (some imperfects that I can live with) but done as scheduled..... The backsplash install was another story, it was to be installed on a Thursday before 10am, so at 11am I called to inquire of the delay, after sometime I was called back and told, well due to you changing the color of the subway tile there was a delay with the tile order, I took that as a fault of mine and was okay with it, I was assured that the backsplash would be installed on Friday instead. I excepted and moved on as this was the second day I had taken off of work, but nonetheless was my fault or so I thought. Friday 10am came and passed, I called once again to inquire, was told I would receive a return call, I waited and waited. Called back again and was placed on hold while they called the installer, they said the installer would call me. Okay, the installer calls and said that "they" barely told him about my job and that he already was at another job and could not come until Saturday (since no one was scheduled for the day before, that could not have been my fault) .. pissed but excepted the conditions. Why, I had already lost 2 additional days for nothing and they (the installers) assured me that the tile could be installed and grouted the same day. Saturday comes, the installers arrive at 10:30, and immediately seemed agitated once they confirmed the areas to be tiled. They install the tile and mosaic tile (which was not done as explained) leading to an excessive amount of waste and thereby changing the desired design choice for one part of the kitchen. Once the tile was installed the installers said they would need to come back on Monday to gout and it would take 2 hours max, I agreed as both the installers, and myself were annoyed and tired. Monday comes one installer comes to grout, which took more than 8 hours, and he was unable to place the plug outlets said back into the walls, leaving the plugs hanging out. Which took the foreman to place them back into the wall on Tuesday, he too was unable to place the telephone outlet back into the wall, it remains without a wall plate to this day. Overall this install took 7 days to mostly complete! I will not and no one else I know will use this company for anything! They offered no accommodations for any delays, nor any apologies. I would not recommend this place. We choose to use them as they were recommended by a realtor who told us call so and so as he would look after us. I made an appointment for him to come to our home. On the day and the end of the time frame he was due to arrive I called the shop to see where he was and he answered the phone. He said isn't so and so with you? Why would I be calling if anyone was at my home! And if you the person that was referred why would you give the job to someone else, who also hadn't shown up. I will just say that should have been a big red flag and that it only went down hill from there. We are not happy with the results or the way we were treated. read more

I would not recommend this place. I had granite put into my house 2 years ago in the kitchen and it is cracked at the seams between the sink and another slab of granite. The grout and so forth should not be gone. They told me that my house shifted and that was the cause of it. It was not. Plus it is not under warranty since the warranty is only 1 year. I went to another place and they told me that it is poor workmanship and that I should not be having this problem. Now I have to purchase all new granite. Not happy!!! read more

Absolutely the worst decision we have ever made...never again!! The 1st appt we scheduled, after the guy was an hour late, I called to inquire and was told someone would call me back. They did and asked if I wanted someone to come to my home, my reply was 'not anymore'. But after researching several companies for a remodeling project, we called them back and GTO seemed to be the best price, by as much as $20K in one case! Plus, they are close to home, so we hired them. The first construction employee did such an unbelievably poor job that we fired him. When he was fired and pictures were shown, (in the store) to substanciate the complaint, I was cursed at by a salesman. We then had to wait for availability on another man whose lack of English forced me to use an English-to-Spanish translater on my phone, just to communicate. Typical? Maybe so. This guy was so slow that a two week job turned into almost 2 months. Some of that may have been because so many tiles had to be removed and replaced due to poor craftsmanship. There were many issues along the way and because of that, the project manager offered to seal our new tile for free. We finally gave up on that and did it ourselves. The final insult was all of the tile that was left over. As stated, many tiles had to be torn out and replaced and yet there is still a large stack of tile in the garage that is not returnable, even though the salesman measured incorrectly and therefore sold us way too much. I could go on but surely the point has been made. We were delayed, lied to, overcharged and treated poorly. Honestly, they don't even deserve one star. read more

What seemed like a good price and deal was not. We needed counters and a new back splash. The price was fair, but we needed them installed in a short time, the store agreed and we went with them. They missed the install date for the counters and had to reset, costing us time off work. They didn't set the expectation for getting the back splash done and we assumed it was the same day. A guy had to come the next Saturday for this. The person showed up late, took 1.5 hour lunch and left the job unfinished at 5. He said he was going to return Monday. We had to take another day off work for this. However he never showed. The owners were contacted and gave me three separate stories before we go to the truth that the guy was just not going to show. Another guy came out and we found the 1st had not used the new backer board, and the install had to be ripped out and redone. Three days later they said it was done but then we found missing grout, gout in the power outlets and screw holes, and we learned our sink / drain / and faucet were all off center from where they were supposed to be. read more
